Hey, first time commenting, love your reactions! Just wanted to share a spoiler-free bit that might’ve flown under the radar: The episode’s chill, slice-of-life mood (especially the part about Maho and Kurisu) was actually setting things up for the ending. It builds toward both of them opening up about their insecurities. Japanese shows often like to explore internal struggles alongside "funny/light" scenes. Characters tend to put on a front instead of showing how they really feel. It's something that reflects japanese cultural norms around keeping emotions private (they're big on that). That contrast makes the emotional moments hit way harder when the tone shifts. That final scene is the first time Okabe talks to someone about the time machine conspiracies. Before this moment, no other lab members appart from Alpha world line Kurisu, Suzuha (well she's from the future so..) and Daru (because Suzuha most likely told him in this world line) have received a straight, face-to-face confession about the time-machine origins or the coming war.

It isn't covered in the anime itself but later in the timeline of the Steins Gate worldline, Okabe joins Kurisu's lab at Viktor Chondria in America and that's where he meets Maho and works alongside her and Kurisu at their lab.
