I was lucky enough to meet Andrea at the 1989 Tour and she is just as sweet as she seems in this. I thanked her for raising such an incredible person and she told me to go home and tell my mom the same 😭 and then she gave my best friend and I free floor seats to the show for the next night. She is such an angel ♥️

Loved this! So she's 20 here when she toured Fearless, correct? So this is already post John Mayer? Only reason I ask is because holy shit is she freaking young. Visually seeing that is wigging me out. I probably would not have even thought about it at all but Midnights is still in heavy rotation for me.

That was intense, particularly the end with her mom. She has said that The Best Day is one of the hardest songs for her to sing but she did it perfectly and looked so happy as well. I was certainly in tears myself, especially when Andrea says that iconic thing at the end there. I'm sure you know this, but Caitlin "Tree" actually sings backup vocals on Better Man (TV), so she is in fact still connected to Taylor a bit. I really enjoyed this and would like to hear more from her band and dancers nowadays as well.

I love these videos, they're so fun!! I know y'all probably wouldn't want to go out of order like this...but I almost feel like it would be SO fun if y'all watched all of the tours before Taylor kicks off The Eras Tour in a few weeks! Thought it might be a fun way for all of us to get ready, but with that being said, I know it's nice to keep things in their own eras. Just a thought. Loved this!💛

So I don't know this with certainty, but this is my guess of how Taylor picks her dancers. She has frequently worked with choreographer Tyce Diorio. You can see him in the BTS videos for Shake It Off, LWYMMD, ME!, etc. He was a frequent choreographer/judge on So You Think You Can Dance. I sometimes notice dancers from that show in Tay Tay's music videos/performances. Specifically, Fik-Shun is in Shake It Off and BluPrint was in her AMA Artist of the Decade performance (the Blank Space section). All of this to say, I think she relies on the expertise of her choreographer to choose some if not all of her dancers, especially if it's for a one-off performance. If it's tour dancers, I bet she has much more of a heavy hand in the selection since she'll be spending a lot of time with them and has been burned in the past.

I just finished part 3 bc of ya’ll and I can’t believe I hadn’t ever actually watched journey to fearless - it’s such an iconic lil documentary, and I loved looking back on Tay’s first headlining tour, especially ahead of ERAS!!!! Also have had debut on repeat and wtf I forgot how hard that album slaps - like I’m having my fathoming with Tied together with a smile and Mary’s song - fuck it’s so good lol!!!!!!

This episode was so GOOD! Particularly the end had me in tears. It is so special the relationship Taylor and her mum have, and it must be so strange for Andrea to look at her daughter performing in an arena to so many fans and reconcile that image with the image of Taylor as a little baby. Anyways, I watched a really interesting YT video about the logistics of concert tours (the channel was Wendover Productions) and they explained it really well. I really recommend the video, but generally speaking the A-party, Taylor and her inner circle, fly to the next destination, but the B-party, which is the band, dancers and backup singers generally take a different route on the bus. But it wouldn't surprise me if Taylor had a more comfortable setup for her B-Party, especially because she has been working with her band and backup singers for more than a decade now.

Oh my god she also played The Best Day on Red tour on Mother's Day! My date for Red tour was 5/12/13 which happened to be Mother's Day that year and she took a second to play it acoustic for her mom. I was there with my mom (I was 16) and I had completely broken down cause that song makes me absolutely sob and my mom grabbed my hand, had me turn to look at her and sang "I had the best day with you today" to me. It's one of my most favorite memories with her <3

FYI the crowd beginning to scream in that last chorus on TWAF is because in that moment on the screen they show her and Taylor L kissing in the movie Valentines Day! I actually will never forget that moment!!!

so i’m watching this super late but taylor actually flies her band and dancers from city to city on tour, and sometimes home during the week when they’re off. they take commercial flights but most big artists still have their touring crew travel by bus so she treats hers better than most.

and no taylor doesn’t take a bus either. she stays in the city she’s playing in for the whole weekend and then immediately flies home to whichever one of her houses is closest and she stays there for the week and then flies to the next city in time for soundcheck day 1
