Definitely number 4... It's all about the angle.

Mary L Doty

#4 is definitely the hardest especially with light washing out the right side of her face. Will you need to negatively paint it?

Josh

I find women much more difficult to draw than men. The softness of the face (and of course I’m speaking in generalities) makes it much less forgiving in the existence of any unnecessary pen marks “ruin” the sketch. I especially have a difficult time with jawlines and placement of the mouth. I look forward to seeing additional tutorials on the topic. I’m learning a lot from you Scotty. Thanks!

Lorna Graham

I am drawn to no 3 as I love the hat and scarf but can see no 4 being more of a challenge.

Reto Häsler

For me #2. I would like to learn a good way to show, whether a person is old or young.

Linda Wilkens

What about more tutorials on drawing childrens faces and proportions for over 4 years old to teenagers

Marie Cornelis

MERCI+++++

Kit Myers

Number four for me, looks very tricky because of the angle so interested to see how that turns out!

Joao Diogo

I voted portrait n.2 to learn how to paint/sketch the reflection in the glasses lenses. However, and despite the final choice, I think I'll try to sketch the 4 pictures :-). Thank you Scottie.

Wendy Rowe

Complete newbie Scottie and really enjoying your Patreon tutorials. Voted for 3 as I love all the characteristics of this pic but will attempt all, many thanks

Roz

Although 4 is obviously the most challenging, it is such an unusual pose that I doubt I would ever use. I find the folks with glasses more interesting, particularly the lady with so many reflections so I vote #2.

John A. Blackwell

I usually practice by drawing a straight on view. Is there an advantage to the learning process by starting with a different view in your opinion? Anyone practice mostly with a particular view?

SusanT

I voted for no. 2 because I think it would be a frequently occurring angle when you are sketching people in a cafe. The glasses are also an interesting challenge.

Karen King

I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would choose #4 (kidding). I agree with the person who said they would probably never use that one. I would simply avoid it at all costs. I also agree with the request about how to age a person. I post my journal entries on Facebook and when I draw myself, I can't make myself look old enough.

Alberto Gonzalez

number 4 because its the hardest one. people don't realize... that if you can do the hardest one.. then the others get much easier.

Glenn1

1 and 2, would make good drawings or paintings IMO. And yes agree with Alberto.

Michele Campbell

4, It would be awesome to add a thought bubble there to see what’s on her mind!
