Development Update! (Patreon)

Good Monday, everyone.

I’m writing to you from my short vacation… and on my birthday. 🥳

Before I get into the birthday chaos: some of you in Discord already know, but for those who don’t, here’s the update no developer wants to write:

When I turned on my PC, the screen stayed black. Everything looked fine, lights on, fans spinning, the whole PC hummed like usual, but no display. I could hear the Windows startup sound through my speakers, so I knew it was alive… just blind.

I tried everything: refreshing the GPU, swapping cables and monitors, even dusting off ports I haven’t touched in years. Nothing.

In a stroke of desperate genius, I connected remotely. And there it was: my desktop… at a glorious 640x420 resolution. Amazing.

Device Manager showed my GPU as “hidden.” I thought, driver issue, easy fix. Uninstalled, tried to reinstall… and got hit with: “No compatible graphics hardware found.”

That’s when I knew. My GPU is gone. 💀

The PC is now at the repair shop. The tech said it’s likely dead. The worst part? GPUs on my island are either wildly overpriced, the latest models go for over 1.5k, or they don't have mid or older ones in stock and at that price, I might as well build a whole new system.

I was this close to making a big announcement, renders, character sheets, the whole reveal. Now? It might have to wait… or come in a slightly less flashy, more Word Documenty form. 😅

I’ll keep Discord updated as I hear back. For now, development is on an unexpected pause, but not for long. I’ll figure this out.
