Ariana has a weird relationship with the grammy's. there were performance issues and disagreements, but also, she didn't appreciate when they used Mac Miller's death for views. They invited his family to the ceremony, which gave the general public the idea that he was going to get the grammy he was nominated for, just for them to not give it to him. They handled the entire thing very messy and it's been seemingly rocky with Ari & the Grammy's since. But also, Ari did prioritize Wicked over her album last year and even put out a story on IG saying she's putting a pin in all things ES until her Wicked duties were done. She gave little crumbs with her youtube live performances and TBIM Remixes/Video but ultimately she has paid the album dust.

i honestly don’t know what to expect from the grammys but i’m going to predict what i most expect (so not necessarily what i want to win/think should win): aoty: hit me hard and soft soty: good luck, babe roty: espresso bna: chappell roan bpva: short n’ sweet bpsp: birds of a feather bpd/gp: die with a smile to be honest, i won’t be disappointed with any result this year but would definitely love to see taylor take at least one (maybe best music video). would also love madison beer to win the best dance pop recording (though she is up against some tough competition).

Bonny not sure if you already saw but the NFL did release audio of some clips with Taylor because they do this thing where they mic certain players (especially these playoff games) plus they have lots of filming/audio equipment on the field for their content. You might have already seen those since you filmed this vid but Taylor and Travis were super cute in those clips, even though it definitely does feel like we're all intruding on a private moment lol but if Taylor minded that after all the clips and audio last year, I don't think she would go down onto the field again so I'm gonna assume she's accepting of that at least.

Gotta admit I’m not sure I support the retconning of Joe this way. He has a pretty good body of work being built as an artist and is pretty clear about his direction. He believes like Chappell that just because your job is in the public eye doesn’t mean people have free access to your private life. Taylor spent 6 years in a relationship with him so I don’t think we should now start painting him as just an insecure man with no career so much as a relationship he didnt commit to partly because of her fame. It’s a bit different for me.

Even though the vault tracks are new I think she’s going to change up her pattern and release TS 12 this year (maybe this Spring?) and do a re-recording maybe at the end of the year or wait until next year.

love the chatty videos always. i hope you see the clip when travis finishes hugging taylor and reaches for drew and hugs him. there's also a video from the field that shows drew laughing. that's really rare. the chiefs actually had an armed deputy with her on the field, so maybe that made drew feel like he could let his guard down a bit. it's fun to see that travis is such a good guy that even taylor's long time bodyguards love him. also, with the game being a home game, she seemed more confident heading down to the field. this time, instead of holding donna's arm, she held hands with donna the whole way. everyone seems so much more comfortable in the relationship now

One of the football clips cut off before my favorite part. Travis hugged Drew!!! One of Taylor’s main security guys. On the field after hugging Tay❤️ I don’t know why but it struck me so hard. Usually we see her security so stoic and obviously professional, it made me so happy that they have such a bound too! Just two superior men that have Taylor’s best interest at heart ❤️

She had a publishing/development deal with Sony at 14 - her whole gig was writing songs with seasoned writers. I think there are scads of songs out there. Not all solo self written songs, but a lot of co-writes with folks on music row in Nashville - and they were good enough that they wanted to sign her to a publishing deal (but not release her as an artist in that moment yet).

I def get what you're saying, Em! I think it's important for the AOTY to resonate with the general public, not just the fans of a particular artist, even though imo some of TTPD songs are her best written and most vulnerable. But I think other albums were bigger phenomenons (socially, not commercially) or focused on important global/national issues maybe more than TTPD did. Although she does discuss greed and fear a lot, omg this album is so good.

Also advise for the SuperBowl I love the idea but it's a long boring game to commit yourselves to, I'm talking full day (Taylor would probably arrive around 8am our time) BUT there will be a lot of Travis related press from the week prior that you may like to fathom, as well as other stuff to chat about (debriefing grammys etc) during the game - Travis is also up for Man of The Year, so we could potentially see them at an award show together this week. And in the event they win (🤞🏽) it'd probably be a week straight of never ending content since Taylor won't have to go back on tour and will likely partake in all the celebrations. Just things to keep in mind, would love if yall can make it work cause it was a lot of fun with the fandom last year as everything rolled in. I personally think that a new album could be coming sooner than we think. Not that I am EXPECTING anything from her, but I kind of feel like TTPD was an album that she had to write, release, and be done with. She said herself that this was an album that she NEEDED to write. I really think that she has so much material from the past year. We had the second half of the Eras tour where she was much happier, we saw so many moments between her and Travis in between those tour dates.. and now we have time after the tour that she has had even more time with Travis. And I agree with Emily about the point that Taylor hasn't really even promoted TTPD that much, especially recently. I think we might be past that era honestly

Eh I feel like they did a pretty good job of acknowledging that it's an incredibly high standard to possess the qualities to maintain a relationship with Taylor and that its not inherently a fault against him. Utimately I think we all agree that the fame was a sore point. Simply being that self assured is damn near impossible and while he is dedicated to his craft he's a middle of the pack actor so he doesn't necessarily have the same highs as Paul Mescal or Timothée Chalamet for example that may closer relate. I could probs discuss this at length but a comment section probably isn't the place 😅

I think Tortured Poets is the kind of album that will be studied by scholars for years to come, because of the radical vulnerability and the fact she portrays love, her relationship to men, fame and herself in a way that is actually ground breaking in pop music. It taught me a lot about myself and the lyrics are so beautifully constructed, like a maze I continue to find new pathways in. So I definitely think it might be her best work of art - not necessarily her best pop album, because is it really pop? But it’s ART in a broader sense. (She won’t win, and that’s fine. It’s AOTY in this house. I hope Cowboy Carter wins because I lóve this album, and I don’t get why people don’t see how good it is and hate on it so much. I also hope Chappell Roan takes home some awards, she’s so good and I love how the world is singing along to songs about gay love during the political shitshow we currently live in.)

TTPD is album of the year! I think with it being so long that it is hard to comprehend in a short time. But I think this will be the album that in 10 years we are still unpicking and that’s the beauty of it. This album was never meant to be easily understood, poetry never is and that shows the chaos of what was happening in her mind at the time . It was for the fans but that doesn’t take away the fact that it’s undeniably some of the best lyrics she has ever written. U really do need to sit with this album and just hear the nuisances in every song. It captures a chapter of her life perfectly but shows how the effect of past and future. I think when u listen to TTPD u get this sense of it being almost bookended by fortnight and the manuscript like it really does immerse you in that period of time and you get to live it out with her on the journey of songs. The sound of the album is I think unique. I think it sounds like the soundtrack in her mind and is perfect that the lyrics don’t always match the sound, like how her mind and reality didn’t align. Idk I just think there is a density and specificity to the lyrics, like u stumbled across the conversations in her head u shouldn’t be hearing.

Love this style of video! I think Taylor has more than a hundred songs to choose from for the debut vault. They may not all be great, though--this is when she was spending her 10,000 hours to become a master songwriter. But I bet a lot of them are pretty great. But she may not resonate with many of them now, i don't know. I think Brat wlil win in the dance category, but the audience for it is too niche to win a Grammy in the general category. It is great for what it is. I think it is between Beyonce and Grammy darling Billie for best album and it could go either way. Record and Song are interesting and i have no real idea, except I think Not Like Us and Birds of a Feather feel like the favorites to me. I personally think Sabrina deserves it more, but I don't think they will give it to her. I want Amy Allen to win songwriter and i think she will, and i want Dan Nigro to win producer but I think Mustard might get it for work with Kendrick. Chappell obviously wins new artist, and my bet is Olivia presents it to her, I hope Beyonce wins in country and Taylor presents it to her. I think Sabrina's best chance is in best pop vocal, but honestly Billie probably wins there. I’m probably one of the few people who believe that her parents are still together 😅 or at least have gotten back together. Just a lot of little clues here and there. And here’s the reason why : - Obviously they still go to things together and look comfortable around each other. - during lover release week Taylor was talking about soon you’ll get better. And she said she had a conversation as a family like the 4 of them I presume, discussing whether she should put that song in the album or not. If parents are divorced, I would assume she just talk about it with Andrea? But maybe not. This one could still mean they’re divorced. - in miss americana, during the discussion about her wanting to post something during the election, I think Andrea called Scott as babe. Which is weird if they’re divorced -the second last show of the eras tour I think, or during that week when she sang the best day, there was a video of Scott, Andrea, and Austin watching the performance and the parents were hugging. Could still happen if they’re divorced, but could also mean they’re not. Just different vibe. The look to close to be divorced and just be there to support Taylor. - they still go out together casually with Taylor. Like last week or a few weeks ago in NYC with Ashley. and there are some small instances that makes me think they’] just doesn’t look like a divorced couple.. 😅 but who knows. They’re superior people so maybe they can just coexist like that for the sake of the family. But if I compare it to Travis’s parents for example. I think the next album could include processing experiences from the last 2 years on the Eras tour, commentary about the political climate, actual climate - LA fires, the things her close friends (Selena, Blake) are going through - as symbolic of the things women endure in society. Basically things that have really affected her and that she is thinking about, and wants to share her perspective on. I suspect it will have a few songs about Travis, but not be entirely about her current relationship. I’m sure she wants to protect the intimacy and the sanctity of their relationship to a degree. I just wanted to say that when she announced TTPD last year and we were all clowning for rep tv I fully convinced myself that she was doing a pattern: 2021 two re-records, 2022 TS10, 2023 two re-records, 2024 TS11, 2025 two rerecords, 2026 TS12. But now I'm scared because so much has happened for her in the last two years with the success of eras tour and the re-recordings, breaking up with Joe, getting into a relationship with Matty and quickly ending it, meeting Travis, going to the games, him supporting her in ways none of her other boyfriends ever did. It's all just a lot and for what we know about her writing she hasn't been able to stop since 2020. I simply don't know what I'll do with myself if she announced TS12 this year. I love Swiftologist. He definitely keeps it real despite how much hate he seems to get, which is is one of the reasons i like his channel. He can be jarring, but i do like his approach and truthfulness... Especially about the Rob Sheffield book lol. Evolution of a snake with him and Madeline is also great (Madeline has great taste in music imo and her lizard review substack and pod are chefs kiss... the chloe et al. Episodes are fantastic).. Just a nice different pace and take on Taylor and her work. I also watch Ally and Nena but do find their content at times be a bit much. I just wanted to say that I think what a lot of people seem to forget or maybe not fully be aware of when it comes to the Grammy's is it's not just like a small group of people who decide who wins each award. The Grammy's are voted on by a body of over 13,000 voting members of The Recording Academy who are all music professionals, including performers, songwriters, producers, and engineers. The members/voters span all genres too so it's very difficult to predict how that many people will vote. And in a year where so many pop artists, albums, and songs are nominated, the voters who resonate with pop music may be splitting the pop vote across so many nominees that the winners could end up being the unexpected nominees in a bunch of these categories where the voters from their respective genres only have one option from the genre in a given category rather than multiple options to split their votes among, if that makes sense. That being said, I'll be very disappointed if a pop girl doesn't take home album of the year. It will be very interesting I think this year!

I loved your comments about Brittany Mahomes. It is a reality in Trump‘s America that we know and love many people who support Donald Trump. Especially those of us living in red states. It’s hard. Re Debut Chat: 3 of my dream Debut TV vault tracks are called Thirteen Blocks, Never Mind and Just South of Knowing Why - all still on a hard drive from my limewire days 😂 There is also a really slay song called Who I’ve Always Been which I think would make a killer duet with Shania Twain!! I still think that Taylor's friendship with the Mahomes can't be excused away by saying "they have different values but can relate because they have similar experiences." T&T + the Mahomes are two cishet couples, so of course they can get along even though they may not all have the same values--but I have a transgender partner, and I would not be able to be friends with the Mahomes without assuming that they agree with the president of my country that my partner should not exist. I don't feel ownership over Taylor's life, and her friendship with the Mahomes doesn't make me support her art any less. I think Taylor's art is incredible and I've been a fan since I was in first grade! However, I don't think we can go around saying, "it's fine to be friends with people who have different values than me," if their "different values" include bigotry.

I completely agree with you here. I guess I can understand why Taylor can't just stop interacting with people. She's a public figure. And we all know that she's a good person with good values, so I don't hold whoever she decides to hang out with against her. But as a whole concept, having different political views in America's climate is more than enough reason to end a friendship. Because it's not just Democrat vs Republican anymore. It's morals vs straight up evil. All Trump does is divide people. It's what he thrives on. And I couldn't imagine being friends with a person who voted for him because like you said, I'd assume that they support everything he's doing to immigrants, trans people, pocs, the entire queer community. And don't even get me started on Palestine. There's just too much evil going on there. My best friend actually dropped me because I didn't support Trump. And we met and bonded over Taylor Swift. And losing her really sucked. We're both only 18. But I realized that I don't truly need a person in my life if they defend that kind of stuff. No matter what their reasoning is. Cause even if the person who voted for that man doesn't agree with everything he's doing, the act of voting for him proves that it's not a dealbreaker for them. They'd sell certain people out for cheaper gas (which we won't even get because of the tariffs) and I just can't deal with that. Anyway I'm rambling. The point is I agree with you.😅

I think part of the problem was that the version of the song that was submitted was specifically the short film version, which I believe had to do with the needing it to have a certain percentage of new material from the original ATW in order to be submitted as a song from that year. Unfortunately, I think it was probably confusing for voters to see the title All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version) (Short-film version) or whatever it was in total.

What you were saying about taylor overshadowing joe and travis, i think you are definitely correct about that but i just wanted to add on that the way she overshadows a sport and a movie are so different which is another reason why a sports player is so perfect. like no matter how much attention taylor swift brings to the chiefs she still has nothing to do with the teams success because its a football game and it relies on the players of the team regardless of the attention they have. but for a movie, taylors support could be the main reason for a movies success which was the case for most of joes work like how many people actually watched it just to watch it, like no people watched it because it's taylor swift's boyfriend, which i think is why it could have been such an insecurity for joe and not so much for travis.
