Jjk should be in your top 5 for sure. And I'll be honest this time Ron 🤣, dunno how season 2 alone doesn't get it there (s1 too is great on a rewatch) I'm telling you when you rewatch it, just take it all in. There's so much cool fucking shit. Even just Mahito learning from gojo so he can domain expansion for .02 seconds, one example. It's just great writing and the characters and limits they break and clash with each other. Jjk has style and story in every single interaction, it's beautiful. Just enjoy it and let all the dialogue really sink in

Nah Ron, you're totally right. JJK is dope, it really is awesome, but there are soooooo many better series out there. It's perfectly reasonable to not have it in your top 5. In fact, in 5 more years of you guys making content here, i'd be surprised if it's still in your top 10.

Nah lol I have faith man. Jjk really benefits from a rewatch too I think when you are too busy trying to react you miss all the nuance/depth which Jjk has in spades. It's set up and detail is just too good

This is just simply not true bro. Of all anime out there jjk is like a true successor to HxH and even out does it in some ways. Jjk only gets better and better every time you rewatch or reread. Page for page it just outdoes 90% of anime out there as far as pure character work and combat theory. And that's not even going into the sheer style of it, and all the depth it's story has without even needing to explain a lot. It's a work of art. And this is coming from someone who's favorite manga is Vagabond. Gojo alone is like pinnacle character work and story. Jjk will be a true classic years from now when all is said and done

Jjk is known for action packed fights, peak moments, good powers and power systems, and is more entertaining than hxh. But hxh has a far better plot, better characters, so many themes, better power system, more strategic fights, better lore. There are just 2 characters who rule the plot in jjk which is gojo and sukuna. HxH has a much better plot, better lore with different paths and goals for each MC. Above all, it's not a good vs bad plot.

There are sooo much series better ? Like what ? What are these sooo much series ?… when jjk manga was coming out it was the most selling manga basically every year and even surpassed one piece, but yet there’s sooo much better, why downgrade something to try and prove a point. The manga spoiler reactions were getting millions of views in a couple of days. What manga/show you know has everrrrrrrr done things like that, literally trending #1 after a spoiler drop cmon man. Why hate just enjoy good anime

@just_a_guy Just Curious, but have you finished the manga? I thought jjk had absolutely insane potential, but there is a huge unfortunate trend of mangaka getting burnt out and ending their stories 5-10 years too early (demon slayer and my hero academia are other examples). I think JJK could've been top 5-10, but definitely not now. Instead, its simply really good.

For me JJK immediately went into the depths of hell when S2 ended. The writing was not as strong as season 1 in terms of plot and felt a little too rushed in my opinion. But, I am excited to watch your guys reaction to S3 just to see the fuckery.

Yeah its kind of hard to beat Mappa, Ufotable and Toei when it comes to animation nowadays. Studio Bones i feel really stepped up in the last season of MHA especially though. Im sure what Mappa is doing will become more common as animation continues to evolve. Hell honestly though I feel like some Chinese studios are doing it even better than the Japanese ones, I.e. the Lord Of Mysteries people.

Not much action packed series but CloverWorks is also up there with their recent shows My Dress Up Darling Spy Family The Elusive Samurai (this one is action packed) Bocchi the rock.. Top notch production quality right there and a lot of creativity

Yeah. Almost any time I talk about an anime I'm actually talking about the manga. JJK had a much better ending than some people gave it credit and people are already starting to realize that. Without spoiling for those who haven't read it, the main plot and throughline are just phenomenal. Epic insane character moments in a couple of the greatest fights ever written. Character growth through showing in some genius ways. Some side plot stuff might have seemed odd, but the real jjk stuff was just wonderful. Very smart writing and attention to detail

Oh I love HxH bro. It's fucking amazing. But the strategy in jjk is damn near on the same level. The current hxh is fascinating but some things in hxh can get a drawn out and bogged down in text. It's still the goat, I was just making a point that jjk really shows hxh some love through It's detail

The key part in animation is time, OPM animators didn't have a lot of time so they couldn't put out a super good product it's not like they purposefully made it look subpar. It's like telling a chef to make a meal for a family in an hour or 2 vs giving them days to prep, the chef with more time will most likely put out a super good meal.

They don’t work on anime seasons as soon as one is finished, if I had to guess I’d probably say they had 6-8 months of production time

I always recommend to read the manga (and the fanbook) if you want to fully understand JJK, the anime adaptation tend to cut scenes from the manga, especially with JJK after s2. I already watched the first 2 episodes of JJK s3 and they already cut some important scenes and dialogues, and using different cuts from the manga that makes it less impactful so I recommend to read the manga after watching the anime. I'm not saying the anime is bad, but I feel like the anime always make people misunderstand things since its not as clear as in the manga. For the animation production itself, S2 and S3 have better quality for some scenes (even though its like better and worse for some), but S1 and the movie deliver the information better, from my perspective.
