I actually dont consider the Bount Arc to be a filler. People just dont like it. The characters from fillers are not supposed to show up in main story like this. The villain also shows up in the story later on. It just leads reactors to further confusion. Watch the bount arc on your own time at least.

Its a little confusing, but dont worry about those three filler characters. They arent a major part of the story other than small things like saving Kon there. It might be worth watching the Bount arc on your own if you have free time. Just binge it real quick in a day or two. Bingeing a couple seasons of anime doesnt take as long as youd think. You'll probably want to stop watching it half way through anyways. It's ass.

Im so glad that no one spoiled the dad reveal :) We had to listen to you guys theorizing about the mom consistently this whole time. We were waiting for this moment. It's also the real reason that he showed up to greet Ichigo randomly in the night before he left for the Soul Society, and we all had to bullshit you with excuses for why he was there lol. Isshin knew about his son's awakening the entire time. Soul reapers can sense other soul reapers ;) Ichigo is not very good at it, though.

Filler is created to give the Manga time to get ahead, It's just a fiction story, and has nothing to do with the actual story itself. Canon is certain events happen in the story that is labeled "official” by the creator and or fans. Say if in the manga a supporting/secondary character is killed. This is now canon to the story as made by the creator. Canon is what is written by the creator of the story, FIller is when the anime producers make to fill in to create space from the Manga. Which is why It's called FILLER.

The anime really blends the filler arc characters into the story. If you weren't aware that they were fillers, you would have thought it was just part of the story. That's what I thought when I originally went through bleach. Doesn't help that bleach has like 30-episode filler arcs either.

They weren't in the manga so that's whey they are filler. Just because the anime adaptation chose to include them in canon stuff doesn't make them canon. It's always a bad idea when anime adaptations try to intermingle filler stuff with canon.

All your questions will be answered, some soon some much later. Side note, Itachi's VA is the white haired sickly captain that Rukia's squad is from. Also, regarding Ichigo's dad, it does somewhat make sense in a way because of how he always picks fights with Ichigo. It's almost like he was fighting him all the time to train his fighting instincts, which is why Ichigo was able to pick up on things quickly. The dad also probably knew that Ichigo was fated to become a Soul Reaper so he wanted to be prepared. In addition, the fact that the Kurosaki name wasn't known within Soul Society isn't strange, Isshin could've created a fake name or adopted the wife's last name instead, which isn't as uncommon in Japan This arc is definitely one of the best but it will have its ups and downs. Although it may be a little slow, this arc will have the most epic moments in anime history.

at this point i think 20-ish of the Shinigami you have met are "Captain level" or close? the original 13 captains, and like 3 other members of soul society who haven't gotten much of any screen time yet. Urahara, and Yoruichi were stated to be former captains of divisions 12 and 2 respectively then Ichigo (who fought toe to toe with Byakuya) and we can assume his Dad (the white coat Isshin has is a captain's cloak, Lieutenants only get an arm badge)

Fun fact. In the English dub Ichigos dad voices different characters(that I know of) in the show. He voices both kenpachi and Isshin in the dub along with some other characters.

24:20 I don't think the term arancar has been revealed before, but in the episode at the end of the very first fight with the grand Fisher way back at the start of the series, there's a single moment that shows grand Fisher being operated on (to turn him into an arancar) by a hollow with a broken mask, that's the first arancar shown in the show. (Honestly can't remember if that was only in the manga or if it popped up in an end credits scene

Tite Kubo really enjoyed putting elements of other cultures in his work, Like Chad being Mexican, and Quincy's having German themes (Like Uryu's attack names) This arc has a lot of spanish music and naming themes. I'm sure people will point them out to you as things go on, but I really like the addition and inclusion in this anime. A lot of my latino friends growing up loved Bleach for this reason as well (And because it's just a good show lol)

Looked it up and this is what i found: In Bleach, the use of Spanish, particularly in the names and abilities of the Arrancar and Hollows, stems from the creator Tite Kubo's personal preference and aesthetic choices. He found the Spanish language to have a "mellow, bewitching sound" and felt it suited the mysterious and somewhat erotic nature of these characters according to Comic Book Resources, says Comic Book Resources, and CBR. Additionally, he assigned different languages to different factions in the series, with Spanish being the prominent language for the Arrancar and Hollows, while Soul Reapers are primarily Japanese, and the Quincies are German.

So in this case, Grand Fisher saying Ichigo is a true blood just means that Ichigo has a Soul Reaper father. Not that both parents are Soul Reapers, you can make that guess but that’s not what Grand Fisher meant. Also Michelle is right, Grand Fisher is after Ichigo because Ichigo beat him before. When Ichigo’s dad shows up in his Soul Reaper attire, that is the captains white robe he is wearing signifying he is/was a captain.

The reason why no one in the Soul Society commented or even mentioned Isshin's name to Ichigo is because no one there knows that Ichigo is his son. They know nothing about this connection, otherwise someone would have mentioned it at least once. (And no, this is NOT a spoiler/for all the clowns wanting to be morally right again 🙄). It's just basic common sense. No one in Soul Society knows anything about Ichigo except that he's a "special human" with Soul Reaper powers who was also trained by Urahara, someone they do actually know.

For Naruto: Itachi and Jushiro Ukitake ( long white haired captain) have the same VA. Renji and Choji have the same VA, Temari and Hitsugaya (child prodigy captain), Minato and Ichigo's Dad. Also in the beginning when Ichigo first fought byuakya he only got rid of Rukia's powers, neither of them at that point knew ichigo had his own soul reaper powers. But who knows if Ichigo would have eventually realized he had his own powers if he did not meet Rukia.

I don't have any trouble pronouncing it correctly, but many people might read it wrong since they’re not familiar with the Japanese vowel sounds—A-I-U-E-O.

[Tidbits] - Kubo uses a narrative trick here that he often employs, he has Ryuken insult Uryu while also giving us direct information, yet because it was delivered as an insult the audience doesn't really pay mind to the information. So let's put it into perspective, Uryu who nearly killed a Captain did so with inexperienced Quincy powers, just imagine what his actual potential is. - The Isshin reveal is awesome because like most things in Bleach if you go back and pay attention you'll see the signs. - It's important to remember the context around what Isshin and Urahara discussed, they said the Isshin hasn't been a Soul Reaper for 20 years, 1. What does that mean and does any method exist that can make a soul reaper not be one for such an extended period of time? 2. What happened that caused him to not be a Shinigami (food for thought)

I don't know if someone already told this or not but if you want, at the end of each episode, after the ending and "what will happen in the next episode" there are little thing called "Shinigami Golden", there are not long but funny to watch ! (that similar to what is done after the credit in Demon Slayer. xD) Is up to you if you two wanna watch them or no. (Normally that was starting at episode 53)

the mom must be human sense thats the only thing that would be unique about ichigo birth, plenty of soul society folk get together so thats nothing special, ichigo is clearly more then just some noble, he has almost limitless spiritual pressure as they keep hinting at, and the dad is clearly retired like the guy who runs the shop and the ninja lady/cat, hes settled in the human world and most likely took on a new last name to live privately with his family., he the only one out of the three who started a family in the human world it seems.

You guys ask lots of good questions, one thing I'll say is whenever the phrase "captain-level" is used it refers to captains and lieutenants (who are called 'assistant captains' in Japanese - this is how it's translated in the manga). Eg when Byakuya fought Ichigo, just before he turns hollow, the anime subtitles say: "Byakuya: You've defeated many captains to get to this point" but he actually said "you've defeated many captain-level soul reapers", because he beat Renji and dusted 3 lieutenants before fighting Byakuya
