Kisa is such a sweetie she must be protected at all cost😭The teacher’s letter, to me, is rude. She implies that Kisa is the problem for how things fall out. She probably thinks Kisa is a timid withdrawn girl and that’s why she hits her with ā€œlearn to love yourselfā€, which is condescending imo. About Yuki, I think this is the moment that he actually starts changing. He’s taking his first steps to confront his fear by talking about it, even though it’s just a little and then accepting the offer to become the school president (this would later become a pivotal point for his growth). I really like what he told Kisa. How can you love yourself if no one accepts you for who you are, like if your existence alone is already the biggest reason why you are despised? You are surrounded by such hatred and negativity that it’s inevitable to believe that you are the problem. It’s only when someone truly loves you and shows it through words and actions that you start to realize you are actually NOT the problem. Kisa and Yuki don’t just try to be better for themselves, they muster up the courage to face their fear because they know that there’s someone that believes in them, that can see the good in them, that doesn’t judge for failing, that is their home to return to if things get too hard. Thanks to Tohru, they start to move forward, slowly but steadilyšŸ«¶šŸ¼ Michele asked why no one did anything. Well, Akito exists and no one wants to go against him. There’s more to the story later. And I think you might have started to notice too that Shigure is not a simple man at all. All his jabs are deliberate. He doesn’t just say everything for fun. Some of his comments might sound heartless, but that man knows what he’s doing to push all of their buttons.

Kisa, our baby tiger duckling! ā¤ļøšŸ˜ My view is that the teacher's letter lacked perspective. She wasn't writing from Kisa's point of view, as someone who has lived through bullying. Her words came across as detached, almost clinical, as though she was fulfilling a teacher's duty rather than truly connecting with Kisa's pain. That said, I do think the teacher meant well. She was trying her best by encouraging Kisa to be brave and to stop waiting for others to love her and to learn to love herself first, trusting that self-love would naturally draw others in. But the teacher may not have experienced what Kisa and Yuki went through. So she may not understand that sometimes, people need to feel and receive love from others first before they can find the courage to love themselves. Yuki was able to love himself and find his courage because Tohru accepted him and showed him love first and it was that love that gave him the strength to take his first steps forward.

The letter was so interesting because it’s such a common solution that people say to others, just love yourself and then your life will just improve and everything gets better. But that’s such a big ask for someone that doesn’t even know what it feels like to be loved. I love the parallels with Yuki

Love how this show has things people could relate to especially this episode with being bullied in school. Torhu is really the glue to hold everyone together. A true healer. Kisa is basically Torhu's little sister now lol so wholesome

Absolutely. This is the trap that so many well meaning people fall into: instead of trying to make the community/bad actors better, they try to "fix" the victim; thereby really making it into the victim's fault. 😢
