The illness Jotaro talked about Josuke having when he met him for "50 days" was when the events of Stardust Crusaders were taking place. Similar to Jotaros mom he became ill when Dio awakened stands in the Joestar bloodline. That's my understanding at least.

to give you an idea of how much I love part 4, the fights and the music are among the top three things that I look out for in an anime, and in my opinion part 5 has the best fights as well as the best music. However part 4 is STILL my favorite, because the characters and the setting are just that good.

Oh for sure. Dio is iconic, but the main antagonist in this one is up there with Monster and Psycho-Pass, in my opinion.

JOJO trivia time!! - shining diamond = crazy diamond. it refers to a pink floyd song. Araki is 100% in his pink floyd era in this arc, there will be a few references to the band. you can listen to the song here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWGE9Gi0bB0&list=RDcWGE9Gi0bB0) - josuke's voice actor also voices kagami from kuroko no basket - yes, koichi is voiced by the the guy who voices deku, eren, etc - aqua necklace is a reference to "aqua", an album by the band "asia" (even tho it's a british band lol) - yes, michelle, this will eventually be your favorite part. it has a lot of stuff you mentioned liking lol

Quick answers to your questions and additional info: -Part 4 is set in 1999, part 3 in 1987 -Josuke's design is inspired by Prince, one of the manga author's favorite artists -Josuke's VA is Kagami from Kuroko Basket, Koichi (the small friend of Josuke) is Eren, Jotaro is Erwin -Part 2 happened at the start of WW2 (1939), so Joseph hates the japanese partly because of that and partly because his daughter Holly married a japanese guy so she moved to the other side of the world "from" Joseph -Josuke suffered from the same curse of Dio as Holly and was sick for 50 days like her because he was too young to "fight the curse" so technically Joseph and Jotaro saved his life too without even knowing it in Part 3 -Star Platinum's catchphrase is "Ora Ora Ora" when attacking, Josuke's stand Crazy Diamond's catchphrase when attacking is "Dorarararara" so pretty similar Also a headsup warning, starting from part 4 basically everything will be named after a musician or song so your subtitles will be wrong. Josuke's stand is Crazy Diamond, a reference to "Shine on you Crazy Diamond", a song by Pink Floyd. The subtitles incorrectly have Shining Diamond as his stand

Part 4 is my favorite because of the characters and specifically the later half of the season. so definitely prepare for that. Also the openings don't really spoil anything so I would just watch them. Also just like last season which you missed the 2nd variant of the 2nd opening, the final opening of this part has a 2nd variant when something with the villian happens in the story. So look out for that.

the WW2 thing is something fans have a consensus for, but the only canon reason ever stated in the anime is the holly reason at the end of part 2

I might be trippin but I think I remember seeing it in one of the info boxes in the manga, where Joseph was not very fond of japanese or germans due to WW2. It might also be a reason to the ”Stroheim never saw JoJo again”, as Joseph did not consider Stroheim a friend but only an ally to defeat the pillar men

oh yeah ! diamond is unbreakable is next, not golden wind. This one has my favorite bad guy, killer queen is underrated. Josuke is the least liked of the jojo's, but I honestly I feel this arc is underrated it has some of the best writing but due to the small scale of the event's its overshadowed by golden wind and stone ocean., the animation too is awesome and different from all the jojo's; they did such a good job with the colors in this one.
