Cornelia Street being so small and hidden reminds me of her love for Joe (well, at the time). it was strong, it was cozy and she loved it but they were very private about it compared to her other relationships. and cornelia street is very hidden compared to the rest of the streets in new york.

I really felt you when you said it's a city where you can get lost without actually getting lost! That's soso true... I lived in the city during the Rep era. Back then I was pretty depressed, confused, and honestly felt really lost.. Now I'm grateful that I was able to fathom her feelings and the city while living there at the same time as she was. She writes about her life, and she lives in New York, a lot of the time. It makes sense that New York would be the setting or background for a lot of her music. "We're singing in the car, getting lost upstate," in the original ATW is a New York reference. She is talking about upstate New York. It just dawned on me that people who don't live in the US might not get the reference. It's fun to experience places you take for granted through visitors' eyes.

DC is laid out similarly in a grid numbers & letters. With some cut through a on the diagonal, but it’s a very easy city to navigate as well… not nearly as vertical as NYC tho

This was special! Thank you!! 🐦💙 It is crazy how connected to NYC Taylor has always been and that you got to be there to fathom. As I was watching, I also thought back to your reading of her Lover diaries, because in an May 2003 entry (vol. 2), Taylor writes about going to New York for her vocal lessons, writing "Smoky Black Nights" while there, and then going shopping with her mom. So we may potentially have connections to Debut TV, and Fearless ('The Best Day') also. Also, it was not until today that I recognized that Centennial Park would have been in Nashville, not NYC, if Taylor was there when Joe was 16. I had always assumed 'invisible string' was a New York song. 😬🙃

I totally get what you mean about Cornelia street. I think what makes the song so special is that you would really never have to go on it because it’s not one of the main streets to get to another place, so you really could choose to never walk it again 🥹 always been a dream of mine to live in NYC after college, there’s nothing like it :)

I feel like you would both die to know this fun fact. When I was in LA for the eras tour me and my boyfriend went to an outdoor flea market and it was just the cutest thing ever. I'm just shopping around and stumble across this booth with a photo of Taylor buying a bench from that vendor. I guess she was there at 15 with her dad and its like the pride and joy of this market vendor and it just made me so so happy and I could not fathom her just out and about thrift shopping.

My name is Gabriel and I I’m from Mexico (so I apologize in advance if I make any mistakes 😅) and I was in NYC the same week you where there too! The coolest (and saddest thing) is that I was just a few blocks away from you the same day you went to Cornelia Street! I was keeping track of you in your instastories and when I saw you were there I was eating at a nearby Five Guys in Greenwich Village so I hurried to finish my meal and rushed to the same spot you had just shared a story at like 10 minutes before, sadly you weren’t there anymore ☹️. I would’ve loved to have taken a picture with you guys 🥹! But I’m so happy we got to share the same experience of walking Cornelia Street on the exact same day 🫶🏻! It was so incredibly magical and unbelievable! I couldn’t help having the song on repeat in my head for the rest of the day! I don't know if the both of you ever been to Los Angeles, but it's a must go destination for Swifties. It's home to the Crypto Arena (formerly known as Staples Center) where the Grammys are held every year. Then there's the L.A. Convention Center where Taylor won her first 2 Grammys for White Horse & performed Cardigan, August, & Willow in 2021 for the Grammys. You can stand on the same spot where she won Album of the Year for folklore. Then there's the Grammy Museum across the street from the arena, all part of L.A. Live. You'll also see plaques in L.A. Live on the sidewalks where it says the winners of the Big 4 categories at the Grammys. You'll see Taylor's 4 AOTY victories on those plaques.
