Ino thought sai was cute the first time they met, and then he called her beautiful and she was smitten. Also in her dream in the infinite tsukoyomi filler, Sasuke and Sai were fighting over her. Then in Shikamaru’s Story episodes, they really focused on the ino/sai bond. They had been dropping little hints throughout Shippuden about them, and then during the Sakura’s Story novel, they built it up more (to summarize, ino/sakura/sai became a team for a mission called ino-saku-sai and they bonded; Sakura was kidnapped and Sasuke briefly returned to the village to save her but she saves herself and he leaves without them reuniting. Ino confesses to Sakura she likes sai and decides to pursue him). Then by the end of Shippuden/naruto & hinata’s wedding, sai seems to have returned her feelings

What I like about this episode is that it reinforces the fact that Sai never was truly able to be emotionless, even under Danzo before he met Naruto. Otherwise, his jutsu would never have worked in the first place.

Glad you love and appreciate these episodes!! Thank you Ron for expressing that with different generations youll have experiences. The grandparents example you brought up was good. Boruto literally hates getting compared to his dad, and wants people to treat him as his own person (even the central focus of Kagura's arc lol) but a lot of haters do exactly that :/

The academy days of boruto was a 5-7/10 at best which I enjoy but once they hit episode 39 I do agree they definitely need to skip to only manga canon until at least episode 120 since they enjoy these anime canon arcs might as well show the best ones of the group

Welp, I like these episodes too. Makes me feel and think, "the kids are alright" 😌. Slice of Life is my bread and butter, especially for action-oriented media. Anybody else in the comments complaining can go kick rocks or watch Bleach or something. 🤭

I really enjoyed these episodes! the first one because, relatable as an artist. The 2nd because it feels like the end of their Academy school days right before the big graduation exam to become Genin. It's like that feeling of graduating Middle school and wondering if you'll ever see your friends again, that melancholy thought of "will we last forever?" Super cute. I love all the parenting in this show, letting kids figure things out for themselves, the learning process. I LOVE Boruto. Ron said it well, the show is well written, even the slower episodes. It's fun, it's playful, we love the world.

How Ino and Sai got together: Remember early shippuden after the tenchi bridge arc, Sai was reading books and seen that friends use nicknames for eachother. He called Sakura ugly and she got hella mad and beat him up. Then they all went to BBQ and he sees Ino and calls her beautiful and Ino was blushing. But before that Ino was infatuated with him and sat beside him. So for me I guess that’s how their ship started. Then ofc the end of shippuden we see them in different scenes clearly foreshadowing them being together The class rep’s name is Sumire (Sue-me-ray) Ron - Sumire’s summon Nue was the same one that was the giant. It can change sizes This gets so much better guys just wait and see

“Anime canon” was invented to put a fresh coat of paint on filler because of how much viewership drops when people know it is filler. How it fooled so many people into accepting it as a real term, however, I will never understand. If the author of a story will never once refer to or even consider the events of “anime canon” when writing future arcs, then it isn’t canon, simple as.

They want to see the cool fights, but do not want backstory that is why anime like solo leveling will not last long. You can only do the same thing over and over again before it becomes stale to the viewer. Problem is people no longer want to relax and enjoy anything. These two episodes are important to the canon, it doesn't seem like it now, but that's what makes the journey fun. They set up backstory for the characters, move the plot in subtle ways, and really show what Boruto's life was like. These moments are what makes the manga and time skip hit harder for me. People were so busy complaining, why Naruto verse got tech, that they didn't pay attention. These new Kage's changed their villages for the better, we should be celebrating Naruto's hard work. Technology was already 90s advanced in OG Naruto, people just didn't pay attention. They had tvs, science labs, movie theaters etc., but our gang didn't have the luxury to truly enjoy life as children due to war. People are upset at Boruto's anime, but this show is everything Itachi, Minato, Obito, Neji, Asuma, and Pain wanted for the next generation. Everything serves a purpose to the greater themes of the story. I don't know why people can't just chill and enjoy the ride. Not everything needs to be a fight to be entertaining.

If you have been reading the manga, then you would have known that Inojin and Himawari are one of the most prominent character in the timeskip which mean the Anime have the foreknowledge of the manga long before it even arrived in the Main Story. In the manga, Inojin and Himawari relationship came out of nowhere without a backstory while the Anime have the privileges of building up the foundation of the worlds and characters interaction unlike the manga which was clearly undercooked

We're finally getting close to when the series starts to pick up! Sadly, there are a handful of arcs throughout the show that aren't technically filler but have no real impact on the over all story. I think that's the main reason people dislike the show so much. Every arc in naruto was impactful, but a few boruto arcs feel kind of unnecessary or empty if that makes sense.

I think the main reason people dislike the show is because they take the anime canon/filler into account when they didn't do the same for Naruto. Most people hopped in Naruto with a complete journey and didn't go week by week since 2002 no matter what episode was playing. The problem here is you get like 15 episodes and then a year of filler, then 4 episodes into half a year of filler, then finally like 40 episodes into a year + of filler for 7 episodes. Some people like them, and some people don't but the people that don't will speak very loudly

Lol i love how boruto fans arguments that boruto is good are like "The anime is good because the tech advancement + peaceful slice-of-life is what Minato, Obito, Neji, Asuma, Minato wanted for the next generation" That just mean the village is in good state, doesn't mean the anime is good.
