I was at this show! As soon as she asked the fans to bring kindness and gentleness to our internet interactions, I think I literally stopped breathing until she confirmed she was playing Dear John. Best moment of the whole show, no contest. I have seen a fair number of people pushing back at her message ahead of the song by commenting that her releasing WCS so recently is clearly proof that she was lying, that she does still care just as much about something that happened so long ago, and that she shouldn’t be defending him from angry fans at all, but I disagree. I think it’s likely that she does still care about what happened in that situation, but that she saw the amount of hate directed at Jake G. when Red TV came out and was pretty horrified, because she knows personally what it’s like to have a large number of people come after you online all at once, so is making a direct plea to the fans not to repeat that behavior this time around. I also wonder if a small part of her wants to avoid it happening again because it would be giving a massive amount of attention to an unworthy man, and she would rather the fans just focus on the music and celebrating that she will own it, rather than attacking someone who deserves no further acknowledgment from the people who love Taylor. Regardless of her reasoning, this was classy, and also one of the best moments I have had in recent memory will be singing that song at the top of my lungs in a room with that many other people. Amazing.

Canadian Swiftie here! I know a lot of people were hoping she’d announce international dates in Canada but I wasn’t surprised. It doesn’t make sense for her to come back to Canada after her US shows. Our biggest cities are ALL super close to the border and other cities she was set to visit so if she was going to go, she would have made it a North America tour. I got tickets to Seattle (2 hour drive from Vancouver) because I knew she wasn’t going to come. She didn’t even come during Rep. Love you both and this community.
