True… if only it was consistent. The problem is that long weekly shows like this can never be consistently amazing. At least the animation is great in most dope moments

If the Animation was better this would be so clear of stuff like JJK & Demon Slayer in terms of popularity. (Cuz in my opinion it’s just a much better story than all the New Gen Anime) I picked up the Manga a few years back and It’s definitely one of my best reads

They got better in the later episodes (after Underwater Temple Arc?) it wasn't as horrible lol. Hopefully when the anime comes back they'll invest more for this bc it's really unfortunate that it's underappreciated lol

Unfortunately the Black Clover staff were putting in a horrible situation with the weekly schedule. They loved the series and wanted to make the animation WAY better but they never had the time to due the weekly timecruch for each episode. If Black Clover was seasonal and had DS, MHA animation it would be one of the most popular anime all time. The story and characters are amazing, just need to animation to be the same

It’s weird for me to bring this up now since this was such a fire episode, but the villain who yawns every time he’s on screen pushed me over the edge, so I’m gonna rant. The characters in this show are all likeable, but their one note tropes that they exhibit every single time they’re on screen is like a splinter in my brain. “Marie” “Food” “Let’s fight” “Booze” “Girls” “Men suck” “Yawn”…it drives me crazy. We get it—that’s your shtick—but if you yawn one more time to show you’re lazy, I’m gonna write an unhinged rant in the comments. Fucker yawned again… Rant over. Pretty good show so far, though.

I just realized rewatching this with y'all it keeps using the word for Japanese (nihonjin) as the word for foreigner (gaikokujin). makes since when the characters aren't in Japan but that's so funny too in a way. Or well I guess it's how they translated nihonjin as foreigner instead of Japanese person but still.
