Yes true, Naruto and them were fighting as children, but that’s the whole point of the new era, they wanted to make a world where kids wouldn’t have to see battle or death, so they don’t send kids on missions like the ones Naruto and his friends used to go on, also they still haven’t graduated lol, Naruto and them really didn’t see any battles like that until after they graduated and got their teams

At this rate Shino understands Boruto’s capabilities more than Naruto, who never spends any time with his kid. Plus it’s hilarious coming from Naruto, given how he acted as a child, constantly trying to prove himself.

I'm dead at Michelle saying Rock Lee asexually created Metal xD I'm not sure who told you 16 & 17 were filler, I'd argue they aren't. Either way, they aren't super important so it's okay. I think you should watch them on your own time if you can though. There are some nice moments in there. They literally show you Lee and give you some insight as to what Sarada's home life is like. Which is what you talked about in the end of the discussion, so I thought that was funny.

Guys, I’m genuinely having a hard time understanding what counts as anime canon and what’s considered filler. I did some research, but there are a lot of conflicting explanations—most discussions seem to revolve around Boruto for some reason. From what I could gather, the anime canon episodes were approved by the author, and that’s why they’re considered canon (but I might be wrong). Since this is my first time going through the series, I’m curious—do these anime canon episodes actually lead somewhere? Or are they completely ignored when the manga canon content shows up? Because if that’s the case, it seems pretty clear they’re just fillers, regardless of whether the author approved them or not (especially considering he had already stated publicly that he didn’t want to continue the story—this info is easy to find)(And before anyone says otherwise—yes, I do know that he eventually got involved again. I’m just following the chronology of events.). My goal is to understand where I should focus my attention in the story. Should I treat the anime canon episodes like fillers and just enjoy them as side stories, or are they actually important to the main plot?

I can see where this is going. Ron telling Naruto to punch Shino saying “don’t tell me how to raise my kid” is contradictory because Naruto isn’t raising boruto. He’s never around except for like a few minutes every other day. Naruto is in fact an absent father so shino despite being his teacher a short amount of time knows more about boruto’s capabilities. Boruto may share personality traits with Naruto but when it comes to skill at that age he is a genius like sasuke was. Side note: nobody talks much about the fact that boruto’s fighting style is like a hyuga mixed with uchiha techniques. He uses a lot of open palms when he attacks and he is sneaky like a snake

Personally I think you guys should just watch filler for yourself. People tell you to skip it but how they feel about it is their own personal opinion you should form your own. I think it’s worth watching personally. Because once it’s over it’s over. You guys skipped Naruto filler and missed out on some fun ones including mecha-Naruto.

If you enjoy these episodes- that's great. The only thing I'm afraid of is you'll lose interest in Boruto and judge the anime based on these episodes. The moment that happens I'd say switch to manga canon only. I'll stop talking about this tho as it seems like you're enjoying it so far lol

You gotta remember they are still in the academy. Naruto was not fighting villains in the academy, he couldn’t even clone himself in the academy

I think the whole filler argument is hilarious. Many people will complain about not seeing characters from the past in the manga, but the anime often features them. Sometimes even dedicating whole episodes and arcs to them which is anime only. I am glad you guys enjoy the series. The anime and manga are meant to be enjoyed side by side. That is why the new Boruto manga has been so satisfying for me. The payoff is real! Also can we address Konan powers are now used for mailroom jutsu :3 lol

Boruto is really good and you can compare it to Naruto but not exactly everything and Naruto started with nothing and gained everything while Boruto is the opposite starting with everything and is similar to his dad but also different cause he’s also smart
