Very nice tutorial, but it would be even nicer if you would not say so often "ok".

Excellent tutorial, Scottie. I just subscribed to your Patreon a few days ago, but I have learned so much already. As someone who has always gone straight into detail when sketching, your advice about starting with big shapes before adding detail has been a revelation. You have also helped me to recognise how essential shadows are in adding depth at the watercolour stage. In the past I would never have attempted to sketch and paint such a complicated scene as this one… but I intend to give it a try, based on following the various steps in the order you suggest. Thank you.

Thanks Scottie, that you take my comment as a smart hint. IMO the repeating of "ok " isn't a good habit. A lot of people ( especially in video tutorials) are doing this , but if you listen to a tutorial several times it becomes quite annoying.

Hi Scottie, thanks for the great video. This is really Rothenburg as I know it very well. I´m thrilled ! I have a lot of photos of this place and was hesitant to paint because I didn`t know how to start....and the perspective was horror for me. You are so helpful, thank you such a lot, with you painting is now wonderful for me.

A great tutorial again Scottie, thank you. I agree with Duncan, beginning construction with the biggest shapes has made sketch far less intimidating for me.

Jillanne

Brilliant tutorial. So many new things learnt. I love it that you chat and explain and paint and draw all at once. You are a very good teacher

I just subscribed and finished sketching Rothenburg, I paused realizing the advances in forty minutes I will do something else then reach the watercolors and have fun later tonight. I enjoyed your system, it’s very motivating for me to be working at the same time with you.
