episode 39 is in my top 10 all time episodes seeing Mitsuki's backstory made me love him and Orochimaru much more as characters!!

The name “Mitsuki” has more than 1 meaning btw. It also has the kanji for “moon” and “light”, which were referenced in the episode (they wished for him to be the “moonlight”) and in the title name FYI. The novel has more info about Mitsuki’s backstory, but basically Orochimaru wants Mitsuki to make his own choices, but also succeed where he failed - Orochimaru was too wrapped up in his pain from his parents’ deaths, and that’s why he spiraled down the path of darkness and started pursuing immortality jutsu. He wants Mitsuki to be different from him and to protect his home, the Leaf, in his stead. This isn’t explicitly stated, but the subtext is there

Just want to point out during the bell training Mitsuki activated the sage mode against Shino. Well it only showed the green aura then cut away. When it cut back Mitsuki had already beaten Shino. Granted Shino wasn't going full try hard since it wasn't a fight to the death but still impressive

We finally got my favorite prequel manga canon episode and watching it again keep proving that it’s one of the best episodes in Naruto history due to the deep thought that is put into it. Now here comes my least favorite anime canon arc (that I’ve watched)🥀💔… imma still watch though just for the the manga canon arc that comes after this

Ron excited for that opening scene to come to fruition just like ever has since 2016-17😭. The manga canon arcs are so good (the next manga canon after 5?-66 is on so 148-151 it’s a very small arc that transitions into a bigger arc)

Guys, I think you should start watching the next reaction from chapters 51 to 66, which would cover the first arc of the Boruto manga. I don't know who told you that chapters 42 to 50 are canon anime. In my opinion, they're filler. I don't know if I'm wrong. If so, could you please tell me how they contribute to the main plot? Anyway, I'm just writing this so you don't waste your time. If that's what I think, it's filler and doesn't contribute anything important. So, skip to chapter 51 in the next reaction. ☺️

This arc explains how Boruto met Katasuke and the scientific ninja tools development which is the premise for the movie. Also, it's Shikadai story arc and Boruto had his shared moments with a conflict relationship between Shikadai and Ryogi so it is a followup to the chunnin exam. People thought Injojin and Himawari episode was a waste of time but it turns out their relationship have become prominent in the main story which was formed in the timeskip and quite frankly, we would'n't have known how it happened without the anime that came way earlier. Also, we might see Ryogi again just like the Hidden Mist characters appeared again in separate arcs.

But even so it is not necessary for you to watch chapters 42-50, you can watch them separately if you want, they are not important, with respect to the ninja tools they are developed more in canon arcs of the manga that come later, like the arc that comes before the introduction of that important character that we know and that arc is very good. As for hima and inojin, I never complained about their episode 33 because obviously it is important for them to see it, now if we talk about the shikadai and ryogi arc and other characters it is pure filler, they do not contribute anything to the main plot, it is time for them to react to the first arc of the boruto manga, they are already introduced and connected enough with the characters, so that this arc reaches them as we all loved it, it is time for them to focus on what is important, boruto. Believe me I love Boruto, I'm up to date, I've been watching it since the first day it aired in 2017, so I watched all the episodes every Sunday including the filler ones and I can be sure after checking it yesterday, that they are filler, since I love this show I want you to have the best experience possible and enjoy it as much as I do and many others who love this, that's why I know that episodes 42 to 50 are a bit boring and tedious, even worse if they don't contribute anything to the main plot, so it's better to skip them and start with 51 now.

This is my first watch of Boruto so I'm down to watch whatever episodes they put out, but I think they're following the filler list on animefillerlist but there seems to be 2 versions of the Boruto list so they might be using that as a reference for which episode to watch.

My theory is that Orochimaru cloned himself but somehow used Toneri's DNA (how he got that DNA? Well, he is Orochimaru after all LOL ) to augment the clone, because he was never able to achieve Sage Mode with his own body. Any complete clone he made of himself wouldn't be able to achieve Sage Mode either because his clone would be identical to him. By using Toneri's DNA, he was able to achieve that for Mitsuki. Hence, why Mituki also has some of the looks of Toneri. It is uncanny how much Mitsuki resembles Toneri. Although he doesn't look exactly like Toneri or Orochimaru. LOL
