The guy in the cab that wants to kill his wife is the director Martin Scorsese.

'Bout time this one went up :) We could never get it to win a poll

Abel Salas Jr

The 4 days was until the Primary vote. Palantine had to win the Primary 1st to then be the party’s nominee for president. In cab with Betsy he says he heard he won the nomination and she said the election is in 17 days. After the shootout Travis was in a coma. That’s what was in the letter from Iris’s parents, that they wanted to visit him in the hospital but he was in a coma and they weren’t permitted. That’s why they also say that while they cant afford to revisit New York to thank him in person he would be welcome in their home in Pittsburgh. All that being said, this movie never really made a whole lot of sense to me. At 1st he’s going to try and kill a politician and is unsuccessful so he goes off and kills a pimp, a gangster and a John? Travis Bickel was a creep and a weirdo. You can really tell how on coke Scorcese was filming this. I feel like you. Its ok, but not as great as the hype would lead you to believe.

First watch. Let's go. Love deniro

Yea the writers said he lived. I pulled it up after watching your reaction and since it was my 1st watch. This movie was wild. I hope you continue watching more of Deniro he's a great actor.

Love Deniro Deniro movies to watch that you didnt mention... Deer Hunter and Jackie Brown -=edit=- After watching the full thing, dont bother watching this movie again if you dont want because I think you got it. In 1976 and the majority white theater I saw it in this movie was amazing. Today it's still riding that first impression despite it not having aged very well.
