In this tutorial I’ll show you how to sketch this cute cottage with a simple ink and watercolor technique. So we’re focusing on two point perspective, and how to add main shapes and details without seeing the vanishing points.

Loving this Scottie, can’t wait to have a go 🙌🏻

Thanks Scottie. That was so much fun.

Scottie it’s a delight learning this loose brush work technique with you. You simplify my understanding of perspective and proportion without bogging me down with academia.

Thanks a lot for this really great tutorial. I learned a lot. Some one wrote, stairs/steps are difficult and i agree. I feel somehow, they dont follow the perspective rules? Or do they? 🙆🏼‍♀️🤪🙆🏼‍♀️

Thank you so much Scottie for this tutorial!! I have learned a lot and now I know how to sketch such a cottage in the right angle. The ruler helps me in the beginning to set the structure, as you also showed in your tutorial. Drawing the horizontal line is a great tip. Thank you also for your patience to learn us the right skills ;-)

Debra

Love this tutorial, but I must admit that I still struggle with perspectives.

Alan

I loved this tutorial. The focus on perspective just made sense and somehow clicked with me. Great demonstration of loose style and I enjoyed the shadow & light stage. Will try this one ASAP!

I loved this class and the way you broke out the perspective. Especially the back roof angle. Your classes are really wonderful! I struggled on two key elements that I think could use additional explanation in another tutorial video. 1: I am having a hard time mixing colors and balancing water in pan and on brush to align with your project. 2: Additional explanation on how to measure to get relative dimensions would be great. It’s really useful but I am finding it hard to do.

Another fun tutorial! I had a bit of trouble with the stairs, but otherwise, I had a lot of fun with the dark highlights and splatters and felt a bit more loose. Thanks for another great tutorial, Scottie!

Thank you for this great tutorial Scottie. I did a sketch along with you on regular paper. But my steps look wonky. The bottom part of the side face of the steps (the L shaped side face) - is that angled towards the vanishing point on the left?

When drawing the cafe, I really lost my perspective, making the street way to close to the cafe awnings among many other problems , but I am learning a lot, thanks, Scottie!

I have the 7x5 paper… will that be too small? I have the 7x10 as well but was just wondering about the preferred size of the finished drawing. ✍️
