Coucou les patrons ! Nous vous donnons rendez-vous le vendredi 24 juillet à 21h pour un nouveau Recal'Talk, en visioconférence avec la team Recalbox, directement sur notre Discord.

UN POINT SUR LES VERSIONS

Pour rappel, à l'heure ou nous écrivons ces lignes la 10.1 est d'ores et déjà disponible en test sur le canal de mise à jour patron-alpha via la version 10.1-patron-1-alpha-10.3, pour celles et ceux qui souhaitent découvrir les prochaines nouveautés en avant-première, c'est l'occasion parfaite pour découvrir les fonctionnalités à venir sur Recalbox, mais dans une version qui n'est pas stable à 100%. Nous ferons un point sur cette version qui apporte beaucoup de nouveautés à tel point que nous aurions pu l'appeler Recalbox 11.

Du coté du canal de mise à jour Patron (stable), nous en sommes à la 10.0.8 qui a été le fruit d'un travail d'optimisation énorme avec notamment l'optimisation des performances sur le Raspberry Pi 5 2Go. A noter que pour l'heure le canal de mise à jour "Public" non patron est également sur la version 10.0.8. On vous rassure, les Patrons qui restent en version Patron stable auront très bientôt la 10.1-Patron-1 stable.

Ce travail d'optimisation qui a également bénéficié aux autres cartes (Pi 4, Pi 3, les différents case..) nous a inspiré, et l'été est décidément sous le signe de l'optimisation, aussi les patrons branchés sur la version alpha constateront des gains de performances globaux sur la plupart des émulateurs et un gain qui sautera aux yeux des férus d'arcade avec un boost de FPS sur la Noami 2 et la Model 3, on dit merci qui ? Merci le JVS ! Notre dernier hardware nous a en effet permis de focus notre travail sur des systèmes encore plus exigeants ou l’optimisation n'était pas une option.

D'ailleurs le Guncon 2 a également bénéficié d'une prise en charge optimisée et de la compatibilité avec les écrans 31kHz... merci qui ? Merci le JVS.

UNE VISIO D'ÉTÉ, AVANT TOUT CONVIVIALE

Pas de programme figé ni de format trop formel à l'heure ou nous écrivons ces lignes pour cette édition : nous avons surtout envie de passer un bon moment ensemble, dans une ambiance détendue et estivale autour de l'actualité Recalbox qui est finalement très riche !

Comme toujours, cet événement reste réservé à nos patrons, en accès exclusif. Il vous permet de passer la soirée avec une partie de la team Recalbox, avec en première partie de soirée différents intervenants qui vous feront part de leur travail et projets sur Recalbox, et en deuxième partie un moment d'échange ou ceux qui le veulent peuvent prendre la parole pour échanger avec l'équipe.

VERSION UPDATE

As a reminder, at the time of writing, Recalbox 10.1 is already available for testing through the Patron Alpha update channel with 10.1-patron-1-alpha-10.3. If you'd like to get an early look at what's coming next, this is the perfect opportunity to discover upcoming features before everyone else. Just keep in mind that this is still an alpha release and is not yet 100% stable.

We'll be taking a closer look at this version, which introduces so many new features that we could almost have called it Recalbox 11.

On the Patron Stable update channel, we're currently on 10.0.8, the result of a massive optimization effort, including significant performance improvements for the Raspberry Pi 5 2GB. For now, the non-Patron Public update channel is also running version 10.0.8.

Don't worry if you're staying on the Patron Stable channel—10.1-Patron-1 Stable will be available very soon.

These optimization efforts have also benefited other boards (Pi 4, Pi 3, the various cases, and more), and they inspired us to keep pushing performance even further this summer. Patrons running the Alpha version will notice overall performance improvements across most emulators, with especially impressive gains for arcade enthusiasts. Expect higher frame rates on Naomi 2 and Model 3.

Our latest hardware has allowed us to focus on even more demanding arcade systems, where optimization wasn't just a nice bonus—it was essential.

Speaking of which, GunCon 2 support has also received major improvements, including compatibility with 31kHz displays.

A RELAXED SUMMER MEETUP

For this edition, there's no fixed agenda or overly formal format. More than anything, we simply want to spend some quality time together, enjoy a relaxed summer atmosphere, and chat about everything happening around Recalbox—which has been incredibly busy lately!

As always, this event is exclusively reserved for our Patrons. It’s your chance to spend the evening with part of the Recalbox team. During the first half of the event, several contributors will showcase their work and the projects they’re developing for Recalbox. In the second half, the floor is open to everyone who wants to join the conversation, ask questions, and chat directly with the team.
