Little guy really said "Sarevok check out this six-and-a-half foot tall pile of [REDACTED] I dragged home".

Sorry, way for me to ruin the mood - but here it is! The final comic.

This is a quick script I had in my drive for ages depicting DU drow's first arrival at the temple and meeting with Sarevok, Orin and Helena (I guess it counts, kind of). You will either find it spectacularly on the nose or be at a loss for what the purpose of any of it is besides cool visuals - either way, I'm happy.

A little context & lore that might be of relevance, if you wish to learn more about their relationship:

(And I would like to be explicitly clear in that they are not a pairing in this story, nor that anything ever happened between them. Theirs is just a tragedy and a narrative exercise in social isolation and cult influence.)

Jaheira could be weird and kinky and wrong. Viconia could work too... they had some flirty banter in BG2 TOB. My male option is a bit left field but maybe Haer Dalis from BG2. If you want a BG3 option I would sayyyyy someone from Sharess' Caress; the drow twins or a Dryad with a "bad idea" sort of taste for evil dudes.

Such an ominous atmosphere!! Really captures the dread of the bhaalist temple. I've also so rarely seen Helena depicted but I like your take here and the way Orin clings to her shambling corpse (figuratively or literally lol) of a mother!

I’ve always felt kinda hesitant to include the romantic feelings I feel my male Durge would’ve likely felt about Orin considering she’s technically his niece despite them being roughly the same age. I always kinda worry it’ll make people really dislike my character because it’s just a little TOO monstrous, but I’m happy you’re able to go there and I don’t hate DU drow for it so maybe I’ll start to include it more in my writing too and be less of a chicken about going too dark haha As per usual your art and writing is fantastic btw, I love this comic 🫶🏽

I totally relate! When I started going into this aspect of the story I was really put off by the way people seemed to misinterpret it on purpose. I don't care if people do imagine their Durge Characters being in a romantic relationship with Orin, but I thought I couldn't be more clear in my writing how much this was *never* about romance, in their case. Ultimately, I think it's a benefit to everyone to responsibly explore these subjects and to encourage people to exercise their literacy skills - though it does require patience and care on your part.
