I did my own rankings a couple weeks ago and the most interesting thing I realized is how I'm very extreme on Red. Some of my absolute favorites are on Red TV but then there's a few I really don't like. Which is why I rank 1989 & rep ahead of Red. But whatever. I love them all as they are my 3 favorite albums. Anyway, looking forward to watching!

So hard now with so many songs. Top 40, can you do the album breakdown? Which album had most in the top 10, top 20, etc. where did Rep fall? Can you predict off the top of your head which album prevailed, then count them up and see how close you came?

Just finished mine. Top 3: ATW10, OOTW, Delicate. Sounds right to me. Emily = Delicate slander. Rounding out Top 10, some changes have happened. IKP, Enchanted, Ivy, August, KOMH, CIWYW, and Cruel Summer. Surprised IKP and Enchanted in my top 5, but I do love those songs. As far as top 30 goes, the album breakdown is as follows: Fearless (1), SN (2), Red TV (5), 1989 (6), Reputation (6), Lover (3), Folklore (2), Evermore (5) with Reputation having 3 in the top 10. But it was the top 31-50 that surprised me. Album breakdown for top 31-50 is as follows: Red TV (7), 1989 (1), Reputation (3), Lover (3), Folklore (4), Evermore (2). Red TV completely took over 31-50. But, in the top 20, Red underperformed with only the top spot ATW10 and #20 spot Begin Again. 20-50 Red TV excelled. Still Reputation had more top 10 and top 20. Bottom 20 not surprising, most of the debut songs, oh but We were Happy made the bottom 5 along with ME!. No surprise there. And, Shake it Off is in my bottom 30. Here things were a bit weird, I wouldn't have thought Fifteen was in my bottom 40, or Bad Blood. At 49-51 Better Man, Babe, Forever Winter. #75 ATW, ouch, but I was ranking it low simply because ATW10. So, while not really accurate, probably accurate for how I was voting, right before Today Was a Fairytale at #76, but I love that bop. #100 IBYTAM. #125 Picture to Burn. #150 Teardrops on my Guitar. #174 Crazier. I think mine is fairly accurate. Besides ATW10 taking place of ATW original, my top 3 has not changed. I'm glad evermore made a good showing with 3 in the top 15 Ivy, evermore and 'tis the damn season. Surprised Folklore underperformed with only 2 in the top 20. Ranking albums based on top 30 placements: #1 tied Reputation/1989 #2 tied Evermore/Red TV

Red has ALWAYS been this way for me too Joe!! I’ve never considered it one of my favourite TS albums (I still put folklore/evermore, 1989 and speak now above it - this is Em) but it holds some of my favourite TS songs of all time and some of my least favourite. What an iconicccc album though. Red really is THAT bitch 🤣

If it makes you feel any better, Em, just think about any other artist having Daylight as their 100th best song. Or The Archer as their 140th best song (which I think you are rating way too low, by the way). Any other artist would be thrilled to write a song as good as either of those.

I loved this video but I feel like it would be great if the next time you did a ranking it would be with „tiermaker“ or something. I feel like it would take the same amount of time but it would be a bit easier to follow because sometimes its a bit hard to read both of your screens at the same time when you‘re going a bit faster. But anyways I loved the video!! (Also I actually really like Eyes Open but I know that something has to be at the bottom)

Ahhhhh can’t wait to watch this! Just out of interest, have you guys ever considered any of the queer interpretation of Taylor’s lyrics? That’s something I’ve been fathoming lately and there are really good podcasts dedicated to it. Lots of her songs mention a lot of queer history that gives soooo much more meaning to her songs if you interpret them in that way. I’m not in any way assuming her sexuality, but I think there’s enough chat about it online, that I thought it would be interesting for you guys to acknowledge and speak about. For me, Red falls off a cliff after WANEGBT for 5 songs (Holy Ground excepted) & then it's good again. And the Vault stuff I love but I can't rank the TV's against the non TV's cause it's not fair. The first 8 songs on Red are elite Taylor so it's all how you evaluate these things!

This inspired me to FINALLY redo the song sorter (for the first time since just after folklore came out) and then edit my playlist. Embarrassingly, I now have two playlist. One with my top 33 (🙈) and another with 34-54 bc I just couldn’t leave the ones that fell right outside fully off 😂. This is really a side note, but Jon Batiste for Allbum of the Year at the Grammys??? Really? They could have gone with Olivia Rodrigo like I expected, or Taylor, or even Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, and they went with Jon Batiste! This has to be one of the worst Grammy decisions ever. In 10 years no one will remember this album, but everyone will remember Evermore and Sour.

I love Taylor and Olivia but the grammys are supposed to be about the album itself and not about how successful or famous the artist is. I think both Evermore Sour and Happier Than Ever are spectacular and would have deserved to win as well (Evermore is my favorite album of all time) but to say that Jon Batiste doesn’t deserve to win is ridiculous. He deserves it just as much as they do even if he is not as well known. You should respect him for his craft and acknowledge his hard work and dedication. If Justin Bieber had won I would be FURIOUS because he doesn’t know the first thing about music but Jon is a professional and successful Jazz musician and just because his style of music isn’t as mainstream or popular as Taylors or Olivias does not mean its worth less. I would have loved to see Taylor Olivia or Billie take the award home but to call this “one of the worst grammy decisions ever” is ridiculous

I have to agree with Lea...have you listened to WE ARE? I'm a die hard Taylor Swift fan and love evermore, but there were so many great albums nominated and Jon Batiste most definitely deserved that win. His album is on another level and if you haven't listened to it (and you are a lover of music and appreciate storytelling from other points of view) then you should give it a chance.

He had more nominations than anyone else so maybe that should've been a sign of something. I never believed Olivia was going to win everything cause, to me, it's hard to explain but it feels like they gave her proper recognition with the awards she did win. That album isn't like Adele's 21 when she won everything.

The plus about being a newish fan of Taylor is all of her albums are between 5-12 months old to me right now & I have 9 to listen to so none of them really get worn out. The negative is I really would've liked to experience everything when it happened. Even Red TV (my first album release experience, Fearless TV was right when I was dipping my toes in). And I've looked at what the special songs at the concert I could've gone to were & all that stuff. I'd trade for that. But the plus with the albums all being still pretty new to me even if I tried to make up for lost time and was in the Top 0.1% of Taylor Spotify listeners in 2021 despite not starting til late March...anyway!
