After I started to compile my comics in full in their finale posts, a couple of people requested I do the same for FUMBLING THE PIZZLE, which I believe was my second long-form NSFW comic to be posted here - though, in a way, I count it more than Corellon's Funniest Prank because of how involved this one (and Unordinary Circumstances and Ovidian Miracle) was in terms of background and rendering in general. Don't get me wrong, Corellon's Funniest Prank still looks fine, but my standard for how my comics look went up quite a but since it.

In fact, I still don't love how Fumbling The Pizzle turned out. I was venturing into a new IP that I had little experience drawing, as well as experimenting with my style more than usual. I remember being quite frustrated at times with certain pages and poses, to the point of going back and redrawing entire panels and STILL not being happy with them.

...However, I've been doing this for 10 years now. I am happy to say that I am at a point where dissatisfaction like that is not a deterrent - quite the opposite, in fact: I try to make teaching moments to myself out of them. I end up studying my own art and picking it apart often, and it's something I am more or less able to do without letting it impact my confidence in my work. I think it's okay to expect more out of yourself - healthy, even - assuming you can also be patient and understanding with yourself. You might know exactly what needs fixing, but figuring out the how can take weeks, months, years - yet, every step of the journey is wholly necessary.

Point is, I think my comics since this have been far stronger, but I still like this one for what it is. I love the dialogue, the dynamics I managed to capture, I ADORE some specific panels specially at the start and the end, not to mention how this marked my venture into long-form NSFW as a staple in this account.

...Anyways, sorry for the repost of sorts! Hopefully the write-up was a somewhat interesting read even if you aren't interested in seeing the comic again. On that note - sometimes I wonder if I SHOULD be reposting things more often - with how frequently I release new art, I wonder how many people have NEVER seen anything that's older than a couple of months... On the other hand, that can get kind of annoying 🤔 Leave your thoughts below if you have any opinions on this.

And as always, yet most importantly, thank you for supporting me and making comics like these sdbnm,(<- my cat walked over the keyboard, I am leaving it here because I am choosing to believe this is her attempt to also thank you for helping pay for her medicated food, pfft) and even BETTER ones possible!

This is an amazing comics, I think I saw a snippet on insta and immediately subscribed to your Patreon. It’s great to read it in full in one post, thanks for continuing this practice from the Ovidian Miracle

confusedtealseal

It's so beautiful and tender with the right amount of silly tossed in, I love it

Alan Capon

i love them so fucking much 😭

Solanuma

that's ok i'll look at it again :)

Alex

Ah yes the very reason I ended playing KCD. Still love it!

StrayDogSyndrome

I've read this one like 5 times and was not expecting to get emotional with that last panel but here we are. Sometimes I get stuck just staring at an elbow in one of your panels. Your coloring is so beautiful.

Rhapsody

Always love me some insight and this comic still moves me. I can feel their connection so much. And the last scene is so emotional to me. Though I have my own interpretation of what Henry is thinking, of the emotions in the room, I'd always wondered what you wanted to express. (Maybe even to just have us wonder :D)

Fen_fen

I absolutely love how you render the warm lighting on the pages; I was wondering, do you use a texture- either overlaid or underneath- to achieve that grainy effect? The contrast in the last two pages is spectacular.

Tartimoon

Sdbnm too ❤️

You may not be entirely happy with it but I want to tell you that I am utterly in love with it. I love the continuation from the end of kcd2 (in my delulu mind they live happily ever after and 1419 never happend) I couldn't wait for each panel, to see where you were taking it and what the boys might get up too. I loved the gentleness of there love for each other and how they were utterly at ease and joyous in each other's arms. There wasn't anybody else just Hans and Henry in their little warm and safe bubble completely contented and happy. I love the colour palette you used, it gave such a warm and cosy feel to it and made it even more heart warming, the joy on their faces at just being able to be with one another, to have time to enjoy one another was beautiful. The last panel was such a stark difference to the rest and really did make you understand what was going through Henrys head, that momentary thought and subsequent heartbreak...ugh I cried (it hit me right in the feels) but honestly I loved it from start to finish and it gave me so much joy reading it ❤️⚔️

The compilation is very much appreciated and the art rant was delightful. Also too, it gave me a reminder that this comic exists, and i was able to enjoy it again

:((((((( im only upset because theyre not me

seaboi

I actually re-read this the other day and was lowkey hoping you'd eventually post a compiled post. Yay!

Aurora

So many people have said this before but this is THE comic that made me want to try this game. I have now spend hundred of hours playing it, I am going to Czech Republic to see the concert of the music of the game and buying kcd2 art to decorate my house. Suffice to say I am sooo glad you made and posted this comic even if you are not 100% happy with it 💜

Rez

Maybe reposts at a low frequency? Especially if you provide new insight/reflection? I know me personally I scrolled back, but many may appreciate it. This post was definitely interesting

Bash Sídhe

hans inventing secondary sex characteristics heretofore unknown to humanity to cover for a skill issue no less 😔

Pretty sure this is the comic that got me to subscribe to your Patreon and is so far my favorite; so tender and intimate <3

pinemeat

Everything about this comic crushed my soul when I first subbed and read it, now it's all here to do it again (and I wouldn't have it any other way) Also, I got here through Tumblr so you know I'll always support seeing older pieces again, especially when they hit this hard

Hidzia

Imo reposting the whole comic after it’s done it’s a cool idea so we don’t need to search through all posts to amaze at it in one sitting <3

Mackenzie

I frequently go back through your posts to revisit pieces that I love, so I wouldn't mind at all if you reposted them. This comic sparked my interest in KCD so I'm especially fond of it and grateful for that! It's also so cool to see your art change over time! I really admire your approach to growth and change. You've helped me work on my writing with more kindness and understanding for the things I'm not satisfied with. Thanks for sharing with us!

bassonet

I love hearing your thoughts on your artistic process, the way you write is very insightful and compelling. And I personally don't mind reposts! Especially if they come with new context in the caption. Keep doing your thing, we love it! ☺️

Key

ah, so tender ❤️

Via_Tourmaline

The lighting and panel composition makes this so beautiful and cozy and tender, it’s so nice to see it again imo 🥹🫠

MEANBOSS

I REALLY support people interpreting things their own way and kind of making their own stories out of my vagueness, regardless if there was an specific intention on my part or not! In this case, mine was that he is reflecting on the fleetingness of this happy, light hearted moment, and how with the passing of time it will also have to end.

MEANBOSS

Thank you! I always apply a Noise filter over the final art, I feel like it pulls everything together and gets rid of the "plastic" like look that some smooth, lit surfaces can get. It's under the "filters" tab on Clip Studio Paint for me.

MEANBOSS

Thank you so much for letting yourself be that involved with the little story I wove here. It sincerely means a lot to me that it grabbed you so strongly.

MEANBOSS

Czech republic is a beautiful place, I hope you enjoy your visit!

MEANBOSS

And Henry being like "Well he's a reading man so it must be true"

MEANBOSS

😂😂😂 Well thank you!

Fen_fen

Yeah I get it a lot, thank you for the answer <3

Darrah

I like the reposts it’s always fun to experience your art again 😊🧡

Rhapsody

Thank you so much for sharing 🙏 It feels similar to me about the fleetingness, that he can't hold onto it to keep it. But it had also part of good times making you forget what troubles you (or suppress the thought of it). And the, not necessary bad thing, but when I have great times, with lots of stimulating happy impulses and I get home, and it's suddenly quiet and calm, it feels like a drop (maybe also brain chemicals?) and Henry looks like he sits there and feels the quiet wash over him, not willing to go to sleep and let go of this moment just yet.

Topsy

Honestly, reposting old art is great! Because I HADN’T SEEN THIS. And boy when I tell you I locked the fuck in reading it. I was absolutely mesmerized by a few panels, the way you capture light is just stunning. I think I also hadn’t seen this because I started originally following you for the Astarion content, but I am absolutely captivated by these two now. Never played the game, but that’s never stopped me before. So, thank you for the repost! This was absolutely delightful.
