UPCOMING TUTORIAL:  Friday 18th April: Urban Sketching - City Scene from above

A city scene like this looks very complex but this week I'll show you how to simplify it!

I usually recommend sketching one subject when starting out with urban sketching but I want to also show you how you can still sketch a complex scene with many buildings without getting overwhelmed.

UPDATE:

For the next two weeks my two girls have school holidays so I have pre-recorded these next two tutorials. So it will be nice to spend some time with family!

I have also been building up tutorials this year into a big collection for my new course. I'm re-making my fundamental lessons which will be included. These will all be available here on Patreon as well as a stand alone course to purchase for people outside Patreon who prefer that method of learning. I'm hoping to add subtitles in multiple languages to all my fundamental videos and reorganise the structure of my Patreon collections. So you might notice some changes over the next month. I then aim to create a book from this new course that (might) be ready by the end of the year. Thanks for all your input each week to help me make these tutorials and willing to try a broad range of topics over the last few months!!🤗

WHAT'S COMING UP:

Friday 25th April: People Sketching - Portrait (Darker Skin Tones)

Friday 2nd May: Buildings - Castle or Ruins

Friday 9th May: Urban Objects - Simple Objects

Good wishes to you and your family for a happy holiday break. I'm scared, but looking forward to tackling this dome (in Germany? or Czheck Republic?) I have many complicated city scenes that will be useful to use this forthcoming lesson on (aghhh). Also patiently waiting to have your Sketching book in my possession too.

A book will be amazing Scottie, was only thinking about this a few days ago. A great pick up for quick reference. Happy holiday with your family. Looking forward to this dome tutorial 🙌🏻

Teresa

Love this reference and looking forward to learning to simplify complex scenes. Thank you!

At some point I'm going to do the painting before I watch the tutorial...to see what I've learned. But I don't think it's going to be this one! Too complex. I don't know how to simplify yet.
