Good evening folks. I hope you're all well.

So last week's task of cleaning and scrubbing footage was quite productive. I was able to label clips for CSGO, PUBG and a little bit of DayZ. And have figured out that there's enough bullshittery highlights for all three of them. For multiple episodes in some cases.

Around about Thursday, my scrubbing work in the CSGO folder started to crystallise into "hey that would be a cool intro idea" and "that would make a good outro". And before I knew it the framework of a bullshittery started to form on a test timeline.

Therefore, following the though line for said enthusiasm, I ploughed headlong into what should be Random CSGO Bullshittery (part 9).

I'm really happy with the clips in the CSGO master project file. A lot of them are very funny. Having long since forgotten the gags, I found myself laughing at a lot of them during the scrubbing. It takes about 30-40 clips for a bullshittery compilation of this type. There are about 106 ready to go.

So my plan is to plunge straight into the text and animation editing for the first 6 minutes. Great progress so far, as this is technically only day 3. CSGO is much easier compared to other edits, owing to the points of contrast on all characters for auto tracking (the coloured arrows above heads) and the round-based gameplay causes jokes to be self-contained and easy to cut. You don't, for example, need to look 1 hour before to find the setup to the gag, as you might in something like Arma. Usually, setup and punchline are seconds apart.

The only problem at the moment is that (like PUBG and DayZ) the combined size of all of the streams far exceeds the maximum size of even my largest SSD. So editing will need to be done on standard (and not all that speedy) hard-drives. It shouldn't be a problem initially, but Adobe After Effects is one hell of a prima donna in the late stages of a project.

If it ends up slowing down the edit I'll start getting sneaky. Pulling the necessary streams out onto the SSD and doing it piecemeal. Once all the required scenes are identified.

But for now, this is the plan and I very much hope I can get your blessing to continue. Feel free to give me your thoughts below. I'm confident I can make it a good one :)

Good, watching csgo bullshitterys gives me the illusion that I have fond memories of playing the game and not just salty bombs on my self worth.

PizzaDiPasta123

I very much approve of your choice! Looking forward to it :D

Definitely all for some nice, straightforward videos. Both 'cause it would be nice to get see a bunch of them, but also hopefully so you don't burn yourself out working on huge complicated projects. Glad to have a return to the good ol' days.

To help with the speed, it might be worth getting a NAS, and storing the streams on a RAID array. Don't trust the NAS as a backup, but it's a good place to store lots of stuff as needed. Make sure you've got backups! I'd recommend something like the QNAP TVS-472XT for your workflow. You can actually give it 2 M.2 NVMes, and have it cache/accelerate the data you're using a lot on them, whilst you have bulk storage on the HDDs. It's Thunderbolt compatible with Windows, so very very fast. It could really help with editing your streams in the way you need. If your computer doesn't have Thunderbolt, you can get a PCI card to add it on. It's not cheap, currently listing at £1,269.99 on amazon but worth it for your workflow. You (may) have to buy hard drives as well as the NAS unit, the amazon listing comes with 10TB of hdd space. Hope this is useful tech info! Can provide more advice (like what harddrives you should get) if it'd help

Sounds like you know what to do and will do lots. Thank you!

Powerjugs

Sounds like you have it all in hand, honestly. It will be nice to see another CS:GO Episode after this long and I think come the end of it you'll be pleasantly surprised with its reception.

Ash Novreske

Sounds fun! Looking forward to a CSGO bullshittery.

DoomedNightFury

Sounds great. Btw when will there be an update to the patreon passwords? Its been like 2 years.

Certainly appreciate and approve the choice of CSGO, regarding your capacity issue, as everyone says, look into getting/building a NAS, I did it with fairly dated hardware, but I managed to get about 8TB of network storage, which is fine for me, but you may also want to ensure you have data protection. There's so much footage you're storing, that if a drive fails, it'll be upsetting, trust me!

Modeski

I rewatch your csgo bulshittery too much, im so glad youre making another one :DD

Hello Sir, As you mentioned the ease of making subtitles because of the good contrast on characters (the arrow) and therefore being able to autotrack it a lot does that mean Track Motion in After Effects? I've always found it a bit meh in terms of even if I have a clear arrow on top of the person, it somehow always drifts away as if it was taking the background into account a lot more than I would like. Might also be the nature of worse bitrate for the footage and also a lot of camera movements (because I play Overwatch). Have you ever had similar issue? Also I am super glad you are making another CS:GO video. I have never been a fan of the game, BUT watching the bullshitteries honestly almost made me play it. Keep up the good work man, can't wait.

Dooly

cool:)
