Hi all!

This post is a bit of a bonus—and, full disclosure, a bit of previously-published stuff. That's why I'm opening it to all paid tiers. This is what I mentioned in my last post about some hopeful extras for this month.

"Never Too Many" started out a few years ago as a fanfic exercise on Ao3 and Literotica just for fun. It's sword-and-sorcery with an absurd but fun polyamorous/harem-ish* premise. You'll also probably recognize its deep roots in a certain ttrpg literally everyone knows. I got a few chapters into it before I had to focus on books, so it has been untended for a while. Whenever I thought about it, I wanted to scrub the setting references to perhaps publish it as a full novel someday, but I just didn't have time.

Even now, this needs to be a back-burner project. Series books have to come first. I only turned to this after finishing another chapter for Tanner, and only gave it a couple days. (It got my weekend, tbh, but it felt like a nice break).

Right now, I've only got this chapter done & the originals of the next two still needing the revision. Everyone here now an original character, though the gods have some possibly obvious early models. Later characters may show some clear inspiration; this came from a fanfic, after all, so at some point I said "screw it" and leaned in. :)

Warning: Explicit Smut Ahead.

ALSO! I've always wanted to try putting some sort of actual art on the "cover" for the ebook and mobi files. For this story, I browsed through Shutterstock and picked up the closest-appropriate pic I could find. (I hope this isn't AI. I'm not the best at spotting that.) I wanted a drow/dark elf lady, but the options were all a little too "fantasy armor" for the character. The title work is my own very clumsy and amateur labor with the dazzling magic of the Preview app on my Mac, so do not make fun of me! My options were limited! :)

Anyway, give this a read and hopefully you'll enjoy it. Let me know what you think!

(*harem-ish: the focus will be on the protag & his partners, but I'm just not down with the double-standard fantasy. If one partner gets to play, they all do. Don't get upset if & when one of the women gets with another guy. Everyone's fine.)

Huh, I've definitely read this before when it was previously on lit, but did you publish it under a third username, rather than your main or the same one as GP&NR? Because I'm not sure that I remember it being under either.

Well this was fun. Always excited for the DND vibes. Wandering Monsters or Days of High Adventure crossover down the line?

1. Nice to see a return to this one, with some of the serial numbers filed off (or should I say forgotten, in this case?). 2. There were some new typos introduced with the edits. Want a list? 3. "I enjoyed your cooking" must be one of the best declarations of "it could have been love but we're about to die" I've seen. 4. There is still a mention of Selune, who I think you renamed Domis. 5. "Originals of the next two", so there is an unreleased additional chapter (not posted to Lit or AO3)…? 6. Regarding the cover, just that the text is close to unreadable due to the low contrast between text and background. The rather thin and spindly font doesn't help either. 7. One thing I really enjoy with your smut is that you often add a touch a bit of humour and levity to the grind. The sex might be supernaturally aided to avoid all the fumbling around and awkwardness, but you still keep some funny in the fun.

That was just plain fun. Thank you for sharing!

My newfound guilty pleasure this year has been reading HaremLit fantasy. It's fun most of the time, but in my opinion not a lot of Authors manage to write well balanced and wholesome relationships. So just last months I was thinking, what would a HaremLit fantasy story look like if it's written by Elliott Kay. Et voilà, the answer dropped in my email inbox. I really liked the first chapter, it's an interesting setup, I like the characters so far, and with your track record I already know I'm going to love the future relationship between them all. So I really hope we're getting somewhat regular updates and/or a book soon(ish). Personally, I don't really care what story gets your focus next, I've loved pretty much everything of yours I've read, And I'm almost sure I've read everything except Devil In The Details (and only because my focus has been on different media recently)
