[Tidbits Ep.22] - Comedic scenes revolving around Orihime's attire were removed. It expresses that Urahara made the outfit and Orihime wore it to impress Ichigo, but naturally Ichigo wasn't properly aware. - Many forget that the Shiba family was or rather are by blood one of the 5 Major Noble Families. The fact that they have a canon capable of reaching the Soul Palace says a lot and brings up some interesting questions.(Additionally Kukaku's fire alone was enough to activate the cannon which is equally as interesting) - Many people miss it but Giselle and her awful treatment towards Bambi is supposed to mimic how Mayuri was first introduced. He used Nemu as a tool and was wickedly violent and sadistic. By using Giselle/Bambietta as a parallel it shows us in part how Mayuri has grown since then. (Though Mayuri still isn't that good of a person but certainly better) - Giselle ability is to "Zombify" which is tricky because when we think Zombies we think already dead things. Here it's not the exact same, her Zombification practically allows her to control people and they become her puppets. She can zombify the Dead and the Living. - The scene with Yumichika covering his nose was slightly different In the Manga. Yumichika is actually saying to Giselle: " You're a man, aren't you. You may think you have concealed it but frankly, you stink of semen" [Giselle was born male, but obviously doesn't identify as such] [Reposted]

According to Kubo, Giselle is supposedly a trans woman. Which explains all the she's/he's a "guy" or "you are like me" lines. As for Giselle abilities, it works on soul reapers even when they are alive. Which explains how she got all the soul reapers to kill themselves after they got sprayed by the blood when she/he was first introduced. I would assume lieutenant/captains need to be critically wounded (they can still be alive) to become zombies. Giselle ability only works on quincies when they are dead, Giselle mentions she/he can only use it on Bambi because Bambi was dead.

[Tidbits Ep.23] - The concept of Zombie Toshiro is very fascinating, Toshiro is not only the youngest captain but he's also the most pure-hearted and honorable. Here we get to see what a more ruthless Toshiro looks like. He's concise, intentful, and creative, like how he uses the ice as an extension of his body to make a knee blade or even immediately seal his wounds the moment they occur. - We get slight character growth on Yumichika here, we know that he doesn't want to show anyone in squad 11 his real ability because he thinks they'll no longer accept him as a real squad 11 warrior, yet despite that he was ready to use his real shikai the moment Ikkaku was about to really die (This is very different compared to when Ikkaku was Fighting Edrad and Yumichika simply called for a funeral instead of helping) - In the Manga version of these events, the Byakuya fight against the 3 Sternritter never happened, we only cut to them all being defeated. From what we understand we can expect tons of original and extended fights in the next 2 cours. - Robert [Quincy with a gun] Seems very on edge, he's yelling and sweating and with the way he's speaking it makes it seem as if you have to do enough to be acknowledged by Yhwach otherwise something bad may happen. - We learned in Kubo's fanclub Klub Outside that Byakuya wasn't affected by the love ability because he's wearing clothing from the Zero Squad which has special protective capabilities. - Pepe uses cupid symbolism yet the idea overall is supposed to be a perversion of love, one that is vile and nasty, which is why his Volstanding looks repulsive. Here's the first hint that Gigi is, in fact, a man: he uses "Boku" (meaning "I") to refer to himself, which is used by young men or men who want to "appear" younger. Tomboy women can sometimes use it to refer to themselves as well, so I'm sure Kubo threw that in there to throw people off. Still, again, the other hint is that everything about Gigi isn't tomboyish at all, so why would he use it unless he's actually a man?

These two episodes are where all the weirdos gather, but let it be known this is not the peak of insanity. Upcoming cour has something even more bizarre. Also, one thing got censored about Gigi, but I'm sure someone is gonna mention it in the comments. To answer your question when Hitsugaya died, it was right after getting back his bankai and winning his fight in this cour. We saw a shadow approach him who, now we know, was Gigi. On top of all that, she presumably changed his outfit while doing all that, lol. What happens to all the zombies is now in Mayuri's hands. Considering Soul Society is in turmoil and a lawless state, he can do whatever he wants with his zombie army. Makes you think ...

The reason why Toshiro feels stronger here is because as a zombie he's stripped of any hesitation that he has when fighting usually. He's still not fully confident in his powers, and as Mayuri said he's kind-hearted and tends to fight with honor first and foremost. Here we get an unhinged Toshiro which puts in perspective how strong he really is.

Minor detail that wasn't thoroughly : Pepe's ability didn't work on Byakuya because his coat acted as protection - it's made from the Royal Palace itself, Pepe's abilities were not able to take effect due to that material Keep in mind that the coats and gear that Rukia, Renji, Byakuya and Ichigo received from Squad Zero allows them to go through the 72 layer barrier between Soul Society and the Royal Palace. So yeah, long-story short Pepe's powers couldn't pierce through that. The Squad Zero fits are my favorites in the series

I said supposedly, because Kubo has always been on the fence about Giselle actual gender. He has mentioned Giselle being "biologically male" but also given stances of what gender pronouns the sternreiter (+ Mayuri) call Giselle. (mainly in female pronouns). Its up in the air on how you want to see Giselle's gender. If you want to believe Giselle is male, go ahead. With all the context and nuances dropped, if you want to believe Giselle is a trans woman, go ahead as well. This is such a nuanced topic so.. Do whatever you want with the information.

Japanese Idols also use 'Boku', are they also men? It's not just for tomboys, it's very common for it to be used by young japanese women to come off as 'cute'. You're applying English grammatical gender logic onto Japanese when they do not function the same. Japanese personal pronouns are about social positioning and personality.

If I was Yhwach, i would added him to special war potential 😂 Feats: drippiest captain in tybw, goated inventions, help create a way to soul palace which Kisuke finishes inventing, kills thousand of Rukon district to offset the quincies, analyzed the Bankai plundering, made a white room. Beat Toshiro, beat Giselle. Lowkey a lot. In terms of dangerous (not based on power), I have him up there with Kenpachi.

What are you talking about? So what if some idols use it ironically in a very specific case surrounding their idol persona? I have been living in Japan for 18 years, am married to a Japanese woman, and speak Japanese, so I have a bit of insight into the language and culture. I even asked my wife what she would think of a woman who regularly used "Boku" to refer to herself, and she said that she would think they were strange and probably an anime otaku. No, it's not regularly used to sound cute. If idols do it, it's because they are creating a persona, because that persona, much like anime, is not real. My point still stands, especially in this case, because Giselle is actually a man, and using "Boku" in Giselle's case further solidifies that.

It may seem unusual that Quincies lack camaraderie among themselves, but it's not surprising at all. Yhwach acknowledged the original Gotei 13 for what they are, so he modelled his Sternritters after them. Yhwach said how the OG Gotei 13 did not care about their own people as long as they got the job done. And that aspect of them can be seen in the Sternritters. Giselle is the easiest to decipher as a foil to Yhwach. Giselle uses blood in the same way that Yhwach does. Gigi does it to make zombies, while Yhwach does it to link the Quincies to him. Both Gigi and Yhwach are manipulating and taking advantage of those affected by them, which is similar, even if we can't define Yhwach through conventional words. The reason why the Love or Morphine Pattern did not work on Byakuya is because of the Shihakusho that he is wearing. It is an Oken that helped him to get through the 72-layered barrier that exists between Soul Society and the Royal Palace. So its protective attributes are very high. As for Pepe, Kubo is going for the love is ugly motif. That being said, I don't like Pepe as he's just mid.
