I'm hoping that at some point in the future we get a "vault" album. And it's the vault tracks from Rep, but also from Lover, folklore, evermore, Midnights, and even TTPD. Like since she owns them all anyway, why not just make "vault tracks" a thing going forward?? Once it's been long enough from an album release, just give us a few more that almost made the cut. there's something so satisfying to me about that fact that because we're still getting debut tv the rerevordings we do have are going to be a complete chronological set still. they were always going to stop at lover so they're just going to stop one album sooner now. and i feel like her vocals improved so much during rep era that ending with 1989 tv is kind of a great place for them to end as well :)

Of course, we always knew that sonically and instrumentally Reputation would be the hardest version to re-record and replicate. I’m SO excited for Taylor. As far as Rep goes, if I’m honest I had grown resentful of the Rep tv clowning. I stopped actively wanting it to come out on that night when 1989 TV had just come out and the crowed chanted “Reputation” at her as she was about to play her guitar surprise song. She then played Better than revenge which was funny, but I had a sick feeling in my stomach about Rep TV ever since. Im so excited for Debut, knowing she’s excited about it and of course I can’t wait to hear the vault tracks for each album. Love you guys, I’m just nothing but happy for Taylor today.

If anything, I feel relieved that rep won’t have to be re-recorded, it’s my favorite album and it would be heartbreaking if some songs (CIWYW, ready for it, TIWWCHNT in particular) wouldn’t be up to par. I’ve actually been somewhat worried about that. I am disappointed we probably won’t get a 1989 tv type rollout, but obviously this is the better scenario for Taylor. As long as we get the vault tracks and some new photos (maybe kind of like a deluxe version, rep doesn’t have that) I’ll be a happy chicken! Can’t WAIT to see what she has done for debut! 🤠

I've been so terrified about RepTV — specifically how people were going to receive it. With how much it's been hyped up, I just KNOW so many people (obviously not us) but so many others were going to be upset, negative, or just critical in a bad way of any differences at all between the rerecord and the original. I was just nervous about the reception and what people would say. I think not rerecording it, but still releasing vault tracks, is such a good idea that will still give us the unreleased songs without disturbing the OG recording or allowing anything to get "botched". Especially since her voice doesn't sound all that different between then and now. SO HAPPY FOR TAYLOR <3 But I still NEED debut tv and I'm really hoping she still releases that sometime soon — maybe for the 20-year anniversary in 2026? And I NEED her to repress her first 6 albums with colored vinyl PLEASE.

I truly could not be more happy. With every re-record, there comes obviously extreme excitement but a bit of dread and mourning with the loss of her original voice and the true passion and feeling from her that came with truly being in that space. The Taylor’s Version journey has been incredibly fun and meaningful, her having to go back and reflect on past feelings and put herself back in that place, the amount of music we now have that we would’ve never fathomed having, the announcements, everything. But in the end we know how much it hurt her. I’m very okay with Rep TV not coming, and just the vault tracks being released. I don’t need it to change, that’s never been the part that’s excited me the most. And the fact that she’s still willing to release the vaults to close that chapter is so exciting. Clearly she does want to still give us Debut, and there’s something so beautiful about her rereleasing Debut along with this incredibly full circle moment. Bonny, I know as you being a Rep stan this is a lot of emotions, but think about it this way: if she went on to release Rep re-recorded, a project she feels she cannot perfect and she’s just not happy or passionate completing, it’s very likely you’d miss the OG version and the pure magic and raw feelings that came with it. I love that despite someone taking her masters in 2019, she became the biggest artist in the world, made money from doing the rerecordings and proved that no-one knows her work like she does by making the best tour that's ever existed based on all that stolen work. And because of those things being so successful she's been able to pay to own her all work, it wouldnt have been possible without the drive that event gave her. She's iconic. We as fans were having so much fun with the rerecordings that we kind of forgot how bittersweet it was for her to announce them, because it also meant she would never own the originals and all the visuals and music videos. I'm super happy for her, but it DOES feel so weird. Like when you wake up from a nightmare, and you know you are now safe, but you ask yourself "what was all of this pain and emotion for?". I definitely need to process the news too, and feel sad that we might not get the same experience to relieve the reputation era. But who knows? Maybe we will, just in a different way!

I'm so happy about this. And getting Debut TV but only the Rep vault is honestly perfect. Debut deserves and needs the attention (and improvements), but Rep is Rep. She can stand on her own, no need to be messed with. Getting the vault only works so well. Rep finally gets a delux version after all this time!!! I love the 1989 music videos. All this being said, I'm mourning the loss of the rep TV rerecording that will never happen. I don't want to sound selfish but getting an entire "extra" album cycle was fun. And listening to the re-recordings became almost a ritual for me. Rep is my favorite off of her first 6 albums so it was the one that I anticipated the most. I’m beyond thrilled for Taylor to have finally obtained all of her life’s work. It is such a massive achievement. I think it’s also massive for the Swifties, new and old, to be able to truly enjoy ALL of her work without feeling guilty or strangely about the content that she didn’t own. It’s such a win. I sympathize a lot with Bonny about how Rep won’t have its massive TV moment that we were expecting. When thinking more about it, I always felt the two albums that would be the most difficult to re-record were Reputation (by a mile) and 1989. While there are a lot of songs that I felt improved in 1989TV, there are more than an expected amount of disappointments. I just don’t know how she would have been able to truly overcome that with Rep. At least we can get the best of both worlds: we can enjoy Rep for what it is forever and look forward to vault tracks! I am pretty excited about DebutTV being entirely re-recorded. Her voice during the surprise songs brought so much added life to those songs, and it will be so special to hear her experienced take on it. My guess is that DebutTV lines up with the 20th anniversary next year. What a day though. 5/30 is now TS Liberation Day.

I'm very much with Bonnie on all of this - very, very happy she got the recordings back but deeply mourning what could've been the last two re-recording rollouts, esp with Rep. The artwork, the re-recorded songs and the vault!! We were soo looking forward to it for literally years (when she announced TTPD at the grammys instead of rep, the Times Person of the Year interview where she teased the vault tracks as "fire") and now that won't happen or not happen like the others. It is shocking in the best way and I'll definitely need time to digest it. Probably with listening to the first six albums!

It’s amazing that the re-recorded albums inspired the eras tour Then the eras tour became the biggest tour in history Her TV albums and that tour made her the money to buy it all back. We had a hand in all of that. While I’m sad Rep gets left off the TV project, I’m thrilled we get the vaults. An hour later this news drops and I instantly thought, oh I instinctually knew that Taylor now owns her masters and is going to announce it. I swear to god. She wants her voice - all those original inflections and breaths and sighs - that have the emotions behind them - hits harder sometimes. Could we get a video series of you guys listening to the originals and the taylors versions of each song and deciding which album hosts your favorite? Like a series of yall creating a new mega playlist where you go album by album? Or even half an album by half and ablum bc this process could be time consuming? I loved the rerecording video so much and I know I want to do this personally in my own time to make "Hannah's versions" of each album. For example for midnights I've already done something similar to this by adding hits different and you're losing me to a playlist of all of midnights the original album and the 3 am tracks. I also elected not to include karma ft ice spice (i prefer the original karma) but I did replace the original snow on the beach with the more lana vers. this is my ideal version of the album so it's my very own "hannah's version" that I listen to whenever i want some midnights energy - i'd love to see the emily and bonny versions of the albums!

Am I the only one that interpreted that Taylor will still finish re-recording and release Reputation TV? She literally says in her letter that "Those 2 albums can still have their moment to re-emerge when the time is right... but if it happens it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now." To me, this reads that we can't expect exactly the same energy from Reputation TV, but if it's released it may have a lighter, reflective energy. I’m actually really happy that rep tv won’t come out because it truly is perfect and I fear couldn’t have been replicated, especially without Max Martin. I’m sure she’ll make the vault track release super special, and to me the excitement surrounding a re-recording was always the vault tracks and album covers, which we’ll be getting anyways! I do think even though there’s no re-record we’ll get anyways album covers of some sort that she uses when releasing the vault tracks - and who knows maybe there’s like 12 of them and it’ll almost be like getting a new album!!! Thoughts and feelings: So so so happy for her. I feel so horribly on behalf of all Swifties who have been harassing this poor woman about Rep TV for years. Adds even more layers to “all the pieces of me shattered as the crowd was chanting more” we were begging for something she couldn’t bring herself to do. I think it’s one thing to re-record the songs that are about love and heartbreak. You can tap into those emotions. But everything she said about her feelings from OG Rep are so real and would be so hard to replicate. Also she said in her Time POTY article that the Rep vaults were fire. Oh my god I was so emotional too! I was literally in such a weird place watching a video about how meaningless life is on YouTube and I saw her post on YT. I often see old YT posts from her so I had to check it was recent and then read the letter. In a (slightly pathetic) way, the re record process and eras tour and just the energy around everything over the last years genuinely made me feeeel something again. I saw what was written and I was so torn on how to feel, so happy to see her so happy but almost mourning! However I looooove that the eras tour was part of what made this happen and all we did. I actually think it increases the notoriety and iconic nature of Reputation more because there won’t be a TV of it, that she looks at it as a body of work and says that it’s not the same when she tried to replicate it. That she went from crying on the phone after it didn’t get nominated any grammy’s, and saying “i need to make a better album” and coming full circle to this. I think that’s special 🖤 absolutely not saying that having TVs of the other albums waters them down in any way, but I respect her decision and outlook on Rep. This news is bittersweet for me. Bitter because I love experiencing a TV release: the anticipation, the scouring the internet for reactions and breakdowns, the fanfare, the clowning over easter eggs. It's peak swiftie excitement. However, it is so sweet, because I've been in silent protest not listening to any stolen versions to support our girl. But now that she owns HER work, I can listen guilt-free. Reputation especially, because it was the sweetest revenge after the swifties endured those tough years when the world basically turned against her. It would have been hard to recreate that moment and now we can reminisce and appreciate the album as it was intended. I don't know how much she paid, but I can imagine it wasn't cheap. It just shows that it has never been about money (granted that is always a bi-product), but for her it's about her life's work.

The fact that she is offered to buy her masters back now already shows the project was successful. Those masters are only their most valuable in the hands of Taylor because of the power of the re-recording and Swifties selectively listening to those versions. She won, owning her life work is more important than proving a point. And she has already had all the massive success and career defining moments from the first for recordings. I think one of the many reasons a lot of us thought that Reputation was finished was because back in 2023 in her Time magazine person of the year interview she said that the Reputation vault tracks were FIRE which kind of implied that everything was already done and dusted! The first listen to an original version without the weight of it being stolen hits so mf hard. I'm so proud of her and I can't imagine the jubilation she is feeling! I'm full of joy for Taylor and all of us. It's such a relief to not feel any guilt while listening to the former stolen versions. Finally I can listen to the acoustic versions of "Back To December" and "Haunted" again. But, like Bonny, I'm a complete Rep stan and knowing that it would come out one day was what kept me going. Daydreaming about what the re-recordings would sound like or the new artwork would look like was my everyday motivation. It helped me out of my devestation regarding the cancellation of the Vienna shows I had tickets for. I don't mean to sound greedy, but not getting a re-recording of rep makes her quest to reclaim her work incomplete for me. For me, it hasn't been about getting the vault songs. Rather I was stoked about the experience as a whole when yet another re-recording came our way. I am grateful that Debut is getting it's moment with the release of it's Taylor's Version (presumably next year on the occassion of Debut's 20th anniversary). It doesn't sit right with me, however, that rep is the only album that is omitted.

She should not be ashamed of leaving Calvin Harris, in my opinion, though perhaps the "I wanted to leave him; I needed a reason" indicates she might have been ashamed, since she did not just confront Calvin and say it's over (so far as we know). This is such a shocking day but such a miracle and a blessing!! Sooo many positives and overall the best TS news she could’ve given!! Yes, a little sad for what Rep TV could have been (and I think it's totally normal to be mourning that), but mostly I am just ecstatic for our girl and what this means to her... And for us! Really it's the best situation ever: she's right, Rep is already a perfect album (and I do think it would have suffered without Max Martin), but we're still getting the vault? Maybe more vault tracks than normal or more music videos? Also we are getting Debut TV?! Imagine if she created her very own Taylor Swift streaming service for all the tour films and then used this to premiere a new documentary?! (It makes SO much sense now why we haven't gotten a tour doc or anything yet, she was waiting to include this moment!). I have also been thinking ever since TTPD that she's also... ready to move on? Not that she hasn't enjoyed the rerecords and appreciated what they've brought her, but as she expresses in The Manuscript - she's gone through so much and revisiting these past lives can be a bit like digging up old trauma and reopening old wounds ("The story isn't mine anymore"). Especially for Rep TV as you talked about here... This was the period where we first became aware of her struggle for masters ownership, it was the breakdown of a long family-like relationship and trust in Scott, and the end of several friendships. It must be hard to revisit the beginnings of her and Joe's relationship too after TTPD (... Or maybe this deal was also a big inspiration for TTPD???) Maybe also creatively she's ready to shut this eras chapter and flex her muscles elsewhere a bit more? It allows her to focus on new things like her film? Anyways, what's also SO exciting is that she's definitely hinting to TS12 in this letter! Some things I've noticed so far: - The new logo - with diamonds on the sides. She's now feeling bejewelled? It's giving art deco, 1920s New York, classy, luxury, money, fancy, grown up, business lady - the 12 i in 'thiiiiiiiiiiiis' - the glittery background - is this album filled with glitter gel pen songs? - the fact that her website is closed apart from this page... are they prepping something? - the two sheets of paper.. is there a part 2 to this letter announcing something? I have never been so euphoric about something in my life. I know this is true love because I don't think I have ever been so happy for another person. This IS the best case scenario. I have always been the most excited about the rerecording of Debut because I know it will be the one that has so much potential to sound better than the original. What made me cry when I read the letter -- that I think most people aren't clocking -- is that this is the thing Taylor has wanted for 20 years and instead of just celebrating, she's thinking of the fans and how they will feel about it all. She laid all her cards on the table about the current status of the rerecords and her feelings and struggles about RepTV so that we had the full picture. She shouldn't be worrying about us right now, she should just be celebrating. Feels like we've bullied her too much. Hearing how much she was struggling to get RepTV right, that must have been so much pressure on her when the fans have been clowning and freaking out about it for 3 years. And on top of that, there's just some songs that are painful to revisit. I wouldn't want to rerecord that New Years Day bridge either. Rep has always been the one that would be the most difficult to capture the essence of, but also her mindset for. And also, I just want to point out the elephant in the room... the Matty Vault Tracks of it all. Assuming the "lowercase inside the vault" is about Rep, it might be hard to *also* revisit songs she wrote about pining for him. I also would have difficulty recording songs on an album where I have to revisit the whole world hating me AND singing love songs about the two men who broke my heart the most.

Overall, I’m definitely very ecstatic that she owns the rights to her original music again. But there is a sense of grief and mourning about rep tv as well. All that mystery, all that wonder of what could’ve been, what would’ve been, about reputation tv is forever going to remain a mystery unfortunately, (with the exception of the vault tracks hopefully) which is truly devastating. Anyone who is upset about not getting the last two re-recorded albums has quite literally missed the whole point of this whole project. She played the long game and has proved that all along, it was never about profit or a chance to put those albums back out there. But revisiting these songs is something she has regularly done, by performing them on the Eras Tour, as surprise songs etc. Do you really think that re-recording them makes such a big difference? I rather think she was not sure if she’d be able to do the original rep-album and -era justice. As she wrote, it’s all about reproducing the vibe and energy of that time and that’s almost impossible. I don't necessarily think that revisiting Joe love songs (and maybe Matty) would have been that much more difficult than revisiting the heartache of All Too Well, for example, even though they're more recent she seems really fully moved on. I think the thing that would have been most difficult would be trying to physically reproduce was that emotion backing Rep vocals. I honestly always felt like Reputation was perfect and i was scared that Rep TV would disappoint. I'm honestly so relieved that rep can't be touched and that she feels like it's perfect as it is. It never felt like the right time for Rep TV but this, buying back all her masters is so rep coded. What do you mean! This is Rep TV in the highest form, this is so "LWYMMD". I'm soooo happy for her, i've been crying tears of happiness. it feels like a cloud has been lifted and it's time for a new Era, we can now watch it Begin Again. This is the final chapter in the Manuscript and we can now finally say the war is over. I feel like so many of us don’t have people in our lives we can share this with so seeing your guy’s reaction is so special🫶🏻 I can’t express how happy I am for Taylor, as soon as I read the letter I cried tears of joy🥹 I feel like this is completely right and what Taylor is meant to be doing right now … since the eras tour has finished it’s felt like the last 2 rerecordings aren’t coming any time soon. I was expecting debut tv for the 20th anniversary (and that may still happen) but I really couldn’t place Rep and as sad as I am that I won’t be able to relive those memories with everyone, it just feels completely right for that album. I feel so happy for Taylor and this purchase. I have always loved reputation and recreating those feelings may not be healthy for her. I feel like it was a cathartic album as it is. I have been a huge rep clown, but her reasoning makes perfect sense. If it doesn't feel right for her, then I don't want it. This was her passion project. And she achived her biggest dream! She got what she wanted! I really really just want that rep vault though, whenever it's the right time. Debut is gonna sound entirely different from the og, so I am so so happy that we'll get that. But rep would probably sound very similar to the original anyway. At this point, it would just be unnecessary work to record the rest if only 1/4th is finished and she doesn't feel any passion for it. I also think ts12 is next and I am way more excited for that now!

I think this is the perfect ending to the masters saga. Our girl won. Reputation was so hated and she was so disappointed (thinking of the Miss Americana doc) and now for her to admit it was so perfect, there is nothing to improve? That is a win. We will get and celebrate the vaults and the joy she will now have with owning her own work. This is a HUGE step forward not just for artists but for ALL WOMEN. Scooter is over. Taylor is over it. Playlist update. I had a playlist on Apple Music called Taylor Discography where the 4 TV albums were in place of the originals. Wasn’t sure what to do at first. So I decided to make a whole new playlist where I have all the “songs” in the same order. However, if I happen to like a TV version better than the original, then I keep the newer version. (let’s all be honest, Taylor’s voice has dramatically improved over the years. It was great before but it has become iconic. Plus there are some TV versions where I think the production is much better). Anyway, that is what I have done.

Rep TV, what do you mean we aren’t getting Rep? the only album we aren’t getting is Rep. I’m so sorry. It was a lot and you were so emotional, you couldn’t help it, it was a genuine reaction that was beyond your control. I’ve always thought that Rep would be the hardest to recreate, the production, the emotion, etc. I can imagine 1) it’s too hard ; 2) emotionally she just isn’t there. We all heard her sing Lover every night and Call it What you Want as a secret song….. yea, she can’t redo Rep. there was just something about that time for her being in love that isn’t there now. it’s for the best. I know you are fine now, and i know it was just a lot all at once and Rep TV , etc. And I feel ya. I feel for you and we all know she doesn’t need to redo rep now. your reaction was so genuine and unexpected, but thats that emotions do, you can;t control them. its just real. sometimes it takes some processing. But I just feel that if we aren’t getting Rep TV, something is just missing, it just feels wrong. I read that she paid $360M for them. That’s less than what Shamrock paid for them, but they’ve made money on them since then. It was smart of Shamrock to sell them back to her, as their value would only decrease while they owned them. Now that Taylor owns them, the value will only increase. So cool!!

Jenny, I agree mostly. It’s been 2 1/2 weeks now since the announcement. I’ve been listening to both versions a lot. What I have come up with is… if you are an OG Swiftie and love nostalgia, you’ll probably love the OG versions, especially the first 3 albums where she sounds so young. But for her later albums, I love her vocal maturity and enjoy the improved production for many of the TVs. Either way, my kids and I have been happy as a clam (or clams). 😆
