Genderbent Malfoy from Harry Potter has been getting a lot of attention lately.

I'm thinking about jumping on the trend too.
What do you guys think?

I see! Since you live outside of Japan, you might not be familiar with the unique community rules and culture here, so I wanted to share my concerns with you as a supporter. In the Japanese art and fan community (especially on Pixiv), creating genderbent or NSFW (sensitive) fan art of characters based on live-action movies and real-life actors (like Malfoy) is considered a major taboo. Harry Potter has a huge and incredibly strict female fanbase in Japan. If you upload that kind of art to Pixiv like usual, it will likely be reported for ruining their search results (search pollution) and disrespecting real-life actors. This could lead to a massive backlash from Japanese users, or in the worst case, your Pixiv account getting banned. Because I want you to stay safe and avoid any toxic drama with Japanese fans, I honestly think it's better to skip this trend. If you really want to draw it, I highly recommend sharing it only on overseas platforms or closed spaces, and completely avoiding Japanese sites like Pixiv!

Would be lovely.

To be honest, I’m not really a fan of gender-swapped characters. Setting my personal preferences aside, there have always been plenty of such characters on Pixiv, and I don’t think posting them would be much of a problem. It’s always been a very free platform. However, there is an unspoken understanding that you shouldn’t publish works based on living people—especially if they contain sexual content. I wonder if this is why there’s a slight difference in attitude between Japan and other countries? I’m a little worried about how the author of Harry Potter and the actor who plays Malfoy will react to this trend. Even if such content is created (in small amounts), I intend to support it just as I always have. From a Japanese fan.
