Alright, y'all. I'm seeing more and having some thoughts and feelings about this competition and the final lineup. I'm understanding why everyone is talking about it so much and where the questions/criticisms are coming from.

We watched the two finale performances ('PARTY b4 the PARTY' & 'WE RIDE') on Twitch and I said I needed to see more before I could make a fair judgment. Thank you to Hunter for sending these links over! Based on the auditions & practices we have here, I don't know that Sakura would have been my final choice, either. I think I can sort of guess what HxG's thought process was and why they'd choose her but... she definitely isn't the strongest OR even the trainee with the most potential. Based on the very little I've seen - I'm sure there's more to her that I haven't seen yet.

I do feel like overall, the group can be really strong and can come together to do what they need to do. The marketing is gonna be a big hurdle, though - these companies have NOT set them up to succeed AT ALL. 😬 Lol.

I wish them well, though. I'm looking forward to seeing & hearing more! The music is exciting to me, so fingers crossed they actually get good releases!

(I loved 'Dirty Water' and 'Girls Don't Like' and then we got... 'Debut,' 'Touch,' 'Gnarly,' 'PINKY UP.' All of those songs have grown on me, but definitely NOT the concept I expected after watching Dream Academy! Also, I just rewatched both of those performances from the Dream Academy finale; I still strongly feel like the talent coming out of DA was muchhhhh higher than what I've seen from The Final Piece. Probably because they trained for so long together before the show even started. Just my honest opinion.)

that practice you watched of sakura and ayana with the three girls was the final 2 last practice before the finale. the ayana party b4 the party was when she was just learning the song during the final FOUR. 🫠🫠🫠 so when you have judges like lauren and bart talking about consistency you can see why!! like you said sakura definitely improved and she had some stronger moments than others but she wasnt consistent. ayana was 😢😢😢

also some context i forgot to mention, the girl with the longer ash blonde hair in finalr 4, her name is rinka. she was eliminated before the f4 but then another girl in the f4 dropped out and she was brought back to replace her. so the other 3 girls had already been practicing the two songs for a while. so even though i knew she wouldnt make the finals i still was rooting for her because for her to catch up and have that much foundation was nice! i feel like in the final she wouldve been strong

For me personally if they had debuted Ayana and stuck with the pop/r&b sound i definitely would’ve been a fan. Unless Sakura is able to drastically improve vocally I just don’t think the group will be set up for success. You can’t have a group with only 1 solid vocalist. But then again Hybe doesn’t seem to like strong vocals. They’re more about performance. I still think Ayana outperforms Sakura, but maybe that was a threat to who they want to be the star (Lexie). Idk, just feeling kinda over this group already

Hahahha yeah I assumed that was the order of the practices but... I guess I was trying to be generous? lmao. Come up with a reasonable excuse as to why Sakura would be so bad in that video hahahahaha. Oh man. Yikes.

Yeah you can clearly see the difference in training between them... which is also an interesting choice cuz the other 3 girls have YEARS of training, why wouldn't you want someone who matches their ability? Now the 3 of them are going to have to dumb down their performance OR wait until she's ready OR just have a weak stage overall cuz one member can't keep up. That's such a weird choice, HxG!

Yeah, literally all of this. Every single word of it. Hahaha. I don't know what's gonna happen, but I don't have high hopes for this group at all. HYBE does have several groups with weaker members who have improved over time, though, so maybe this is their hope here. They definitely want Lexie to be THE star. We'll see, I guess... 🤷🏾‍♀️ (Over it before it begun)
