If soul society were to higher a captain who isn’t as open to get their hands dirty as mayuri for research and development (in what way would that help out the soul society) it’s just like orochimaru he knows way more things because he does some crazy things also notice how mayuri knew all of ishidas moves, I believe that bc of him researching the quincies the soul reapers were able to get rid of them. The only problem mayuri has is him being evil towards his teammates other than that he plays his role perfectly

A lot of people have compared Mayuri and Orochimaru over the years but you will quickly realize as you progress through the story that in terms of being a mad-scientist and IQ, Mayuri is that one dude you DONT want to fight, I would rather fight Kenny (lol). Also, Mayuris voice actor is Frieza's voice actor pretty cool stuff dood. The HYPE ROCKET continues to go higher, Double Drops are going to be so juicy. Friendly Reminder - Every Zanpakuto (sword) has 2 stages of release, the Shikai and then Bankai as Yourichi explained. The Shikai release is always " a VERB followed by the name of the Zanpakutos spirit. " For example in this episode when Mayuri released or went into "shikai mode"(stage 1), he started by saying " Claw Out, Ashisogi Jizō (being the spirits name) or Renji very early on when he first fought Ichigo, he says " ROAR, Zabimaru" or "Scatter, Senbonsakura" (Byakuya).

I don't know what Ron is talking about but I think Orochimaru is just like Kurotsuchi Mayuri and he still likes Orochimaru. To be fair, Orochimaru started his experiments with good intentions but went off course so I don't hate Orochimaru. I would also say Kurotsuchi is slightly worse.

5:26 I hate when anime changes things unnecessarily, especially when an adaptation is supposed to elevate the source material. Kubo did a brilliant job in the manga by giving one of the suicide bombers a backstory. The anime took that out for some reason; it was so unnecessary. Having that backstory in the manga shows how even the minnows had a life of their own, and by killing them, it shows how menacing Mayuri can be. Mayuri definitely knew who Uryu was. There's no reason for Mayuri to give information to Uryu about the last Quincy specimen he studied who ended up being Uryu's grandpa and that he carried a photo of Uryu's grandfather with him. This is further proven by the fact that Mayuri was dismissing Uryu earlier for not studying the enemy before coming to the Soul Society.
