EDIT (after watching the whole video) - Ron to answer your question about the score of this cour, it was on its way to being a 9.8+ but then people from the One Piece and Naruto community (the haters) started bombarding the website with bad reviews in order to bring it down...but even with all that being done EVERY episode still maintained a rating of 9/10 or higher...anyway, the start of this War Arc is literally like none other in ANY anime, ever. The rollercoaster of emotions you feel, the level of hopelessness, the immediate losses of known and respected characters, its a war arc done right. There are soooooo many things i want to touch on but i dont want to talk your eyes off lol but did you notice how Yamas body was still standing even after being cleaved in half? BOSS. also, Michelle is always based af with her takes ngl. I dont think shes glazing, I think this Cour is actually so damn good that you cant help but say good things about it and be speechless...its truly a masterpiece and the fact its done in a movie quality fashion sends it all the way home...Ron how dare you say your experience may be better than us OG watchers who waited 10 years? WE SUFFEERED, We had to stand our ground against the other anime communities bashing us and making fun of us, eventually saying BLEACH doesnt deserve to be in the big 3... we have SCARS man! (lmao). Lastly ( you probably wont read this until way later ) but, This arc does not slow down MUCH, obviously there are episodes where lore and world building is needed but even those episodes are so well done and keep you locked in...every cour also gets better with animation too. :) YOU GUYS ALSO FORGOT TO WATCH THE SPECIAL ENDING AT THE END OF EPISODE 7, ITS SAFE WATCH NO SPOILERS

this is teasipping delicous triple drop :blessed: <3 while i agree with both of your views, since i kinda grew up and still do with bleach, i think the 10 years the fans spent re-reading, rewatching, retheorising, hoping and being very underlooked and undermined from the others, kinda made their pride and enjoyment insanely way bigger watching this being animated! so while i do get the momentum of having it fresh, we are talking about superfans and fans here that have even the slightest of details and symbolisms from the original manga and show not only memorised but passionetly having them in their memories is another feeling. I feel like one of the main reasons Yhwach isn’t as well-known as Aizen is that his name is so hard to pronounce 😂. The proper way is You-Ha-Ba-Ha. Personally, I just say You-Ha. When I first heard/read the name, I thought it was You-Watch lol Wandenreich= Van-Den-Rike

You can just call him yuhavok. The Japanese pronunciation is weird because they don't have the v sound or the ch hard stop at the end of a syllable. Dunno why everyone insists on the Japanese pronunciation yuhabaha, no one refers to Chad as Tsado.

Everyone, except Ichigo, refers to Chad as SADO because his name is SADO. Ichigo misread his name when they first met, thought it was cool, and stuck with it as Chad. The name Yhwach is Hebrew in origin, regardless of whether he is presented as German or not.

I would just like to point out that after Ichigo kills Shaz Domino and sees the destruction caused by the Sterritter, he instinctively uses Sonido to teleport to Byakuya as quickly as possible. IDK if it's because Sonido is faster than Flash step or because his emotions took over his instincts, or a combination of the two. But I love that little detail in the sound design.

Guys this was such a dope experience re-watching it with you. I absolutely cannot wait for the other triple drops - TYBW is Kubo at his peak !!! Some of the vocab for this arc : Schatten Bereich is the Quincies base of operation Stern Ritter are the Quincies who were given a letter by the Majesty, they are the strongest ones YHWACH is the Majesty's name, most of the fanbase call him Yuha for short. The name is in reference to God's name in the Bible, which matches with the Quincy's themes as well (angel wings etc...)

I completely disagree that its 100% fair to exterminate a whole race based on that thinking. Here is why? I feel like Ron's is justifying Quincy's extermination because he likes soul reapers. But imo Quincy view on hollow is exactly the same as soul reaper had for quincy. So like yes, its technically unfair for quincy to kill hollows cause they cannot be purified. But like the world is survival of the fittest. If soul reaper cannot do their job fast enough, then quincy doing it themselves is not inherently wrong at all. We know Soul Society is corrupt and has procedure. Hollow could easily kill a lot of human before soul society can save them. Not saying SS is bad or quincy is in the right. its supposed to be gray. It sounds like Soul Society was against the notion that Quincy can fight at all, since they killed every surviving quincy. To me, signal that they don't care if you are good/bad quincy at all. Which is same thinking Quincy has about hollows. Only argument is Soul Society tried to talk to Quincies. Not saying Yhwach isnt evil. he def is. but like you can't say because of 1 bad guy, means whole race is.

It's meant to be a German sounding name pronounced like yuhavok, but there's no V in Japanese and no phlegmy ch at the end of a word in Japanese. So it gets changed in Japanese pronunciation, the V becomes a b and the ch a ha. It's the same with many western based names in anime, like Chad; listen to the way Ichigo says it, he says Tsado, not Chad. Japanese speakers often add extra vowels in words that have syllables ending in consonants other than N. For whatever reason, the dub just copied the original Japanese va. I remember this same discussion from a decade ago before we got the anime, when everyone was breaking down the name origins and why it was changed from directly copying the Hebrew name for God YHWH to be German sounding. The Japanese use of B in it really indicates it was meant to be a V like in German and not a W sound like in the Hebrew name, that and the addition of an extra syllable at the end indicates the CH was meant to be a hard consonant in the romanticized spelling. In the end it doesn't matter which you use, yuhabaha just sounds weird to get out of your mouth, like deciding to say Makudonarudo instead of McDonald's.

The only thing we know is that he’s someone who led an invasion 1,000 years ago and has now returned—nothing more. You’re using advanced information to say “how didn’t you figure that out, oh my god,” which is kind of pathetic, but everyone likes what they like… At least it makes it easy for the moderators to just delete it, or if you have any decency, you could do it yourself. No guys no,u misunderstand Yhwach emotion its not humanity or whatever positive emotion.It more like regret and guilt,his character depict as someone who use his subordinates as shield and kills them nonchalantly (remember when he introduced?he beheaded one his casually). So in Zanka no Tachi South he thought Old man yama brought up anyone who died by his sword (including hollow/human/soul reaper/quincy),BUT on this particular case Old man yama is using Yhwach own subordinates that died "betray" by him (used by him as shield 1000 years ago Old man Yama mentioned this when he say "u havent change 1000 years ago,still using/killing your own subordinates"). HE IS EVIL NO DOUBT

Both my dude. Ichigo does not say Chado, he says Tsado. There's no ch in Japanese. It's like Makudonarudo, they just replace weird sounds with Japanese sounds in borrowed words and names. When I said everyone, I'm referring to people talking about the anime, reactors call him Chad, fans call him Chad, everyone calls him Chad, knowing his true family name is Sado. The subtitles say Chad as well, but when the Japanese va for Ichigo actually says the name, he pronounces it Tsado. It's the same situation for yhwach. There's no V in Japanese, and no phlegmy CH either, so both get replaced. If he hadn't intended it to be a V sound, then they would have just said yuhawaha, but they replaced the second consonant with a b in spoken Japanese. The spelling, the German inspiration behind the change of the name from YHWH, which can very easily be pronounced with Japanese syllables, both indicate yuhavok is close enough.

For clarification, the "memory" reawakening in Ichigo was more along the lines of genetic memory-how DNA carries built in memory, like how certain animals naturally know to do things without being taught(like Spiders weaving their webs, Birds building nests, or Birds/Butterfly migrating). The Quincy energy from Ichigo non-stop clashing with the "Jail" awakened the dormant Quincy abilities.

The Japanese VA is saying it with a CH The other va’s refer to him by his real name (Sado), not “Tsado” like you keep typing. my personal ranking is dependent on series or anime. how good it is Anime-wise: Bleach, Naruto, One Piece How much I love it: One Piece, Bleach, Naruto Since michelle brought it up. IMO S1 is my favorite, followed by S3 then S2. S1 def has nostalga bias. but I also think the suddenness of the war, the pacing, animation put it number 1.

Aizen is so cool. Def my favorite. My favorite goes in this order: Aizen, Shunsui, Gin Ichimaru, Yamamoto, and maybe lets throw mayuri. Hmm, I dont think reactions complication really says much unless you just don't think about the show after it ends. For me, some shows grow better over time. Like I miss something subtle like themes, character development, or signifnance to specifc action or thought. Or maybe a show didn't resonance much when i first watched now it does. Some shows I really love now that I didn't like too much was HxH, AoT. Frieren, Haikyuu, One Piece, and Bleach. Those 5 show when I finished were not ranked top 10 for me. One Piece i watched up to Alabasta and thought it was trash. Rewatched i2 yrs later and its in my top 5. AoT/Frieren top 5 now. Bleach top 10 now. HxH I loved but after rewatching it, i notice stuff like Gon's development which is so subtle. HxH is my no1. Recently doing some sport with my bro, badminton, gave me of a connections to sports. So Haikyuu jumped. Little piece of AoT. I didn't like S4, I grown to like it way more. but I let that really made me think s1-3 is not good as I remembered. Rewatched it, shit bro. S1-3 is so fucking good. Ending/Final Season isnt my favorite. but man s1-3 was on a generational run.

The Hebrew word YHWH is pronounced yah-way. There's no B, there's only 2 syllables. It was inspired by the name, it was germanized to distance itself from a deeply important religious name. As far as Chad goes, what I really am trying to point out here is the addition of a vowel at the end of the name. The Japanese way of sounding out CH from borrowed words is weird and not the same consonant as in English, the tongue is in a different position which is why it sounds sharper with a mix of a T sound in it. But whats being ignored in this conversation is the very obvious o added to the end, why is that there? Why does everyone talking about bleach say Chad, without adding a vowel like the Japanese do when they try to say the name. It's because in Katakana Chad is spelled with 'do' at the end, because a syllable ending with D doesn't exist in Japanese. They approximate sounds that don't occur in Japanese. Yhwach is approximated as well as yuhabaha, ba is as close as katakana gets to a V, and ha is as close as it gets to that hard ch sound from German. That's the reason that they used those sounds to approximate w and ch. There's no reason to be a stickler on using the Japanese approximation of the name, just saying it as it was intended to be from German pronunciation is fine. Using the approximation is fine too, it's just a mouthful.

As an OG bleach watcher, I actually dropped the anime before the fullbringer arc or right at the beginning because of filler after the Aizen stuff. Yamamoto vs fake Yhwach had everything. I love it so much. Choreography (close-quarter combat isn't choreography, it's just a part of it), themes, animation, and so on. It was a high-priority episode when Cour 1 came out, so you can see the effort that went into it. While Quincies are depicted as Nazis on a presentation level, the actual Nazis are Soul Society, as they are the ones who committed genocide. Michelle was right about how Yamamoto was presented as a "bad guy". The conversation between Aizen and Yhwach confirms that Aizen was aware of the Quincy King. That explains why Aizen made his move there and then, as he would have to deal with the Quincies if it were later than that point. You can feel the pure hatred Yamamoto and Yhwach had for each other through their words. Yama threw anything and everything at fake Yhwach due to his hatred, which clouded his judgement as there were hints of impersonation which he could have picked up on. Yama went as low as he could as he wanted to erase Yhwach and leave no traces of his blood, bones, flesh and even his sword. Yhwach played him as he knew how Yama would react upon feeling loss and gave him the most pitiful death so far in Bleach. And Yama realised he had been played at the end as he accepted his death. Yhwach killed Yama without even using his actual sword. As to Yhwach, Yama isn't even a threat (further goes in line with Yama not making it into the five Special Threats), so killing him with an arrow-esque sword makes sense. That's why I don't think Yhwach will use Yama's Bankai, as it would only acknowledge Yama's power. There was a poem in the OG Bleach material on Yamamoto. It said, "Do not live bowing down, die standing up", and that's exactly how he died, which is a really cool fact. Ichigo was using Pesquisa at 59:38, and Sonido at 01:00:59. These are hollow techniques, further showcasing how he accepted that side of himself, unlike what he was taught during the Vizard training. I love the parallel here between Ichigo and Yamamoto. Byakuya is to Ichigo what Sasakibe was to Yama, and both ended up losing in one way or another. The Ichigo being a Quincy reveal was hinted at as early as the first arc. One hint is how Ichigo's bedsheets in the anime had a Quincy symbol. Another hint is when Urahara explained the lore about Quincies, he used these words: "People with powers like Ichigo's" when Rukia asked him about who Quincies were. That's a very blatant exposition that went over our heads.

Honestly, it was really hard to choose which show is more enjoyable to watch and more connected between One Piece and Bleach, especially after Bleach’s Thousand-Year Blood War arc. Compared to One Piece, which doesn’t have that many filler episodes despite its huge number of episodes, Bleach and Naruto actually chose to insert dozens of filler episodes right in the middle of major arcs at really important moments. Still, for new viewers, it’s a relief that those episodes can be skipped.\

Why not? I am talking about it cause they talked about their top anime rankings at the end. With how they have disliked some of the pacing in Bleach (Like with Szayelaporro fight, or Omaeda's fight etc with padding in canon episodes). I would assume they are going to have the same issue with One Piece and the arc they are currently watching (+future arcs) anime pacing, which gets just as frustrating if not worse. If they still have One Piece as their number 1 anime after, great for them. But I dont think it will with the anime pacing. The Manga and story is great but let's be real, OPA cuts so many points off for the horrendous padding/pacing in canon episodes..

I like the colors and effects animation of tybw but i just find jjks animation more dynamic. No offense to bleach but alot of it is just a bunch of standing around talking and then doing some cool sword shi. With an anime like jjk you get alot more variety in the action. But i wil die on the hill that jjk has better character animation mappa is amazing at facial expressions and capturing emotion in movement, the hakari scene with yuji is a great example.

People notice the animation a lot. But I think what makes the difference is direction. Everything has so much care. Composition, soundtrack, callbacks, title drops, cuts. It creates an overall style/aesthetic. Even if newer anime have better animation, this still stands because it is a good piece of art well put together.

[Tidbits] - Sidenote: Yhwach name and pronunciation is done as a nod to the way God is said in Hebrew. It's Spelled "YHWH" and pronounced as "Yahweh" - Head Captain Yamamoto lost his arm against Aizen when he grabbed his leg and exploded it using Hado 96. - This episode did an amazing job of Humanizing the Head Captain in the worst of ways. In the initial parts of Bleach, the Head Captain was this symbol of power and order, someone who sat above emotion and merely enforced the law. Here Yamamoto uses his power to be petty, vengeful, and intentionally cruel...it's not about maintaining law or order this time, which makes his sorrowed face at the end particularly sad, he's lost the two things that's made him "him" for the past 2000 years...He's lost Control and he's lost Power and couldn't even avenge those who were killed because of his failure all those years ago. - Many paid attention to the animation in this episode, but the best part for me was the character breakdown of Yama and how well Ywach uses mental tactics to win instead of sheer power. Ywach had Yama's squad and lieutenant killed first, this ultimately turned Yama into a rage monster fighting for revenge - In this arc, Kubo specifically targets the characters he's set up as pillars of comfort, Byakuya, Kenpachi, and Yamamoto... When Kenpachi or Byakuya arrived in Hueco Mundo or in the Fullbring arc we the readers often feel a sense of relief, Even in the Soul Society arc they were ultimately used in a similar fashion, so here Kubo takes our safety net away, Byakuya is the 1st Captain to fall, Kenpachi the Second, and Yama' the Strongest Shinigami for the last 2000 years is broken down and taken out. - It's also pretty messed up that Yama apparently doesn't let those he's slain pass over, he instead stashes it for his undead army. This visualization is important, The leader of the "good guys" has undead souls and creates a firey, hell-like battlefield whereas the "bad guys" have angelic wings, blue energy and church bells ring. - In chapter 387 (or during the battle between Komamura and Tosen in the anime) we get a quick Kubo Volume Poem which is about Yamamoto, it goes: "Do not live bowing down. Die standing up." This was obviously a setup for what Kubo would do much later in the TYBW arc. - Ichigo's spiritual energy disappearing when he moved is meant to express that he used the Arrancar movement technique called Sonido. Sonido doesn't exert rieatsu when used. - Some argue that the Shinigami seem too weak, it's less so that they are weak and more so that they were unprepared. For hundreds of years they've hand no real enemies to fight aside from basic hollows. They Quincy are a Military Force with equal might and in this case they've been waiting and preparing the entire time.

Man going full power was basically risking worlds getting destroyed 😲 Zanka no Tachi South... That move broke me 💀💀💀🔥 When the dead started rising my jaw just dropped even further 😱 Also, there’s actually a hint that Yamamoto fought an imposter… When “Yhwach” was walking through the corpses of his comrades, he showed sadness. The real one wouldn’t care like that. I went from crying at Byakuya’s speech to instantly getting hyped when Ichigo pulled up ready to throw hands. That moment goes HARD. Absolute peak 🙌 Aizen just hanging there aura-farming on the cross and trolling is such a mood 🤣💜 You’ll get the full story later but yeah… that’s basically why Ichigo is special. I get it. It's exciting to share something you love with new people and I understand that people want to help explain things to them for that reason. I just think the wink + caps was a bit too on the nose at this point in the show. If you had made the exact same comment without the wink and left the other words in lower case so they don't intentionally stick out I wouldn't have commented at all because it would have just looked like normal information. It was mainly just that you're drawing attention to specific parts of the comment with the winks and the capitalization which leads people to focus on it. If you don't like him as an example: Itachi is a mary sue, but that doesn't make him any less compelling or likeable as a character. The unfolding of his origins and innate powers is a part of Ichigo's character arc, but like you said, if that's not your liking then what can you do lmao. Subjective. People who are saying this have likely just learned what a Mary Sue is or heard someone else use the phrase without fully understanding it. Ichigo is not a Mary Sue. The closest thing Bleach has to a Mary Sue would be Aizen. Ichigo sucks at basically everything and the only reason he was able to do the stuff he did was because he's stubborn and has big reiatsu. He has plenty of flaws and the Fullbring arc is about the consequences of those flaws. If your idea of a Mary Sue is "has all the powers" Ichigo can't even use kido, let alone any other abilities, There are plenty of tropes that Bleach does, but Mary Sue generally isn't one of them.

If Ichigo was a mary sue, this implies he has no flaws or weaknesses and is talented at everything. Ichigo still has a lot of moments where he is worn down and what not. Look. Some people just give one piece a lot of leeway because it has a couple peak moments in marineford, even though a lot of it just isn't that great. Is it fair? I dunno. Bleach pacing in the anime definitely has some rough sections which sucks because espada 9/5 are actually pretty sick villains manga wise. The kenpachi pull up is one of the all time greats as well. Bleach is my favorite, but all big 3 have their issues for sure

A little information for you guys; when Ichigo first entered the soul society in tybw ep7. all of the sternritters say "his spiritual pressure disappeared" Its because he subcontiously used sonido instead of flash step. When he became full hollow in the ulquiorra fight he used it so he can use it now as well.

JJK S3 ep4 (maki vs zenin) was terribly directed in the anime, even higurama vs yuji episode was much better directed. Don't get me wrong the animation and sakuga was fantastic but the transitions and ost were horrible. Also nobody even felt sad for mai. They didnt even show her before we see her laying on the ground. BLEACH TYBW Ep6 and 7 were far better produced than some jjk episodes.

Whats funny is that sometimes you guys take things so literally when you shouldn't, and sometimes you guys don't when you should. Judging by my avatar I obviously love bleach and it’s one of my all time favs swinging between 2-3. One thing I will point out about the show as to why I can’t put it at one is because the show doesn’t hit me emotionally like other shonen. But when it comes to cool characters, creative powers, animation. It’s number one.

I started watching Bleach back when the OG series was still running and really enjoyed the Soul Society arc. And kinda like what you said in this or the previous video, it drops off a bit somewhere in the middle because of the pacing, which of course couldn't be helped. Not only that, I don't think I actually knew the concept of fillers back then, so I probably watched them and eventually dropped this sometime after Soul Society. But I've watched it through this time on your channel, and it's pretty amazing being able to watch a "Big 3" anime with modern animation and no filler or drawn out segments. That definitely adds to the excitement and experience.

The imposter Quincy King was able to copy 80% of his power and 100% of his memories. And the imposter Kenpachi was able to copy 100% of his power and 80% of his memories. According to Kubo. So Yamamoto still would’ve easily wiped him out again regardless. That’s why he needed the distraction.

As someone who followed Bleach since it first aired and read the Manga after the first series ended, this tybw is BEYOND my expectations. This episode alone had majority new scenes that wasnt previously shown in the manga, so it was all mind blowing. Nothing Can Be Explained remix was PEAK, easily my favorite episodes of the series.

Yeah, these 3 episodes are a roller coaster of emotions (Flexie knows lol). We feel hope, fear, despair, hype, and so many more emotions, and not necessarily in that order! We got to see Yamamoto's awesome bankai, only for his victory to be over a false Juha Bach. Then, he gets taken out by the real Juha Bach after getting his bankai stolen by him. He gave his life for Soul Society. The "death" scene with Byakuya is so sad (I knew it was a fake scene as I read the manga from the Fullbring arc onward), and they animated it so well 😢 Then Ichigo gets defeated easily while finding out that he doesn't really know anything about his family. His bankai even breaks, just like our hearts did upon first viewing 😢
