crazy refresh pull

Loony

i litteraly just opened the app

Loony

ron i like your theory write that in your notes

EnzoTorales

I’m the biggest One piece original anime defender but for example the Dressrosa arc needs to be watched by One pace cuz that shit is crazy

Kaviyan

If you guys ever have questions or doubts about parts of one piece don’t worry it will all get answered eventually. This is why one piece and oda is the GOAT

100Rainy

Luffy's asked Gaimon (little treasure box man), Crocus (Laboon's current caretaker), Dr. Kureha (Chopper's old lady mentor), Vivi & Karoo, Iceburg (mayor of Water 7), and two random zombies from Thriller Bark to join his crew before. So he doesn't always recruit everyone he invites.

지원

Well said, Ron. I really think the same way. That's what makes Oda really special and amazing

100Rainy

This arc really is pretty solid imo. Between the lore, the world building, and the Fisher Tiger/Queen Otohime flashback, all of it is pretty good stuff. It's just that almost everything to do with Hody and his gang is not that interesting and they unfortunately take up A LOT of screen time.

R

1:40 most of the comments regarding how "bad" fishman island is mostly pertains towards the pacing yes, but I believe people also say that because even though the content within it is great (but is held back by the pacing especially at these parts right before these eps), compared to the rest of the arcs youve yet to see, fishman island might seem like whatever in comparison for whats ahead (although the themes and writing in this arc is incredible) so it inherently just makes it underrated to a degree. Also have to account for hordy being somewhat of an underwhelming villain coming right after the timeskip, although this could be just to showcase how strong and competent the strawhats are now in strength

Deepak

i feel like this was the weakest arc, but important history, and lore like you said.

Deepak

next few episodes are hilarious

R

2:40 I agree with your sentiment on not watching one pace, I appreciate yall for sticking to the OG anime. I think the people that want one pace want you to experience the beauty of the series/story without it being held back by pacing bc of toei since things can be really dragged on sometimes for no reason, but if youve gotten this far without experiencing disinterest then stick with the OG anime of course. there is an arc later where it definitely feels worse than this, but ultimately its definitely best for yall to choose whenever you guys think if a switch is ever appropriate if it ever does get really slow for yall

Aman Gupta

I am gonna let Ron investigate what Rayleigh said in Episode 400 at 18:45 to 19:00 😉 he may hear the Voice too

Dominic

Luffy be like: Chopper is my emergency food and Jimbei has to become my emergency blood doner. :D

Bibi

If I remember correctly he didn't asked vivi to join but he did welcomed her if she wanted

leisuresoccer

I am as curious as you guys about what Noah is built for. And I think Joy Boy has mentioned in their current progress right? Roger and Luffy are special so they can hear the sea kings talk

Captain Usopp aka God Usopp

The one who said slow pace bla bla bla..definitely bunch of Gen Z or Gen Y,they have too much fast paced stimulate type of anime like JJK , CSM , OPM , DS etc ya'll need to chill this is how anime in the 80's or 90's styles they loved slow pace either in storylines or the battle pace.Believe or not people born in that year have no problem with slow pace,we ACTUALLY waited every week for the series to be drop lol so watching it now like this its already a blessing.

Gene Arias

For me, it’s more about the bond that Luffy has with Jinbe than about adding a fishman to the crew. With Chopper, it was more about having a kind of strange-looking reindeer than about his life story or his skills as a doctor. Jinbe was asked because he was there for during Luffy’s hardest moments.

Ultimate Winner

Fishman Island pacing is p bad imo. Not the worst

King Kai

That premonition is skewed. If Sharley zoom out a little bit, she’ll see that he’s standing in front of an open fire, cooking meat on a spit. It’s a party baby yeah.

Jay rellim

a lot of ppl in east asia still dont have a favorable view of japan

Zero

this arc is bad, but lore wise pretty good arc as you can see from these 2 episodes. Also whole fishmen vs human rivalry, othohime story and introduction of Joyboy and Shirahoshi

Loien06

thank god the arc is over.

Zero

Luffy asked many characters to join the Straw Hats who declined, including childhood friends Ace & Sabo, the doctor Crocus, the eccentric Gaimon, Baratie's chef Zeff, Water 7's mayor Iceberg, the eccentric zombie Unigaro, zombie tree MocDonald and honorary member Princess Vivi. - From Google

Noni

I could be wrong with this but I think why the Pacing is like that now is because at the time when these episodes aired, the Anime is already catching-up with the Manga.. And I think the anime studio wanted to keep producing episodes but they dont want to overtake the manga so they overly drag the scenes... And a lot of episodes are like this. That's why I took a break from watching one piece and waited a 2 year worth of episodes before resuming where I left of 🤣

leisuresoccer

I enjoyed my time in Japan because the yen is cheap now

leisuresoccer

No next episode is still this Arc

Mayank Arora

Vivi didn't decline. She will eventually join at some point.

Meunji

Wdym millenials. I watched the whole arc 1 episode per week 15 years ago. Gtfo

Stew

I opened pink monkey in an incognito tab, I can confirm Ron was not spanking the monkey while studying for tests. Even the website clarifies, this is a G rated site.

lordjaggi

talking pure bullshit, been watching this since high school and i got gray hairs now...

Jaylen Del Valle

i loved OG fishman island when i was doing my first run through of one piece. Now when i rewatch i’ll try the condensed fishman island to see the differences. Also pls never do one pace :)

R

episodes like these are what makes one pieces story so good. things that add more to the lore but also adds more questions, and then the blood transfusion topic relating to the real world which gives it familiarity and relatable, like you do when talking about japan at the end

Tacosareneat

"'a lot of anime watchers expectations are a bit unrealistic and stupid. 'Ugh the pacing. Ugh it's slow.' I don't look at it that way at all" - Ron, December 2025 Everyone remember this. Let's see if he still feels this way when we get to Dre*****a arc lmao. If he doesn't, I'll eat my words, but we'll see. Also, pacing is MUCH more of an issue when you aren't able to binge 6 episodes a week tbf lol.

Tacosareneat

I am curious to see if he still feels this way when we get to Dre*****a. He poked a lotttt of fun at the pacig critiquers today, and I hope when we get there, he at least goes... "Okay y'all I get it. I have now seen this this guy's backstory 35 times and I get what y'all were saying" 😂

Aneesh Paul

This arc is finally over

Misael Matute

The irony of saying that "this is how it was intended to be watch", when it was just because the animators needed to buy time and do as much as possible in limited time... Not to mention it was intended to be watched one episode a week... Trust me if you were watching like that, you would know exactly why this last episodes were so hated..

leisuresoccer

"Sabo is not dead! I refuse to believe that he is dead, he is somewhere out there." "He's not dead 1000% He's gonna pop up again for sure he's too significant" I hope you guys are right

Adrien AURY

In my opinion, a great arc and great story but completely destroyed by bad pacing …

Tacosareneat

I honestly never noticed any issues with one pieces pacing until I started watching that arc. I actually dropped one piece for a couple years lol

Arturo Herrera

I honestly agree with you guys at the start of the video. It felt a bit dragged but aye it just keeps on getting better after this.

Drew

😐 bruh

Daniel

Op pace is bad, and it gets way worse. I nearly dropped the show in the 6/700's if it wasn't for one pace. Consider switching if you feel bored, and ignore the haters

Luck64

Ron gets it

I’m me

yeah no, you got it wrong. Japan didn't turn or do anything, they just deny any and every wrong doing they did, basically did a massive PR to bury all the bad things they did. Ron ur thinking of Germany, they admitted and even make sure Far right fascists party can never get into power etc

Arz.09

Love one piece to death but pacing really gets bad in Dressrosa(dropped it back then and started reading the manga instead)

Jamal Jameika

The thing is, the Pasing get worse and worse

Phyllis

Oda expresses many real world issues through One Piece. I also think he explores how the world might have turned out differently if certain choices had been made. For example, as Ron mentioned, Japan has a complex history of war. Since World War II, Japan has issued official statements of apology and remorse for its wartime actions. However, these apologies have often been seen as inconsistent or incomplete by others, especially when later political actions or statements seem to contradict them. As a result, resentment and historical tension still remain. This raises an important question: what if these issues had been addressed more clearly and consistently from the beginning? Would relationships today be different? I believe this idea is one of the themes Oda is trying to express through One Piece.

Phyllis

I know One Piece has pacing issues, but I agree with Ron that watching it the way it was originally intended is best. One Pace isn’t really an option for me. I’d honestly rather have them watch it at 1.25x speed. And the Fish-Man Island arc isn’t bad at all. It reveals a lot of important information and subtle details that clearly matter later on. People talked a lot of trash about the Skypiea arc too, and now we understand why it was more important than it seemed at the time. Pacing has always been an issue with One Piece because it’s an ongoing anime. That’s not an excuse for the animation studio, but it also doesn’t mean an arc deserves hate just because of pacing. There’s still a lot of plot and meaningful reveals in these arcs. That said, if someone ranks an arc lower because pacing affected their overall enjoyment, I can understand that.

Chop Chop Chopper

tbh Michelle you lost me there. The Noah nothing to do with O’Hara or Robin‘s people. The mythological no I was built to save all species and ensure that they were gonna live moving on after the great flood. This has nothing to do with the government killing people on an island. O’Hara was a man-made genocide not a natural catastrophe like a flood. It is pretty impossible that someone built than centuries ago to save people from O’Hara, knowing that they would be killed centuries after. I feel like that is a really basic concept that should have been considered while thinking about when the Noah’s purpose is. also the Noah is deeply connected to the Fishman and fish island so whatever purpose it serves it has to do with Fishman and Fishman Island.

Chop Chop Chopper

agreed. if pacing is what you watch a show for then you should watch any show.

Chop Chop Chopper

no, it doesn’t, stop lying. And at least we are not having 200s of episodes thriller like in Naruto or need to see through minutes of still image panning like in OPM.

Captain Usopp aka God Usopp

Yeah my country is one of the country that traumatised by the colonisation of Japan and what they did to us,and they did apologise to our country and rebuild our relationship. However i think Japan still not ready to come clean on everything as they still hid their past mistakes in their future generation.I hope they really turn everything over. Mangaka are cool, but Japan....still have a lot do.

Captain Usopp aka God Usopp

this comment is not for u then,as i said the one who said it.If u not then u not 1 of em,but im not wrong.U watch 15 years ago,and i watch it 25 years ago were not the same

Adam

This right here

CoreSoulRU Q

How are yall not making the connection with the bible story Noahs ARK? It so obvious that the ship was meant to be used by the fish-man, to travel to the earths surface. That's why the Noah (ship) was created. Just like Noahs ARK from the bible. This is not a spoiler. Its an observation that makes sense based upon the information given to the viewer at this point in the story.

Zero

that means declining gang. Luffy invited, she declined and stayed. Also this from Google

RubberBuckyy

If you want to watch someone sit through one of the next upcoming arcs that adapts 0.2 chapters PER EPISODE that’s just you

RubberBuckyy

Yes it does? If you want to watch someone sit through one of the next upcoming arcs that adapts 0.2 chapters PER EPISODE that’s just you

RubberBuckyy

If you think 0.2 chapters per episode is a good pace then bro…

RubberBuckyy

The pacing on this arc isn’t the best, but the pacing only gets worse to the point where they adapt 0.2 chapters PER EPISODE, when the average new gen anime adapts anywhere from 3-5 chapters, peoples views and ratings on arcs change solely because of what Toei (the studio) did to the pacing of the anime while in the manga it’s perfectly fine, and THATS how it’s intended to be viewed not what Toei did. I mean why do you think they are remaking one piece lol.

Kayso

One of the most beautiful, meaningful and symbolic scenes with Jimbei giving his blood to Luffy. Everything tied in so well. I don't understand all the hate this arc gets. Michelle at the start "It'd be crazy if it were 6 more episodes of this" lol you're right. After these episodes we got 6 more episodes of Fishman Island arc. 574 is when the arc ends so its getting wrapped up.

Kayso

Next couple arcs also gets a lot of hate especially the arc after next (which is personally one of my all time favorites, plus the villain). Don't get me wrong One Piece is slow paced here and there and can drag on. My issues were the arcs before time skip but from Fishman Island onwards I don't have a problem but I can see how people have an issues with it cuz ngl rewatching this arc I did notice the parts that dragged on. I don't agree with the One Pace thing either. You should watch it in its original format just like we did.

Cath

Hmmm… i’ve though of noah’s ark too but not it being used as a transportation. I’m more in line of what Michelle said. It will be used in the future for the same purpose of what Oda drew inspiration from—to save humans from u know what.

Cath

Didn’t really watched one pace so I don’t really know the difference. But my suggestion with the awful pacing is to watch in 1.25x or 1.5x speed. That’s how i’m able to watch OP. In 1.5x speed, it’s like i’m watching MHA, i think that’s the perfect pace.

Saint Bonnie🎭™ 🆁🅲🅰

One pace basically cuts out the anime stalling and only use the manga canon parts. But ngl watching a show sped up is outrageous

Gino

> You should watch it in its original format just like we did. This feels like one of those old 60-something year olds trying to force making things unnecessarily harder for new generations just because they had it harder.

Sunova

15:20 Ron cookin up clickbait titles mid video 😭☠️

Fellerz

I agree watch it the original way your first watch through and if you want to rewatch it just go One Pace

Jordan

one pace has pros and cons, yes its manga canon and therefore cuts a lot of anime only scenes out, but at the same time, the anime fleshes things out very nicely that the manga doesnt/cant. for example oda isnt regarded as fantastic when it comes to fight choreography in the manga, and certain things are hard to follow and/or just arent very fluid for the reader at times, however the anime gets to polish these things and really emphasize and make clear certain points. this alone is a net positive of the watching it in the original format. theres also certain exposition from characters thats elaborated on, or added to, that helps the story in my opinion. all in all, its personal preference on how you want to enjoy the show and i wouldnt say that anyone NEEDS to consume this story in any specific way, it just comes down to whats important to you in the story, and how you best enjoy it. i think one pace is a great thing to have for some people, and its not for others.

Low

HAHAHAHA love your intro about why a fight with a fish go soo long 😂 hahaha finally its over.. I really love this ending.. end the hate.

phoenixkaito

In my opinion, you guys are fine with sticking with One Piece. I myself think the pacing is horrible and unbearable later on but it never felt like an issue when I was watching once a week. For those who binged watched / rewatched, that's when it really feels terrible. As you guys only watch 6 episodes a week, I don't see much of an issue, if anything, it's just the impatience of viewers that want to get down the episodes faster.

SomeoneElse

The ending to this arc is so good. I love that scene with Jimbei giving blood. This is a path toward a very real sun, not some empty wish. Beautiful words, music, and JOIN MY CREW. So good!!

Chevito117

I know pacing is tough, but with so much lore and information about the history and “future” of the one piece world, a lot can be missed when binge watching episodes. It’s already tough to catch all the smaller details in anime because things happen at a set pace (vs manga when you can study frames or re read comments made to fully understand) so with the slower pace it might help.

Zoodinger

Another pacing rant. This arc was fine except for a couple of rough spots, the pacing gets REALLY bad the arc after the next one. BUT it kinda balances out because that arc is PEAK, and personally I like it even more than Marineford despite Whitebeard's death being my all-time favorite episode (along with Robin's "I want to live" as a very close second). However it really was horrible for people watching it as it was airing. Being able to binge it through makes it a whole lot more bearable.

Love Yourself

This is the reason Sanji was bleeding n losing blood, that build up for this moment. Ron’s little speech about Japan was on point. Thank you for such an eye opening thoughts

Lisandro

Wow Ron's deduction was so on point, Noah's true purpose resembles the noah's ark. Ive never thought about it, good one ron

Lee

Not gonna lie, that whole blood transfusion scene makes me bawl my eyes out every damn time. Such a powerful scene.

Jaime Sandoval

Not gonna lie, Michelle’s theory about supposedly the Noah saving Robins people was absolutely so random😂

Саша Милошевић

You... never thought about that even tho the ship is literally called noah ship of promise?.... thats one mighty power off deduction my man

Relaric

Late to the show, but I dont think ppl suggest One Pace to get through the story faster. They recommend it because while the manga itself can have pacing issue, the anime is even worse because of its weekly format. It's similar to Dragon Ball Kai, which was more true to the manga than the original anime, which added filler and padding. So if we're talking about the way it was "intended", then I'd say One Pace tries to line things up closer to the manga. Also, I think its important to remember that some ppl watched this weekly, so they felt the show drag significantly more than if they were watching 6 episodes per week. What you consume in one week was equivalent to a month and a half for others.

Lisandro

no, it never occured to me to think about Noah’s ark while I was listening to Noah. My mind just didn’t make that connection. Because in Argentina we call him Noe, its noe's ark in spanish. i just let it slip, my fault king

Lisandro

plus i didnt know about Noe's ark story that much

Liza

just leaving a comment, almost done with fishman arc with you guys 😁

Erik

Im showing my brother and his wife the entire show. If your too impatient, that sounds like a skill issue.

3lliott

We finally know who “them” is now😮 one piece is so deep
