It's that time again!

PMF 7 is currently at 50k words (the books tend to 160-180k), which is significantly shorter than I hoped, but also in fairness probably pretty good for the start of October. I'll fully admit the real world got in my way a few times this month (also, could the news just maybe slow the hell down for a bit? Please? No, you're not gonna do that, sanity isn't your goal, ugh...). I'm moving along with the book and I have a much better sense of where it's going than when I first started. :)

The flipside to that is I'll probably need significant revisions to this chapter—like, I may cut as much as half of it. This one is pretty long (over 9000 words!). I felt like a check-in scene with events in the bigger galaxy was important, but as I've moved deeper into the narrative, I'm not sure the characters involved will all tie back before the book is over, and then I'm setting up the wrong expectation. So, as a half-warning, half-spoiler I guess: we may see little or none of the Archangel Navy crowd this time out. PMF 7 is very much about Tanner moving on from the Navy & the military life, as he started back in Last Man Out. While those people and events are important, they may not be part of the narrative this time. We'll see!

I tried giving this one the Shutterstock cover fun that I put on the Never Too Many post last month, but I didn't find anything I was happy with. I'll keep looking. I'll probably post the secont NTM chapter later this month, too.

Let me know how you feel about this one!ALSO: Does anyone still use the .mobi files? I'm hearing that's kind of pointless these days, but I never know who might still be using a given file format.

Take care!

I still use .mobi files but thats more from habit than any preference.

It is a great joy when a new GI or PMF content comes out. Thank you Mr Elliot.

That was good. I know you are gonna trim it, but I enjoyed all of the chapter.

Fantastic chapter. I was fully invested in Tanner's dilemma by the end, and I wanted to keep reading!

BRUH! I did Not need you hitting me all up in the Feels today! ☹️

I agree with the above, I was engrossed by the end of the chapter. Great closing line.

I think I'm seeing how Tanner will be invested in the book's plot arc, and how it might help shape any following books.

This is *really* good. Keep on going :-).

Ok, I have to ask. How in the heck did you come up with the "shoes in the lasagna" thing? Inquiring minds have to know...

Shouldn't Alicia (and Tanner) be finishing year 2 now, not year 1? LMO was summer school for Tanner and middy cruise for Alicia.
