Susan

Travelling through NSW at the moment and sit looking and can’t seem to find a thing to sketch ! Beautiful big trees , great parking bays but what to sketch ?? How to choose what to sketch and perspective..for me thanks Scottie

SusanT

I always have difficulty simplifying whatever I am sketching so that I don’t get bogged down in too much detail. Deciding what to leave out is my biggest challenge.

I don’t have trouble with the buildings perspective but I seem to have more trouble with perspective of the added elements of doors and windows. This becomes more noticeable when you have a line of buildings on a street. Not the buildings but the windows in each building. The size of the windows especially seems harder for me to determine. I also find when adding cars and truck their size can be out of proportion for the buildings. I tend to make them to small and things then look cartoonish. .

I spend too much tim e lately looking for the right images. Been fascinating though going from country to country. :)

Lorna Graham

Perspective is my main problem. I also agree with Susan, deciding what to leave out so the sketch does not look over worked.

Michael

My biggest challenge is simplifying and not getting bogged down by all the details. Often I add too many details, it takes too long and I lose patience and the sketch goes down hill.

Roz

We spend a lot of time near water and it is very hard for me to depict reflections in water and glass. As for the 4 photos, the top left looks most challenging, but I would not enjoy sketching that. I like the bottom left. Challenging but friendlier looking!

Ugh. Everything. I still use a death grip on my pen. No looseness and I try to add too much detail.

Just joined so hi all, my issue is im a procrastinator and feel like i need to have all the stuff, the perfect amount of time etc etc. I need to learn to just pick up a pen and sketchbook any draw, even if for 5 mins.

Jeremy Eicke

Would minting proper proportion be under perspective? I feel like no matter what I’m drawing, I run out of room because I get all stretchy with it 😅

Jennifer

I get bogged down in detail.

Sharon White

Tricky Perspectives such as in the first picture… knowing where I should even start to draw … I am overwhelmed … how can I simplify it… hope that makes sense
