Amy Tollafield

This is crazy to watch in 2024.... she talks about each album being an "Era" and in talking about ATW, the older boyfriend having adult things like a french press. As a Manuscript stan I'm dying

Amy Tollafield

And she uses the word "electric" and "typewriter"

Ananya

Thought the same. Yes! I’m watching all the videos while eating. 🙈 There’s so much I wanna say. What if female rage: the musical is somewhat related to the film she’s working on?

Ananya

Wow! You know so much about astrology.

Ananya

Can you tell me something about me? I was born in November. So, probably Scorpio sun. And Capricorn moon. Virgo Venus ig. Not sure

Brooklyn Lundy

Please do a ranking video of Taylor Swift’s best music videos

Tara Bartley

Man I was just going back through old chats and reacts videos and found this one and was re watching and Taylor said she’s fascinated where the age the character Sadie was playing kinda could fit into her parents home but also kind of not and also kind of wants a French press and that’s giving “in the age of him she wished she was 30 and made coffee every morning in a French press, afterwards she only ate kids cereal, and couldn’t sleep unless it was in her mothers bed” and also there was a movie she said she watched that was very voyeuristic and the neighbors saw someone get murdered and she was like I’ve never seen that but I could write from that perspective and that’s giving “now you’re in the backyard turned into good neighbors, your wife waters flowers i wanna kill her “ and this is all making me think of that interview that I believe was also in midnights era when she said something like “how far in advance can I hint at something in advance? Can I leave Easter eggs for things 3 years from Now? Can I even plan that far?” And we got TTPD almost 3 years later 🤯

sleepless_dream (Lauren)

she mentioned the movie Rear Window which is about a man looking into his neighbors windows. which made me think of I Look In People's Windows.

Tara Ludwig

I thought I look in people's windows is akin to the Black Dog where she "watched" him go into the Black Dog on an app on her phone. I think the "window" is peoples instagram accounts, Twitter, etc. If she is still internet friends with his friends and they post pics of him at their party/outing/gathering, etc, then that's how she "looks in people's windows." for him. Or since he's famous, then Buzzfeed or other newsfeed sites will do as well. To me it's irrelevant which "him" it is in this one.

Mackenzie

I have a friend who was at this interview!!! He sat directly behind Sadie.

Jessie Anderson

Has anyone picked up on when Taylor says “prove it” in this interview? Fun to think of that as a nod to the Eras tour because I believe she would have been planning/rehearsing at this time. Not that we would have ever known this at the time but it’s so fun in hindsight! 🤩

Hannah

Oh I’m coming to this late but I can’t believe no one has commented on the fact that a red scarf is a long standing metaphor for losing your virginity. So I fully took her ”so when I say that it’s a metaphor and I’m going to leave it at that” so cheekily I fully took it to mean that 🫣

Rumsy

Your matching necklaces are ADORABLE

Fede

omg she mentions the french press here!!! ahhh the manuscript > "In the age of him, she wished she was thirty And made coffee every morning in a French press"

Juliane

Bonny used to wear a lot of t-shirts. I miss that.

Cait13

Movies Tay Mentions: 16 candles Breakfast Club Devils Backbone Pan's Labyrinth Shape of Water Rear Window Sense and Sensability The Way We Were Love Story Kramer vs Kramer Mara's Story (???) The Souvenir part 1&2 Directors: Guillermo Del Toro John Huges

Bridget Mac

i LOVED watching this video, i’m so glad u guys did too!! i felt like it had been so long since i heard her talk for an elongated period of time .. especially about the short film !!

Laura Stimpfl

Omg let's gooo, this interview spilled so much teaaa

Shatha Sukkar

Ahhh so excited to watch this! Almost an hour and a half long video thank you for making it ❤️😊

Rebecca

Omg literally listening to Taylor swift when you released this 😂

Jack

The way my mood got so much brighter when I saw this notification

Nele

let's goooo <3 so excited to watch this with you!!

chatsandreacts

I agree we adored just hearing her for so long, a GIFT!!

Delphine

Can't wait to watch this!!

Axsha

I just got back from college so I'm gonna get comfy and watch ittt

Ava Jeffs

it’s giving mirrorball (midnights version)(deep blue but you painted me golden version). You guys always know how to make my morning :) about to bake some croissants so this is the perfect accompaniment 💛

Léa

Gonna watch it after work with a nice cup of 🍵🍵 girls you are blessing us again with the length of the video thank you ✨💕

Anna-Liesa

Ahh I am so excited, I haven’t watched the Q&A so I could watch it together with you guys😍

Faith

She just announced a limited edition vinyl and cd with bonus tracks!!

Maria Carmen

I already know this is going to be OFFENSIVE!! Looking forward to watching, thanks for working hard on this!!

Ava Jeffs

also, dying to know if these remix tracks are features because that would make the 13 tracks on the original track list so personal and true to the vulnerable album concept. this whole album continues to give 1989 energy but more mature and I’m deeply concerned for what’s to come.

Emily Hopkins

LITERALLY HAVE TEARS IN MY EYES LAUGHING AT YOU BOTH LIKE COULD NOT DEAL WITH MISS SWIFT IN THE SAME ROOM AS US 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Allison

Had to pause the video to simply say Bonny, your hair is looking simply ICONIC in this video!!!!

e.

btw the guy is cameron bailey, he's a director and also the owner of the film festival, so he's lowkey iconic

Ava Jeffs

ok, last thing haha but it seems like Taylor’s really considering the timlessness of her work with how she’s celebrating this short film and drawing inspiration from classic movies and the 70s with this album. Im so proud of how she’s demanding her work be taken seriously. One day my kids will ask about William Shakespeare and I’ll straight up read them the lyrics to ivy :)

Cassandra

STARTING WITH AM TO PM?????? You are my people

Shikhar

Em and bonny, I just wanna say a huge thankyou for the time and effort that you both put into this, its so fulfilling to watch someone being just as excited about something as you❤️

Hannah Bessette

I haven’t seen anyone mention it here but I feel like it’s pretty clear that Taylor and team have been leaning into promo and film festivals for ATWTMVTVFTV in hopes of a Grammy run (edit: and Oscar run). The Grammy eligibility period ends Sept 30th, so that makes sense why nothing else was released after Red TV this year, with Midnights releasing in the next eligibility period.

farah abed

also i've seen billboard post that the short film is definitely eligible for an oscar nom which is just a lot😭😭 so i also think she must have been aiming for that too AAHHHH!

MarkH

Although I generally agree with this I think the promotion is more about winning an Oscar than a Grammy. There is a short film category in the Oscars, and I think that is a big part of what is going on here. That is why she is going to film festivals I think. Of course, I hope she wins Oscars for this and for "Carolina"! But I do think she will hold off on a lead single for Midnights until October because of the Grammys.

Hannah Bessette

Omg yes!! Between Oscar and Grammy nomination announcements we are all going to pass away 😭😭

Hannah Bessette

Oh for sure the Oscars as well. I was just thinking how Red TV is eligible for the Grammys and it could fit in categories such as album, record, song of the year (for vault songs) with ATMTMVTVFTV being potentially eligible for the music film category due to its limited theatrical release.

MarkH

Thanks for this! Amazingly fast turnaround on the video! I do think if you both ever ended up in a room with Taylor, she would find a way to make you comfortable; she has a lot of experience with that, and I trust you both to rise to the occasion!

MarkH

Thinking about it a little more, I wonder if part of what she is trying to do with these film festival appearances is to get Sadie and Dylan recognition for their performances. She is at a point in her career where she can really think about doing this in addition to getting awards (like the Oscar I hope the short film gets) for herself.

MarkH

One more thing: her dress here is restrained elegance, and I feel like that is what she goes for when she is in director mode. As opposed to the "make everyone's eyes pop out of their head" VMAs dress, which completely stunned me when she showed up on the red carpet, or the fun-loving blue VMAs after-party romper.

Hannah S

I just feel so happy knowing that while Taylor may get burnt out by the media or politics or everyday life, she is never burnt out creatively. I always worried about the day she might retire or move on from her musical career but this interview reassured me that she will always continue to create and share with us and that’s such a privilege to be on the receiving end of ❤️

blake

AHHH what if all the "chapters" she releases on spotify (i.e. the sleepless nights chapter, forever is the sweetest con chapter) are referring to chapters in a book SHE is writing?!

Cecilia Sparke

So glad you reacted to this :) She looks so unbelievably stunning and amazing. Interesting the theory that her outfits now are hints to the events of what certain songs are about on Midnights. When she sang the Carole King tribute, 'Will you still love me tomorrow' I thought it was a hint for 1989 because her outfit was so like what she wore at the Grammys when she sang Ootw, the night she won best album for 1989 ... but maybe that was a Midnights hint back then - it would make sense for that night to be a big moment for her to reflect on.

Maryelba Soto

I´m so happy, you guys have improved my day so much u can´t even imagine, sharing this love and respect for Taylor is something beyond amazing, thank you for sharing these moments with us! luv you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sandrine

guys we should do sessions on discord where we collectively watch the movies Taylor talked about here

BratNDaHwz

I love how she mentions Nora Ephron because her guitarist Max Bernstein (and son of Pulitzer Prize winner Carl Bernstein) is her son. He's the one during the reputation stadium tour with the long hair. He also is playing on the rerecordings too.

Samskie

Came here to comment that. I just flashed back to secondary school there for a moment 😅

Cassandra

It was the first song my cousin and I made a coordinated dance to hahahaha

Liam Mcfarlane

If she is doing a documentary about the process of re-recording, I would love if she gave us some Short Film behind the scenes content because it just seems like they all worked so well together and I just need to see them hang out 😂

Brooke Penniman

bonny your new hair 😍😍😍😍I'm obsessed!!

Laura Stimpfl

Omg guys as someone who will probably study musical theater, a Taylor Swift musical would absolutely wreck me and would be the BEST thing ever! Like she would be SO good. She writes unbelievable songs, she knows how to set a stage and how to coordinate with dancers and choreographers... Like have you seen the speak now tour? That's a Broadway musical right there

Jennifer

Me: ooo a patreon video while I eat lunch! bonny & em: here is nearly an hour and a half of fathoming TS art

chatsandreacts

baking croissants omg stop, mirrorball but you painted me golden indeeeeed. I am so concerned that apparently it is labeled pop now, definitely giving mature 1989 vibes can you imagine that that is going to do to our souls? I want an album of styles and wildest dreams with a hit of 70s, take me there. Also love that idea of the remix's and the original tracklist just being her, wow I need to be hearing it.

chatsandreacts

Thats so cute Anna-Liesa!! Hope you enjoyed 🫶🏼

chatsandreacts

Aw thanks Allison!! I just got it a little bit lighter 🫶🏼

chatsandreacts

hahaha yeah if you keep watching we agree he is iconic!

chatsandreacts

Thank you lovely! Its honestly a dream come true for us!! So glad you are enjoying the content 🫶🏼

chatsandreacts

wow this is all such good points and info that I wasn't thinking about thanks guys, so interesting what you said about not getting a single till October because of the grammys Mark. But part of me also thinks does she still care that much about the grammys? although she really does need to be given song of the year eventually! I agree about the oscars though, wow she might take some two!

chatsandreacts

haha I agree I am sure she would and we would definitely try to rise to that occasion, still makes me feel ill thinking about it though 😭

chatsandreacts

Thats a great point, she is so selfless like that, I think this short film will do good things for them especially Sadie who is booming right now! She deserves it all!

Victória Martins

I read somewhere she hired a team that specializes in prepping films for oscar nominations, so I think we're pretty safe to assume she's aiming towards that!

chatsandreacts

I agree Hannah that made me feel so good as well, I really think creating means as much to her as her music means to us. She gets its!

chatsandreacts

aw Maryelba! Thats so sweet thank you for being here 🥰

Arne Cabigas

just subscribed just cause i saw bonny's ig story now. swiftie from the Philippines here!!!

Jackie

Thanks for the vid guys! On kind of a side note, I think I watched a different person’s recording of the interview because I was not really able to hear what the audience was shouting at her throughout the interview! It definitely makes me understand some of the discourse on twitter where people were annoyed/mad with the people shouting things because TIFF is apparently a more professional event where that kind of thing doesn’t normally happen. Plus with someone throwing flowers on stage that must’ve been scary or possibly triggering for her. Idk just something I was more aware of when watching this person’s recording. If I was at the event I’d probably be annoyed with those people too 🤷🏻‍♀️

M3L

I think I've already said this but I think it would be awesome if Taylor did a secret session reaction video type thing. Where a handful of YouTubers got to listen to the single or something early so they could post the reaction right when the song comes out.

Jaimie C

Money on Taylor Swift becoming the next Barbara Streisand! Singer. Producer. Director. Actor. #EGOT #legend Gonna be a busy October for TS - Amsterdam looks to be an incredible movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLs2xxM0e78

Sam Obrien

once again your vid has completely turned a bad week around! Love you both so much. I actually rewatched this talk for the 2nd time (lol) last night and then you dropped this today! This was SUCH an offensive conversation and I completely lost it when she described the way Sadies character's apartment resembled aspects of Dylans when she's older to symbolize the good and bad that she'd taken from the relationship. Ugh just a perfect visual. I NEED you to react to the Tribeca talk bc it was also SO insightful! XX

Clash Fan

FYI the movies she references by Guillermo Del Toro are excellent films but they are also dark, and creepy. Pan's Labyrinth in particular I found to be visually stunning, scary as hell and very dark. They are folklore types of tales and most of those were originally often scary and dark so I can see the connection. "Rear Window" is a Hitchcock film from the 50's that stars James Stewart and Grace Kelly. It was her last film before she married and became the Princess of Monaco. Her look in the film is very iconic though and honestly looks as if it could have inspired a lot of Taylor's Red era wardrobe. She also mentions John Cassavetes who was an actor as well as a film maker, his biggest acting fame would probably be as the husband in the late '60s horror classic "Rosemary's Baby". He made quite a few very well regarded films, mostly which starred his wife Gena Rowlands. I'm pretty sure the film they reference here is "A Woman Under The Influence" as there are some incredibly raw and very real feeling scenes in that film. Finally she references Nora Ephron, who has either written or written and directed some of the most iconic romantic comedies of all time. "When Harry Met Sally" and "Sleepless in Seattle" are two of her most famous. I was a film student in my former life, so I thought I could help you out with your list. :)

Charlotte Nixon

Can someone PLEASE make a list of all of the films she referenced! I need to go watch them ALL

MarkH

Totally agree. Did you know some Broadway musicians did a show of Taylor's songs, Broadway-style? You can find it on Youtube; Google "Broadway sings Taylor Swift"; Tim McGraw's daughter Gracie does "You Belong With Me", among many others.

MarkH

Yes, but welcome to Taylor Swift's life. This happens all the time; sometimes you can see it freak out the interviewers, who have never seen anything like it.

Sadie T

Omg only 20 secs in and am to pm 😂😂 what a tune!! The music video, was it just me who wanted a fluff stool I could roll on 🙈

Jenna Aguirre

I am loving the frequency of your uploads! Hopefully, you both enjoy how many videos you are making too!! 💕

tillie

I kinda believe that the lyrics in all too well that come after the time jump in the short film have been written now and that the rest would be from the original version. It would make sense for them to be kinda like her "book".

Alice

How offensive that Joe was also at TIFF but they went separately and didn’t even acknowledge each other 😆

Cinetati

I haven’t finished yet but I want to react to the part on taylor might not have put the age reference in the first time and I 100% disagree. I mean she might edit some of the lyrics but this was definitely in the first version. I pretty much had the same relationship around the same age and it was something that you're definitely aware and feel in the moment especially since he probably used it as an argument to stop the relationship so it's totally something that she would have had reference in the first version (and probably was edit out the first to not put Jake on the spot back then) also after reading the diaries and seeing how she already wrote her song at 13 and how aware she already was, it doesn’t seem like something that couldn’t have happened.... :) <3

M3L

I haven't seen if anyone has pointed this out already, but we also know that the original ATW was recorded. She said on Jimmy Fallon's show that she started jamming and riffing and ATW came out with extra verses and instrumentals that made it almost 15 minutes long. Her sound guy recorded the jam session and gave it to her mom. Taylor sent that recording to Liz Rose for help editing it down. So I'm hoping we get the original, raw, recording one day!!

Maria Carmen

Ohhh, I would travel all the way to NYC in a split second for this!

moza

I always look forward to your commentary <3!! I was wondering if you guys could upload your first reaction to the short film of all too well on patreon since you couldn’t upload it on youtube due to copyright issues. so much love <33

Derick Mitchell Matthews

Thank you so much for reacting, Taylor's journey to indisputable Goddess is always awesome to hear from her firsthand and them shady Swifties near the end were really pushing her patience 😭. Counting my midnights until the 21st! 😉

Kesha

You guys could watch those movies as a Patreon video! Thanks for reacting!

Cara M

We love a Sagittarius storytelling Queen with Cancer Moon emotional intelligence & Capricorn Mercury proficiency!

Steven Hanley

I love how Bonny is wearing a Bohemian Rhapsody shirt when this is all sort of about ATW 10 minute version. After all when Bohemian Rhapsody was first created "When the band wanted to release the single in 1975, various executives suggested to them, that at 5 minutes and 55 seconds it was too long, and would never be a hit" which really resonates with ATW, what the heck to executives know, lets the artist (and fans) choose!

Katie

Do we think Taylor's wearing a weave or has extensions to fill out her hair's thickness? Her braid on the Evermore album cover is so thin that I figured that was her own hair, but now her hair is HUGE.

CAM

That would be a wonderful Tshirt for the merch store!!! "I am the embodiment of what Taylor teaches/taught"
