EDIT REGARDING DOUBLE DROPS:

I hear everyone asking! At this moment, we are happy with the current schedule (3 ep a week). Especially since this show is way shorter than Naruto and One Piece.  However, we may consider making them double drops, and reducing to twice a week in the future. Would have to be after Solo Leveling and Sakamoto days, and assuming those arent replaced with other ongoing shows as well, bc we want to balance out our schedule and make sure we are prioritizing quality over quantity. But we are always listening dont worry! :)

It's called Bleach because originally Kubo (the author) wanted to call it "Black" because of the uniforms that the shinigami/soul reapers wear (Rukia and Ichigo in soul form) but thought that was too simple so he then went with "White" as a contrast to Black which he also thought was too simple so he ultimately chose Bleach because of it's association with the colour white. There's some other symbolism in there as well about how the shinigami purify souls with their zampaktou (Kubo is big on symbolism) but that's the main reason.

Soulrebel0902

After 17 it really picks up. I know y’all are going to love the next arc.

James A

I always wondered why the intelligent bird needed to be in a cage lol.

Stellarnut

I think people confused you, he did bleach his hair. That's why it's the color it is and the show will explain soon why he chose to do that. BUT also, because of his hair color that he chose to bleach he was bullied, and it didn't matter to him that he was bullied for the reason that he chose to bleach his hair in the first place.

Kayso

Kubo (creator of Bleach) chose to call it Bleach to evoke the impression of the color "white" because using "black", which is associated with Shinigami, would be boring. It's symbolic of the cleansing that Shinigami give souls. Also Kubo's a fan of the band Nirvana and their first album is called Bleach. Yeah Ichigo's natural hair color is orange but it doesn't have anything to do with why the anime is called Bleach. It has never been confirmed by Kubo. It's just a fan theory

Soulrebel0902

Also this anime/manga has so many characters that embody different characteristics. Ichigo heroism, another character will be manipulation, one of my favorite characters Nihilism.

RikudoRyan

I love Chad so much man, in terms of personality he has to be one of the most likeable characters in the show. Just a hero of a guy.

Dwayne Townsend

Not related but did anyone catch the fan made Kakashi vs Gojo floating around 👀👀

taymone

there are a few reasons why its called bleach but all will be revealed as you watch. there is a ton of foreshadowing in this story

Chayanne Acosta

Man these episodes just fly by! So happy to see how much you guys are enjoying it!

XXI

Bleach boiiiiiiss

Oakley

This just like how you feel with Brandon watching Naruto, This is like only 1% of the lores. This show evolves so much later like Naruto OG to Shippuuden. Definitely not as good as Naruto but pretty close.

Ryan

Dont worry michelle, i also sit on my feet/criss-cross-applesauce in my chair while watching most of your guys reactions

Ryan Stoddard

Wait till the show picks up. Haven’t seen nothing yet.

Tay

Yokoso

The Pig

Ichigo’s hair is naturally that color

Grim

Ron that's not where the name for the show comes from lol. It's named "Bleach" because it refers to the concept of "bleaching" the darkness, symbolizing the main character's role as a Soul Reaper who cleanses the souls of the dead, essentially "whitening" them by taking them to the afterlife; this ties into the Japanese death gods (Shinigami) who wear black robes, which the show's creator "bleached" to give the series a unique title.

BowlCutNinja

the parakeets voice reminds me of knuckle's nen ability 😂

RorotheShadow

Ichigo has never done anything like this before, Ichigo just has good intuition. He already knew from Rukia that Soul Reapers (Shinigami) can sense Hollows, so it was only logical for him to think that they can sense normal souls too. And the reason he was able to do it right away is because he is obviously very talented. Don't ask yourself every time why Ichigo can do what he does, because I think that distracts you a bit 😅😅

Karaka

Ichigo hasn’t done any of these things before, it’s all new to him. He’s just picking up on things quickly…simply cuz he’s talented as a Soul Reaper I guess

RedEyeItachi

I love that they both feel the same as everyone else. Like bro Ichigo and Chad both look they r grown ass men going to school with children 😂😂 also bleach refers to the cleansing of darkness of the world and helping guide it to the light and reach the soul society where souls r meant to go.

Chase023

Maybe should of been a double due to be continued? just saying..lol.. glad you guys are enjoying the early episodes.

Noizon

Please give us a answer about the double drops, atleast we will know what u guys think about it. Cause now people are just commenting on every episode that they want double drops.

Tingz

Ichigo is one of the best MC I prefer him over Naruto and Luffy I think Ron will come to love Ichigo he seems to vibe with him well n like he said he never had an MC as a fav character before but Ichigo is just so realistic you will see as the story progresses

Tingz

8:30 yes Ron this is the staple bleach soundtrack it’s the “when shit gets real” ost. When you hear it u already know shits about to go down

ShroomPK

Michelle gave a sneaky kiss at the start, heh. Great reaction though!!!

Riley C.

woah, what a coincidence that Bleach and Dr. Stone are being watched during at the same time, and I didn't realize until now that Chad and Taiju have the same mentality: having a tough body but not fighting and just taking hits

firepingu150XD

I'm enjoying the show but I do have a concern... I understand Rukia is "recovering" (still.....) and that this guy ate 2 soul reapers but wtf man. I'm hoping she's able to contribute or they're able to take him down together bc this is jus annoying me. Why wasn't SHE the one doing all these soul reaper techniques like finding the hollow? or whatever Ichigo did. She has to be a new soul reaper or smth bc there's no way they writing her like this. I'm sure Ichigo's special in a way and we'll prolly find out in the future, but it's just classic mc glaze atp cmon bro 💀 ep 4, aint no soul reaper training at all (assuming that's a thing), and he's pulling out random skills. OPM & mob psycho are supposed to be like that which i loved, but i just hope they make it clear what kinda show it'll be soon so ik what to expect

Dan Richa9097

The anime and manga series "Bleach" is named so because it symbolizes the idea of "purifying" or "cleaning" something, similar to how bleach is used to whiten clothes, which ties into the concept of the Soul Reapers in the story who are essentially "cleaners" of the spiritual realm, removing evil spirits.

Tutty_o7

Either one is fine honestly, I get that the viewers wanna see the reactions too the 'hype parts' of Bleach really badly but I hope you take your time and enjoy the ride. Also I think there will be some great contenders for no.1 husbando later on :P

Hotdog

I don't mind the Bleach release schedule but it might be worth considering trying to get caught up before the series finale airs so you can catch and ride the hype train as it airs each week. There is no release date yet though so it could air either at the end of this year or beginning of 2026. Obviously that's up to you guys though. I subscribed specifically for Bleach so I'm just happy to see it regardless of the schedule.

Antonio Ricardo

Idk who said it was named “bleach” cuz of his hair but that’s not it lol

Anthony

As you can see from variation of all the replies about it, I dont think anyone knows why its actually called bleach lol

Chayanne Acosta

Just enjoy the show and watch at your own pace

Hunt1ng 4sanity

bleach does really well with the world buildin which gets me hooked early on

Phyllis

Lol Ron getting trolled about the hair bleach.

Draken of Toman

Will you guys be skipping flipper? I hope so!

Patriicia

Michelle I felt the same when I finished Naruto. But I started watching Bleach and it was sooo good. I felt like watching Naruto again. The excitement when watching a good anime/tv show

ARRT

This show feels so slow

Niam

Ong, I watched the anime and read the manga but this is the first time I'm noticing that *Ichigo's dad* called the hospital and told the staff to tell the *director* that he's the one calling and so the director should accomodate just because he knows him. DAMN. Even then there were subtle hints in the story. Definitely an Attack On Titan big-brain moment. /This whole story is based on hints and plot points that you just won't notice or pick up on until you're already in the final arcs. Bless.

Coopy

My take is that most people aren't used to single drops from you guys. When I first found you guys, I finished Naruto Part 1 in like a few days. 3 episodes per week is already very fair, but I can see the argument for both sides.

Ablaise

i mean 3 eps a week itll take over 2 yrs to finish

Crimson Maou

they might've said it as a joke, and I'm not sure if somebody already told you, but the actual reason the series is called bleach is because it's supposed to be like "cleanse" as in when a soul reaper purifies a soul.

Castiel_01x

Now that you are caught up till 206, at 9:50, you'll see Isshin talking to someone in Ryuken's hospital. Just a cool fact. An early hint that both of them know each other.

Ilsuk Yang

Yeah, when everyone sees Chad, they're like, "That is not a 15-year-old boy, that is a grown man right there." 🤣🤣🤣
