Hi again!

As I've mentioned, I'm currently on a new project apart from my established series so far. I'm hoping it'll hit both of the wants of my bigger audiences, as it's part Poor Man's Fight and part Good Intentions, but all new rather than being a spin-off of either. Poor Man's Fight 6 *is* still in the works along with this, but... well, let's just say that series is the toughest of all the things I write, and it's harder than ever with the [flails hands at the world] EVERYTHING right now.

My working title on this one is Hard Restart. It's coming a little easier than PMF, and it's a nice bit of escapism, so hopefully it'll be a welcome arrival?

Anyway, I'm posting chapter one to the short story tier momentarily. Chapter two is finished, chapter three is coming along nicely, and I have ambitions. Future sneak-peeks will  hopefully include some art and some longer excerpts, but for now I thought I'd share this one tiiiny bit (sorry, things will be bigger soon) to lay out a little bit of theme?

Hard Restart features lots of things I'm seeing are common to my writing: picking up after shattered dreams, sticking to morals even when it costs, love in unusual places, punching, kicking, and... well... as for the conflict and the bad guys, you know me.  :)

“Given the illegality and perceived danger of Whitmore’s project, I am perplexed at the numerous risks and flaws in his plans. I am further perplexed at his reactions once events took adverse turns. He had the wherewithal to conduct a highly illegal project in secret and placed under his control, avoiding any oversight from Coalition and station authorities as well as oversight from within his corporation. Yet with all that, he then managed its outcome and the prototype so poorly.” Selene frowned. “He had to be intelligent to arrange all of this, but it has all gone wrong.”

“Oh no,” said Riley. “No, that’s not weird at all. A lot of these guys at the top aren’t that smart. They don’t even get there by being smart. Sometimes they pay smart people to be smart for them, but even then half the time they ignore the people they paid to be smart.”

Selene tilted her head in curiosity. "Are we smarter?"

"I don't know. I'll tell you if this works out for us."

Hmm. She’s discussing the prototype as if it were someone or something else. But she isn’t the source. That’s Leeth.
