In this URBAN SKETCHING tutorial I’ll show you how to loosely sketch a scene using ink & watercolor step-by-step for beginners.

Please check out the previous tutorial for a more detailed explanation of the planning stage here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/tutorial-3-steps-86780893

I found some extra time to record this second reference and I'll leave the more complex third reference for another time so we can work on simplifying ornate architecture.

Uniball Ultra Micro Pen / Stillman & Birn Beta Series Sketch / Pentel Waterbrush Pen /

Winsor & Newton Watercolor 16 Pan Set

(Using Purple Lake/Cadmium Red Hue/Alizarin Crimson Hue/Permanent Rose/Dioxazine Purple/Ultramarine/Cerulean Blue/Viridian Hue/Burnt Sienna/Burnt Umber/Paynes Gray)

I really like the index, I still need to access it more. I actually like this picture better than the first one. I think I learned more from it. Thank you for the addition instruction.

You mentioned using pastels in line work. Have you ever used white pastel for highlight ? Would that even work without a textured paper?
