Okay- I haven’t watched your reaction yet but I need to share my immediate thought on the album cover. I know everyone is talking about the similarity between the main album art and Ophelia but the first thing that came to my mind was the “Everytime” music video from Britney Spears. It starts out with her glammed up in Vegas, then the press and tough relationship and then her drowning in the tub until she wakes up. Taylor definitely took over the reins of our pop princess but there have been parallels in past music (If you seek Amy for example) and they have both been in the public eye and under so much scrutiny for years. I wonder if there will be another parallel between them shared somewhere in this album. I’M SO EXCITED TO EXPERIENCE THIS WITH YOU CHICKENSSSS❤️‍🔥

I genuinely think this is her best interview I love many articles for many reasons but as a debut swiftie this was crazy to me and it's probably because they aren't people trying to get a scoop or trying to figure her out but people who already knew everything she was talking about they just provided a space for her so say whatever she wanted about literally anything in the most relaxed way possible and I am so beyond thankful so have this. For the covers I love the Ophelia reference but the Green one (? Is my favorite because it's giving Perfect Blue and one thing about me is that I'm a Satoshi Kon STAN. I love Taylor in all her long or short album glory but I'm so curious about this album because it feels like she went in there like a polished knife I'm a bit spooked about having my security blanket (Jack) taken away but it's gonna be extremely fun to see where this goes especially now that Max Shellback and Taylor are on equal footing and if anything she's the one doing them a favor by going back to them.

100% Jason was handed a script that was carefully planned by Taylor. The entire podcast has her masterminding footprint all over it. Every question was a subtext Taylor wanted addressed. And she set herself up for the 2027 Grammys. It’s interesting that she’s targeting 2027 instead of 2026 and I think you guys hit it 2026 is too soon. I watched the movie Showgirls yesterday and planning on watching the movie ”the last showgirl” as well, to get in the vibe and get some perspective. And from ”Showgirls” alone I’m actually so fucked up. Cause thinking of one of the characters from that being like no I’m telling the story of MY life, of me as a whole and complex human being, from MY perspective, of everything you DONT see, . Like she’s channeling all these women before her that were passionate and ambitious about the arts and entertainment that both then and now gets exploited and only seen for the curated version ON stage and the potential value that can bring in (but also not in like a way where they are perceived as impressive and skilled and so hard working always, like they were/are seen as just pawns and props on a stage, and if you’re passionate and ambitious you had to play into the game by their rules, and so much of your worth/usefulness was in their looks and youth and your potential to be easily controlled). Like it was giving so much Clara Bow, Nothing New, The Lucky One, Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me. And to think to like hear one of these women themselves tell the world about THEIR life OFF the stage while being a very skilled performer and be a full person and not be defined by/perceived through all the spectators and exploiters eyes, and just get to they themself tell their OWN story of everything they ALSO are and everything that goes on BEHIND THE CURTAIN, goes into actually being able to put on the extremely impressive curated professional show, and have the whole world listen.. like that is what’s happening. Taylor are all those women and they are her, and with Taylor telling HER story as SHE wants to with all the moments important to her to convey all the things going on behind the curtain before and after what we see, in telling her story she’s also telling theirs. And all the visuals so far seems so inspired and influenced by the elements of a showgirl back then. No I’m SO fucked up and I’m gonna watch The Last Showgirl as well soon and that is supposedly more specifically centering the story of aging in this type of industry as a woman. And as someone living in Sweden WHAT! DO! YOU! MEAN! she’s spent the time HERE writing/creating and recording it!?!! Like HERE is where this story came to life!! No. No. No. NO. NO! No I was gagged when she said that. I’m already by this point this fucked up, like.. ❤️‍🔥 (Also I’m guessing it’s not gonna include anything about owning her masters right? If it was written during Europe leg and she started negotiations after the tour was already over and she found out she got them not much before she made that post. Cause she said it was a few months after the Super Bowl I think, which was February 9th this year I looked up, so like all of this is well after she wrote and probably finished the album cause she’s said it takes around 9 months, or something like that right, to produce all the vinyls and physical stuff and so on. So, if anything, it might touch on her thinking about/wanting the masters, or around the rerecordings project, just considering the timeline not that I’m saying she absolutely did write about it, but it was way to early for it to include anything about actually owning them right? Just wanted to clear that up for myself)

If you had told me last week that Taylor would do a 2-hour interview that we could watch, I would never have believed it.So much to say, but I will confine myself to one theory. 1. Sabrina stans have been complaining that Sabrina has not released a second single prior to her album coming out on August 29, questioning the wisdom of Sabrina's team. 2. On her Spotify Max Martin playlist, the song 22 was added 2 weeks before the other songs, and there are 22 songs in the playlist. 3. August 22 is a Friday, one week before Sabrina's album. 4. Taylor has no songs eligible for the Grammys in this year's cycle, and Grammy eligibility ends August 31. 5. Taylor has never won Song of the Year at the Grammys. Conclusion: The Life of a Showgirl will be released as a single on August 22, allowing Taylor to put all of her Grammy eggs for this cycle in one basket, separating Song of the Year from the album categories, and amping up anticipation for Sabrina's album.

The emphasis on the happy upbeat nature of the album is FASCINATING with track one being about The Fate of Ophelia… her drowning, whether accidental or a suicide, “represents a tragic end to her vulnerability and the societal pressures she faced.” The model in the famous painting of Ophelia looks beautiful, with every flower perfectly placed—and after depicting this glamour and perfection in Ophelia’s death, the model contracted pneumonia and died shortly thereafter. I am absolutely GAGGED. I think we’re in for a lot more than a happy-go-lucky vibe here. A peek behind the curtain indeed.

I think the album after Midnights was intended to be the album closing the book that she opened in Rep. Random thoughts: I feel like people guessing about the track list (trying to tie a lot of the album to travis etc) didn’t listen to her as she literally told us what the album is about: what life as Taylor swift really looks and feels like once she exits the stage after a show. For example, I’ll be surprised if father figure isn’t about betrayal by a mentor or the promise to take care of a young star that isn’t fully upheld. Ruin the friendship makes me think of how the industry pits women against each other but perhaps she’ll be saying that she/they won’t let the industry ruin their friendships anymore. Based on her description of the album, I could see Clara Bow, I can do it with a broken heart, and whose afraid of lil old me being early drafts for this album that she liked but knew wouldn’t end up fitting into the tight 12 for Showgirl.

As a track 5 it’s going to be a more vulnerable one obviously, and I’ve been thinking how painful it must be for her if there is a rift with her and Blake because of how close she was to their kids. It would make sense to me for that type of song to be a track 5. Just a thought!! She just said they’d been keeping a secret for that long but it appears she started writing and recording it in late 2022 in NO with the majority written in mid 2023 so I think the 2 years of secrets was just to do the fingers and that it had crossed back to 2022 than implying 24 months of writing had been happening for TTPD

Guys I have some absolutely ridiculous clowning but let’s get into it. Taylor mentioned 1973. I was just taking a shower and as I was putting on my shirt afterwards something occurred to me. The shirt says PRO ROE 1973 and it’s merch from an org called Noise For Now which sells music and merch to support reproductive rights (90% of the proceeds from this particular shirt go to Planned Parenthood). Anyway it reminded me that Roe v Wade was codified into law in 1973. It was overturned in 2022. What if CANCELLED! is a song about that? An abortion bop, if you will.
