next time u guys watch something in dub u should just find the ep u already watched in dub, its usually on Crunchy roll and Hulu etc. Quick way to avoid spoilers. But bruh Madarra is fucking Goated in both languages, i definitely feel like Dub gets a bad wrap in some shows for no reason.

What's crazy to me is all the voices that I heard in English first, sound similar to my ears when I hear them in Japanese. However the ones I heard in Japanese first Killer Bee being the first. Sound drastically different when I hear em in English.

Might Guy’s, Itachi’s, Tobi’s, Pain’s, Garra’s kid and teen voices and so many others are better in dub in my opinion. Naruto’s voice is the one of the few that’s better in sub for me. But overall, in my opinion, Naruto is one of the few shows that’s better in dub.

For me it’s not that the dub is better, it’s that the translations are a little off in the subs. You kind of don’t understand everything they’re actually saying.

im also a big advocate for dub naruto. plus the translation in sub mess up dialogue and make some things confusing. i just think the VA in Dub is also very good and the voices just match better to their characters. ive seen Naruto quite a few times in both sub and dub and prefer dub.

Hey when you guys do bleach you should do a pole for dubbed or subbed on that one. Because that is one anime I’m heavily confident everyone would actually say dubbed for once. Definitely not better for me, maybe because i dont come from an english speaking country but eng dub really is so weak compared to the 2 dub I’ve watched. Emotions, voices, accent… to me it’s just not working… I guess it depends on where you Cole from, I’ve never seen Anyone say english dub is better and not being from an english country. Must be because it’s your 1st language but to many including idk it just sounds bad like english phonetically (idk if that word exists) just doesn’t fit anime in general whereas it’s great/perfect for live actions productions (not my top 1 voice acting tho)

I’d say the same about you being biased that doesn’t mean much. I’ve seen both (and others anime un english) and I still think since I was a kid that english dub un anime just sounds cheap and not immersive at all UNLESS its set in an english country or serves the narrative (like cyberpunk Edgerunner). Your biased if english is your first (or only) language you speak fluently, you are used to the way it sounds. Speaking originally french, I’ce watched naruto in the 3 dub (was only available in random languages on internet at the time) and dub has always been kinda bad « cheap » to me. Even for dbz, one piece and snk (except erwin speech that is kinda good but still below VA and french dub to me, french dub of erwin being bad as well)

Sorry you tell some of you guys in the comments, (nothing personal or demeaning, I genuinely wish for you guys to get some help) but if you actually hate the dub just because its in english and you can understand it, and especially if the voice actors are objectively great (which many are, even in Naruto), then you are just a complete weaboo bruh. You gotta pull yourself out of japanese culture for one second and watch any show thats english every once in awhile. Noone ever said that you are just projecting. Its jsut that sub is always better transfering emotion as it is made specifically with creator and best possible ppl picked by them. Dub is always has few issues on doing that as it first require a translation to be done (left out context and left out word to fit the same amount of languege word not full talking) and then on top of that it was redubed and rerecorded by dub trying to emulate what sub already did (so you lose a bit more in that) and if they dont try to emulate but do their own its not the same thing and again poits it to sub as more immersive.

Dub is literally a voice over the original voice. The animation to voice sync is never 100% accurate and Japanese does not translate to English very well. If only there were a downvote system on here.

Im sorry but ima have to say that immersion is subjective when it comes to anime. You are only saying what you are saying because you have watched both but there are a very large group of dub watchers who never have even tried sub and would say that dub is more immersive for them. You have more appreciation for the culture and the medium and its intended impression so your opinion will obviously lean more towards the original being more immersive. i think both you and op are right but for literally just different sides of the same coin. Thats why the dub vs sub conversation is literally pointless. It doesnt even matter because there are way too many reasons as to why someone would watch either.

And actually voice suncing so an issue in both sub and dub you dont notice it in sub because you arent usually trying to look at their mouths as much when they are talkng with more attention due to you trying to read the subtitles. SUb has less than dub but its usually a production thing. I wouldnt say its a dub thing because you have shows ike edgerunners whos original audio was japanese but the dub fit looks like its the original

Even if they did a poll I think sub would win as always even though Bleach dub is loved by a lot of ppl and is great. It's just very rare that dub wins a poll period lmao. Even though I would like them to watch the dub, I don't mind them watching the sub. I'm used to reactors watching sub because it's what people mainly prefer when it comes to anime which I understand. I just grew up watching English and love dub. I do watch sub and I do enjoy it here and there. No issue with sub I just prefer dub.

The constant dub bashing and "sub is better" doesn't even bother me. It used to, but not anymore because I'm used to it, lol. Every time i see someone hating on dub, i think to myself, "Says everyone." lol they say the same thing. Their opinion though. At least nowadays, dub is becoming more accepted. It still gets hate, but a lot of people love dub. Never thought I'd see the day of this comment section, for example. 90% if everyone loving Naruto dub while there's only a few who prefer the sub. You're gonna have ppl who hate dub no matter what lmao. Then you also have sub elitists (not calling the ppl in the comments that who prefer sub) but if it dont apply, let it fly.
