Thank you for the feedback folks, both here or on Youtube itself. I promise I've read through all of it, it's all very helpful.

So I've made lots of tiny corrections to the timeline, mostly audio. Some typos or mask errors. The next render starting tonight should be better. It's clear that I do have some areas of improvement though:

My presentation is a bit too fast for a video of this size. I'm overwhelming the audience sometimes.

Generally needs more breaks and pauses. Possibly chapter breaks?

Need to try and make the runtime shorter next time.

I need overall more control over the background music or tone of voice.

Alas, these specific ones are the sort of thing I'll need to watch for next time as they're mostly structural and would require quite a lot of rework at this stage. But it all helps for the effort next time.

Going forward this week, my plan is:

Render this video overnight as part of improved quality assurance.

Work on the recorded dialogue for the replacement 2 minutes (difficult to do during the daylight hours due to the city noise outside)

Edit that into the footage then quality assure.

Remove a couple of things from part 1 & 2, then quality assure.

Release all three in a new playlist called "Video Essays".

Plan the next bullshittery and present you all with a poll of options.

Whilst that poll is underway I'll probably take a few days break if that's alright? Recharge the batteries. Maybe go fishing. Then on with the next bullshittery :)

Sounds like a plan, enjoyed them alot, was like wombles stream rambles the deluxe version. Also i know you have said you love the Terror series on the arctic, have you seen a channel called ‘History Buffs’ great channel that goes through the historical accuracy of films like that, but does not just slate it but gives a lesson on what actually happened etc. Very good channel 🤘

Definitely agree with you taking a break. you've been working hard and those fish have been getting too lazy.

The only things I would change are what you mentioned, make short breaks in the video to prevent overwhelming the audience, and to redo those 2 minutes. I disagree with what you said about the length, I actually really think the length of part 3 was perfect. But yeah, overall it is a wonderful set of videos, I think it will be received very well, I honest to god think this is a powderkeg that will ignite a huge resurgence in the original Arma2 DayZ servers and gamemodes and such (which I'm very excited for) and above all else you certainly deserve a break. Take off as long as you want. You've truly earned it.

PizzaDiPasta123

You sure deserve a break after this amount of work. Hopefully fishing is still allowed, the weather ok and the venue not too populated :)

Really enjoyed the videos soviet. Definately take a break after this.. Personally i liked the old sound on the second vid, to me it the wording and sense of tone sounded like you.. i didnt get that feel in the new version. But other than that loving the essays and hope it is well recieved.

Your new essay trilogy pushed me over to start supporting you here. Partially because I am interested in following your video development updates and I hope to find more of that here. I liked your essays; they're in-depth, analytic, humorous and a breath of fresh air in video-essay land, which kinda evolves exactly like DayZ with some subgenres getting fairly stale fairly quickly. Your use of analogies is very strong and rather unique. Coupled with the animations driving them I think it may be a strong recipe for more.

What an awesome video, this was a masterpiece and the effort shined through a lot. That convinced me to go set up a patreon. I have been watching your Youtube Videos since a few years, as they are very entertaining and have ran your streams on the Archive Channel a lot. With this video I felt like I truely gained valuable knowlegde as well and want to thank you for that in this way. I also absolutely love your other content, so this is to support both of that. Your videos are awesome! Lots of love, Nero

Alright mate, just watched the full release, may say something you need to touch on. The Steam Workshop.

i absolutely love these kinds of videos. informative, entertaining, and honestly relaxing to watch. kinda like a David Attenborough documentary, if you know what i mean.

Great vids Soviet. Regarding breaking them into chapters - that depends on the viewer, personally I watched them in the one go and didn't feel overwhelmed (I remember how back in the day you split the original vids into... 10 chapters? 12? I can't remember exact number, but it was something like that) but for some people that put on YT whilst they eat it might be a tad too long. I personally would love if you'd tackle some other stuff with similar formulae if you're ever up for it :) Take a break mate. You sounded overworked lately. You don't have to ask us for permission, just do it, it's better if you take a well deserve break than burn out and begin to hate making vids.

I've just joined so this may have already been mentioned, but a small suggestion for the essay part would be to mention the title of the game shown somewhere on the screen, I've seen it done on other essay and always like the little extra polish it gave to the video, plus it answered my "oh this looks neat what's this game?". Great work on the video by the way, really informative and still keeping the "Womble" style!

Just watched all three of the essays. I thought i wouldn't be intrested in this type of content but boy was I wrong. Great job!
