Hi all!

February was a short month, so I hope we're all good with a somewhat shorter story than recent examples. To be honest, this is a little closer to the length I planned when I started this account, but um... turns out bigger stories is part of who I am as a writer. I've had this one rattling around in my brain for maybe more than a year and figured this was a good time for it.

The monthly sneak-peek post is coming either tonight or tomorrow, with a couple progress notes on some long-overdue things. Take care!

PS: This is coming from a new computer, with a fresh copy of Calibre for ebook file conversions and my inexperience with Mac systems. The "series" numbers will be renewed (meaningless, really), but if there are any problems with the downloads, let me know and I'll get right on it!

Huh. No honour among thieves here. Especially since John, Carl, and Thorn (hmm… two thugs from Life in Shadows and then a vampire from Good Intentions) just got robbed of their honest wages.

The last bit at the end didn't sit quite well with me at first, but then I thought about it, and now I appreciate it. He's a complex character in a shady business. That last bit made him feel real. If you think about it, passing up cash just means he'll be in the shadows that much longer. Plus, he did have his own honor code. You did a good job establishing what he was fine with. This didn't fit the bill, yet those guys went ahead anyway. Subtle and thought-provoking. Nicely done.

Beautiful. Such a practical perspective. :-)
