Please correct me if im wrong as well. luffys armlet was from the treasure on thriller bark. dont worry you guys weren't suppose to know its treasure or anything, luffy just liked it and nami granted it to him lol. It just happen to be the treasure buggy has been looking for when he got caught by the marines.

After her fight with Usopp, Perona (the negative ghost girl) loaded all the treasure on Thriller Bark onto the Thousand Sunny in an effort to escape the island by stealing the Strawhat's ship. Near the end of the arc Luffy picked the armband out of the treasure pile and Nami allowed Luffy to keep it since she assumed it was just a generic armband and not worth any real value. Buggy here reveals that the armband is actually a secret map to a legendary hidden treasure belonging to the late and infamous pirate Captain John. Buggy had been searching for this particular treasure since the Jaya and Skypiea arcs. The armband being in Thriller Bark makes sense since one of the general zombies in Moria's army was the reanimated corpse of Captain John himself. He only makes one or two brief appearances and doesn't do much else besides drink booze, so unless you're locked into the lore and paying attention he's real easy to miss.

Golden Lion Shiki is a tie-in to a One Piece movie. 426-429 are filler episodes for the movie. You can skip it and continue at episode 430.

They should do what the Geks did and have a One Piece week. Those madmen busted out Water 7 and Enies Lobby in a marathon week, and it was glorious. Although, to be fair, just upping the weekly episodes to 6 was a very cool move and deserves due props 👍

The news about Kuma wasnt necessary a lie. I think what the navy believed happened was that Kuma sent them flying to places that they would either die or would be so far that they would never regroup. No one but Kuma knows where they go and since he works for the WG, I think thats what was assumed. Thats the logical explanation to me with what we know so far

Luffy took the armlet from Thriller Bark treasures that the guys put in their ship and Nami allowed Luffy to take it because there is no gold and Luffy took a big part of defeating Moria. Luffy just liked it. No symbolic thing-y.

What Ron said about One Piece always getting better…. I totally agree. There are other long-running anime that might start off hotter than One Piece in the first few arcs, but none of them have its consistency or achieve the same incredible heights that one piece does (you’ll see). And what’s really scary is that at this point, it’s still nowhere near the peak of One Piece. The animation will keep improving, the fights will get more intense, the backstories will grow deeper, and the lore will become even richer. Everything in this anime just keeps getting better and better it’s mind-blowing!

We all know nothing happened in thriller bark but there are important info there like the first sneak peak to a legendary samurai and some info about kaido who defeated moira in his prime.. the other info you probably forget and probably thought is just a nobody because they're just zombies is captain john.. he was introduced as captain john in that arc drinking wine as a zombie and the wine is spilling in his stomach.. after that, nami collected the treasure in thriller bark and he let luffy wear it because it is not gold or high valued jewelry for her... that's the connection you are looking for and right now as you heard from buggy, he's been looking for captain John's treasure all this time..

It’s really good I like Bleach too: cool art style, lot of Aura moments, the show start really strong and finish quite good… so it’s a good show yea… But…..One Piece is on a whole different level. i did not say this is the first time buggy ever mentioned about captain john.. just to connect the missing puzzle that they probably just ignore or forget in thriller bark and on this episode.. also, instead of "correction", maybe you should say "in addition to.." because thriller bark is the first revelation to captain john... thriller bark arc is lowkey having a lot of easter eggs.. another character that is important who got more in the next arc is lola but they will most likely forget it..

You're definitely spot on regarding match ups. The prime example so far has been Luffy vs Enel where Enel was able to take out several people on a similar level to Luffy without breaking a sweat, yet couldn't beat Luffy since his Devil Fruit powers didn't work on him. This has probably been mentioned by someone already, but Oda once said that if Enel had a bounty it would've been 500 million. The highest known bounty in the series so far. Which goes to show how op he is to most who aren't immune to his lightning. Your thoughts are very reasonable in general for first time watchers and as you said, you will figure things out step by step on your own when the story eventually gets to it.

Correction on the bounty part: It would be the highest known bounty that would be revealed at this current point that Ron & Michelle are at is what you mean…not the highest known in the One Piece world (just for clarification so that they don’t get confused) And yeah Enel was definitely incredibly strong but what he lacked was combat ability, he was way too reliant on his Devil Fruit and he got this reality check after coming across Luffy Cuz in the end of the day if he lost to a Luffy who still didn’t even have the Gears abilities then he stands no chance against the top tiers of the One Piece world

Well, I said highest known bounty so far. So far as in up to the point where they're at. I think it's pretty clear that it's not supposed to be the highest bounty overall. But yeah, could make sense to clarify it's at that point just to be on the safe side. And honestly, without trying to spoil, with his powers Enel would still be too much for most characters who outstat him physically. Among the countless characters only very few of them are top tiers. Losing to Luffy has also to be taken with a grain of salt, because it's something the plot demands. Minor spoiler below now, tho... Croc got his ass kicked too by Luffy pre Gear(admittedly almost killed him 3 times) and still was able to hold his on you know where and against whom. Goes to show that losing to Luffy ain't big of a deal when Oda hasn't the whole story planned out.

Careful of falling into the trap of believing that bounty exclusively equates to a characters strength. Nico Robin accumulated her bounty as a child due to being a child of Ohara. So bounty is moreso how much of a threat you possess to the World Government. Ofc strong characters are typically going to be a threat due to their strength alone but just keep in mind that may not always be the case.

Shiki The Golden Lion is actually a really DOPE character! I love his story but he's more of a side characters since his story was introduced in a movie but he's one of the pirates legends from Roger's era. He's one hell of a monster, it took Sengoku + Garp at full force to stop him and the fight destroyed half the island, a monster.

Personally, I think it's silly for Ron or anyone else to keep complaining about a broken strat in the guessing game Ron seems to have made up himself... Just patch it out lol. You're literally the dev. Option 1 (raise the risk but keep the reward the same) - Double or nothing: Because you guys watch multiple episodes every time, require that a correct non-Luffy guess must follow any correct Luffy guesses - Single Elimination: Rule that prevents anyone who guessed Luffy and got it wrong from guessing again that session (other player gets a by/automatically wins the next one) Option 2 (Change the rules of when Luffy can be guessed) - Pick your poison: Only allow Luffy guesses in the first or seccond episode of each reaction session. - Earn the privilege: Treat Luffy guesses like an unlock, and require a non-Luffy guess (correct or otherwise) before Luffy can be selected as a choice Option 3 (identify and remove Luffy-only dud episodes from the game) - Have the community check the episodes listed for each planned reaction drop and let Ron and Michele know which episodes only use Luffy clips for transitions. There are dozens of other ways to approach this, but any one of the above would probably work really well.

The armlet was among the treasure they got on thriller bark. After they defeated moriah there was a scene where nami and luffy were digging thru the treasure pile and luffy found the armlet, thought it was cool, and put it on. The reason moriah had it was because Captain John was one of the zombies. The one who was relaxed and drinking among the zombie generals.
