Sushi Squad, tomorrow's stream we will be planning our FIRST EVER SUBATHON!!! Yes, thats right, we will be doing a subathon! It's just ironic that in recent events Texas/congress/Trump is trying to ban anime because it's too political. Trump fired the head of labor statistics because he didn't like the historically low job numbers, those being a result of the on & off tariffs leading to big companies like Microsoft to make huge layoffs. More over lots of companies trying to cut corners with ai, whether by screening people arbitrarily using ai or by outright filling the position like when people noticed at a convention that the hosts used ai art to fill background spaces and such. This poster that R&G used is only a small microcosm of the public's use of ai, not to mention the artist behind studio Ghibli (Hayao Miyazaki) was very very opposed with people using his art style to portray right wing political narratives online using an ai generator.

forgot to mention the SAG-AFTRA writers strike, and also the game developers getting unfairly treated by their companies pushing ai. Also freelance artists, it's just a full circle thing that we're noticing. There's nothing that we can actually do about it, but pointing out how it's affecting everybody is just something to do. If they want to use Ai it's fine, just a little off-putting when you start to think about the greater context is all

As much as I would love it, I dont think subathons work great for one piece if you will be actively reading the chat. works better for one piece i think if chat is in the "closet" until after episodes for discussion, but a lot of times spoilers are shoved in by idiots trying to ruin it for everyone.

I personally despise generative AI. I find it super unethical, uninspired, and lazy. Sadly it's something that will likely remain unregulated everywhere for a long long time. It's here to stay, I've accepted that at this point. And I get the appeal of fast, free, and "quality" art. So I can't even blame y'all for using it. I just hope you'll maybe consider hiring an actual artist the next time you need a promotional image. There are plenty of skilled artists out there with fair prices that would gladly help you guys out. Or you could even ask us for recommendations and we'll point you to some of our favorite online artists. Anyway I think I yapped enough. Good luck and have fun with your first Subathon, guys.

I also don't like the idea at all to watch One Piece during a Subathon. For people from other time zones it kinda sucks. Then its also not possible to have the footage on screen which is kinda meh during a reaction. And the point with the spoilers too. Then supporting here on Patreon and not having the reactions as usual in a way like.. knowing they are actually far ahead now on twitch... Would just be weird in a way I think.

Arent literally all artists taking an amalgamation of the techniques and styles of other artists, making them their own to create art/images? The way it learns how to make the images is truly no different than a human artist learning how to do it.

Lol, ai is here to stay, it is better to work with it than against it. As much as I would like it to be all human made things, that is a relic of the past, and we have to work with it now.

Why hire an artist when they can use AI which is not only cheaper but also takes a few seconds to generate art. I get the whole argument against AI since there are people that have spent years perfecting their craft just for a robot to do it in a few seconds but unfortunately this is how the world is and you either adapt to it or don't.

@Ryan If that were true Ron's eyes in this picture wouldn't have so many inconsistencies. His pupils are different bizarre shapes, the highlights in his right eye don't make sense, and the sclera of his left eye is bleeding into the side of his nose. Even a rookie artist wouldn't make these asinine mistakes. Any real artist will tell you that eyes are one of the most important parts of your art piece to get right. Clearly it was only an afterthought for this AI. So no, we don't "learn" the same. Not even close. @wram So in the near future when AI can perfectly replicate reaction content, we can all stop paying Patreon creators and just watch Rice and Ginger AI instead? It'll be basically the same thing after all. Who needs creative human input anymore? We got robot "opinions", baby.

if you are an artist it would be in your best interest to make things that are more appealing to people than the things that ai can make or else you will just get left behind whining about something that isnt changing (and in many ways may be a better than someone you). i would suggest you join a few fine art shows to sell your own things to learn what people actually care about in artworks... there is a reason schools harp on composition quality, sensible medium, and theming so much.
