I get the feeling rudius's mom knows Paul slept with a lot of women before her but I also always got the impression that he never slept with anyone other than the maid after they got married so Elaine and everyone I'm fairly certain was prior to rudius's Mom and Paul even getting together they may have known each other but they weren't together

I'd like to point out Rudeus' growth this episode, in his past life he was objectively a loser. He was a shut-in and was also a sexual deviant. Despite this we see in his last moments he sacrifices his life for another, showing that deep down he isn't a bad person. Then he is reincarnated and given a second chance at life. This is where we see him no longer be a bum because he's put in a fantastical world full of swords and magic which motivates him to engage with it. He is finally good at something, magic, and he is no longer afraid of going outside. This alone shows how different he has become since reincarnating as Rudeus. However, one thing that has persisted is his perviness, we see him make mistakes throughout these episodes you guys have watched like with him spying on Roxy or when he tried to fondle Eris. He hasn't completely removed that part of himself yet. In this episode though, for the first time, we do see him try to fondle Eris again but he stops and says "I guess that ring does work". To me that's really interesting because even though this world seems to be more lenient on infidelity and sexual deviancy, Rudeus still knows that those things are wrong and stops himself from doing what he wanted to do to Eris. This once again shows that Rudeus was never truly a bad person, he just did bad things for whatever reasons he may have had. Now that he has a second chance at life, yeah he's fallen into his old habits at times but he is still making an effort to cleanse himself from those things. He sees how good he's doing in life now and realises he actually has a chance to be a different person this time around. Before he probably didn't care much if at all but now he has connections, he has family, he has friends. He has people and things to live for so now he can actually try to do good in life. Sorry for the yap but I just feel strongly about Rudeus as a character because he's so badly mischaracterised and not given a fair chance by a lot of people due to his earlier actions.

I completely agree. Especially as the show goes, having a 5 day break might make them forget some details when there are more moving parts present.

I love how at the start you can tell Rudeus doesn't really like Eris, like when the dance instructor talks about the dance he's laughing at the thought of her dancing and stuff but after she makes him talk to Eris and he opens up and connects with her you can tell that makes him see her in a new light and care about her. Which is why he doesn't do what he did last episode when he gets the chance to since now he actually has care for her and isn't sort of resenting her for kicking his ass and not listening to his lessons. I don't think the Ghislaine and Paul thing was a noble/royalty with beastperson help kind of thing, they were in an adventurer party together (with the mom too) and they just smashed from time to time cause Paul loves cheeks. Also love the line at the end about perceiving something out of your control as a good thing simply because it would be better that way, pretty underrated MT line imo.

For scale of the world, Rudy and Roxy are probably around a couple months journey apart from each other and that could be considered relatively "close" in the bigger picture of things, if that helps.

Don’t know the exact way I should put it, but the show definitely seems to have some wholesome stuff but it’s lowkey getting more and more perverted. I believe im starting to slowly understand why my friends call Rudeus Rudiddy. But maybe things will change and he works on himself? Idk just gonna keep on watching with yall.

How’s doing that comparison weird? Just curious to hear your thoughts. I think it’s a spot on comparison from just what we’ve seen so far. I mean to name a couple things, he’s molested a girl in her sleep, and stolen girls parties. But from what yall are saying maybe he has a big character arc that’s not perverted? So maybe I shouldn’t judge too much. And please don’t give anything that’s a spoiler I’m a first time watcher.
