If I had to rate them out if 10. Og Naruto 8 Shippuden 9 Boruto 7 I am a hard defender if Boruto and don't think it gets as much love as it should get but I also admit it's my least favorite of the 3. Also anyone who rates any of them 10 are on cope cuz there's plenty of problems with the anime as a whole non of them are perfect lol

Ryūchi Cave is one of the big three sage regions like Mount Myōboku so that’s why it similar it’s also where kabuto went to train and learn sage mode

I think you guys should strongly consider doing a poll once this anime canon/filler arc ends. Just to let y'all know, episode 66 equals chapter 10 of the manga, and you don't reach chapter 11 until episode 148. The actual story is being postponed for this filler/anime canon.

TLDR; OG - 9, Ship - 7, Boruto - 7, TBV - 9 (so far) ---------------------------------------------------------- Assuming we are talking manga canon only (Boruto spoiler-free 👍): OG Naruto - 9; I feel like people let the bad pacing and dated animation of the anime get in the way of seeing how amazing OG Naruto is. There's no arc that's just significantly worse than the others. It also starts and ends so good. All the characters felt perfectly used, minus Sakura (and Shino during the Sasuke Retrieval Arc--very convenient that he was busy lol). I understand that part of her character growth has to start with her feeling subpar as a ninja in comparison to everyone else, thus granting her the motivation to seek out Tsunade. I just wish it could've happened a bit sooner, and I feel like they did almost nothing with her being a genjutsu type (which we found out before Tsunade showed up) ...even in Shippuden. Speaking of- Shippuden - 7; It has its ups and downs like any other media. I just think the quality takes a noticeable dip after the Five Kage Summit arc. Even during that arc, everybody was pissing me off lmao. The side characters weren't handled that well as a whole, with a few minor exceptions. Shippuden started off pretty good but didn't end too strongly imo. There were amazing reveals and very hype moments (some of the most iconic in Shonen history), but cohesively, I feel like OG did it slightly better as far as storytelling and character handling. Boruto - 7; Say what you want, but Boruto has its own charm that I can't help to love. One big reason is that I relate to Boruto as a character pretty heavily, but also that it builds on something that felt very weak in Naruto--that being the Otsutsuki. I also feel like we get to see Naruto and Sasuke at their peak, both as characters and as fighters, which feels so rewarding after going through all of Naruto. The core team 7 feels much more balanced, though Boruto clearly is favored by the story (as one would expect). One weakness is definitely its use of side characters, in which it shares with Shippuden. However, the anime does help with this, so I'm not too critical of it. One final critique is that the big antagonists do not have much depth to them, that being the Otsutsuki. I understand that this is the point (like Frieza--you're not supposed to sympathize with them in any way), but with Naruto giving us such in-depth antagonists from the very beginning it was a bit hard to get used to. Outside of the Otsutsuki, I have no qualms about the villains. I would love to say more, but I don't want to say too much in case Ron or Michelle reads this out of curiosity. TBV - Ngl, the first arc is a 9 for me. We'll see if it keeps the momentum going. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Ryūchi Cave was actually introduced back in Shippuden — it’s where Orochimaru got the White Snake powers, and where Kabuto trained to get Sage Mode (he even explained it during the fight vs Sasuke & Itachi). As you pointed out, it’s one of the three great unexplored sage regions along with Mount Myōboku (toads) and Shikkotsu Forest (Katsuyu, the slug).

I'm ngl, I did side eye him a bit when he thought Boruto and Sarada would no diff them, considering he saw Shikadai had Boruto beat TWICE on screen in a 1v1 lol. And the strongest person Sarada has beaten thus far is probably Buntan, who is one Chunin. How tf Sarada gonna handle a Jonin and two Genin by herself? She couldn't even beat Mirai alone who is also a Chunin, and she struggled against Araya (another Genin) during the Chunin Exams. His memory man... 😅

Agree with you 100%. Although I will say on a slightly unrelated note, jonin rank doesn't mean much in the Naruto universe. The ranking system became useless pretty quickly in the original Naruto series. Jonin and chunin rank ninja are as strong as the plot demands. They are either used verbally to state that someone else is impressive skill-wise (as like a benchmark when Kakashi tells Boruto that he's chunin level during the academy graduation exams) or as fodder in a fight to show how strong named and/or significant characters are in comparison

How does Ron still not know (or is surprised) about the Vanishing Rasengan that Boruto can throw when there's been a lot of time spent on it since it was introduced within the last 20 episodes? Less than that if we're just counting the eps they watched LOL. And Boruto Stream which was used so many times so far. Also Toneri was sealed on the moon by the third Otsutsuki as shown in a prior episode. I'll give the benefit of the doubt on the Toneri one cause it's a short scene but forgetting the other two is kinda wild considering the emphasis or screen time on them. Or maybe they're watching too many shows to remember

Fun fact on some Itachi Lore: When Itachi and Obito slaughtered their clan, Obito was the one to kill all women and children but Itachi killed his lover himself with Tsukyomi. This is the first time someone has ever been killed with a illusion! In Tsukyomi, he gave her a life of her growing old with him and having a family together. In Tsukyomi, she died of old age, in the real world her heart stopped at the same time.

i agree with alot of your points tbh my score for boruto would be an 7.9 because himawari exists lol and i think this arc in particular acutally does go in depth with the antagonists later which is why its my favorite arc along with the deepa arc and the main kara arc

@Tigress12 That's totally fair. The stuff with Deepa definitely isn't appreciated enough. I lowkey wanted to put Boruto at an 8 simply for how the manga ended on such a high note, but I felt weird putting it above Shippuden lol.

My ratings: OG - 9/10, Shippuden 7.5/10 (higher highs but lower lows), Boruto 5.5/10 (mostly cause powerscaling and lack of depth in manga canon episodes; also biased against the doubling down on the Kaguya stuff; anime canon story and character development I'd give a 7/10)

Idk, I give both Naruto & Boruto a 7.5~8 outta 10. It's all one big story to me, so I don't rate them any differently from each other. Actually, that's something I keep my mouth shut on, but I'mma speak it here (this is not directed specifically at Ron btw! you good fam!). I think it's weird to rate parts of a story against itself. Naruto is a huge example of this; fellow anime fans see "OG Naruto", "Naruto Shippuden" and "Boruto" when it's technically "Naruto" & "Boruto". And even then, Boruto is a continuation. I'm always left shrugging at ratings like that cause it's literally all one big story, give it an average score of 7.5 or something and move on, lol.

I do admit the ranks don't matter to much but at the same time they do still matter to a degree. While yes jounin come in all different power lvls it's still something to take into consideration. Being a jounin tends to mean they have a lot more experience then genin. Basically you shouldn't just accept rank =better but for the majority that absolutely is the case so it should be considered at the very least when you are trying to judge who's actually stronger. Ron and how he judges power has always been weird to me and I have yet to find out how his brain works lol some times he will just assume someone is strong even tho he hasn't seen them fight then other times he will assume they are weak just because he hasn't seen them fight. I am starting to think Ron power scales squarely on who he thinks looks cool or not lol

scale: 10 = perfect, 9 = masterpiece, 8 = very good, 7 = good, 6 = enjoyable, 5 = average, 4 = bad. - naruto og - 9.1 a consistent masterpiece from start to finish. it doesn't have shippuden's narrative peaks.. but it never really dips either. - naruto shippuden - 9.3 not flawless in pacing.. but with some of the highest peaks in shonen history. complex, emotional, and iconic. boruto - 4.9 very inconsistent. sometimes enjoyable.. but often mediocre. poorly written antagonists and poor use of side characters. boruto tbv - 5.8 interesting start and some hype moments. so far.. just "average to enjoyable".

I mean, yeah, the anime are but the story itself is made by Kishimoto over a long period of time (15 goddamn years!). Boruto is still supervised by Kishimoto to some degree. Its literally one huge story, why break a whole grand story up into parts; it's childish and stupid. ┐(￣ヘ￣)┌

The Ryuchi cave/white snake sage was mentioned in Shippuden by Kabuto during his fight with Sasuke and Itachi. He trained under the snake sage. There's some connection there to help y'all out. Funny that Ron says the cave reminds him of the Kabuto, Sasuke and Itachi fight lol the irony. When Boruto was in that genjutsu it reminded me of when Naruto was caught in Itachi's genjutsu the start of Shippuden when him, Kakashi, Sakura and Granny Chiyo ran into Itachi. Same mental state of everyone saying horrible things to him

Ehhhhh not really that surprising. Kabuto is very underrated. He was implied to be Kakashi level in og Naruto (obviously pre-MS but still very impressive considering Kakashi is one of the strongest in the village)

Hey Ron, i dont know if you remember but that "small rasengan" was actually boruto's vanishing rasengnan. Remember he has that? Uses lightning chakra to change the nature of the rasengan, like how naruto used wind chakra to create rasenshuriken.

Man the snakes were the lamest to me lol. Frogs obviously coolest with the katana and smoking pipe, the slug only ever being summoned at 1/3 and its ability to split was cool, then we have the snake whos cool moment was getting used as a meat shield by sasuke.

Oh, for sure, I know he was very skilled. But wielding Nature Energy specifically was said to be very difficult and only a select few could master it. I could totally accept being on Kakshi's level, but even Kakashi never obtained Senjutsu of any kind. That's why I was surprised that Kabuto of all people not only learned it but even mastered it to a degree better than that of Orochimaru. When we were first introduced to him, I sure as hell did not see that in his future LOL.

Great stuff guys. Just a reminder for Ron. The White Snake Sage is like the Old sage Toad that Jiraiya went to for sage mode training and the foretelling of his future. Orochimaru actually tried to attain snake sage mode and went on a journey for it but he failed the tests! His body couldn't handle it! This was one of the main reasons he searched for a new body. This was mentioned in Shipuuden but it's all good. Just a refresh. Kabuto was able to unlock it though. He mentioned Ryuchi cave by name I believe in his fight against itachi/Sasuke. Its highly likely the White Snake Sage is more powerful than Orochimaru.

It's kinda crazy I forgot they changed the design of the White Snake Sage. In Shipuuden they portrayed the Snake Sage as a literal giant badass white snake coiled up on a throne. In Boruto it's an old snake lady lol

Did you know men also have a hormonal swing for a certain period of time (pun intended). It's not as extreme as it is for females, and luckily we don't have to deal with cramps and stuff like that. But we also can experience somewhat of an emotional swing. When you look for it, you'll start to notice it slightly

Orochimaru doesn't have sage mode, so he can't be a snake sage. The only ones to have snake sage mode are Mitsuki and Kabuto
