The Anime Dude

The soundtrack that they play towards the end of this episode is still amongst my all time faves, but it does make me sad cuz it always makes me think of this episode for a bit. 😭 & Regarding your conversation at the end: C.C. did advise him in this episode that if he cares for someone, he should keep them at a distance. 😔

Fun fact: "Maou-sama" (what they're really verbally saying 魔王) is The Devil/Satan/Lucifer/The Demon King (in Isekai) so naming this dude Mao is either perfectly coincidental, or very clever writing mechanics lol. Well, it actually translates to "most evil spirit" but they reserve it specifically for the devil because of missionaries trying to pick a translation that worked. I remember not really liking Shirley when I was younger, but now I feel bad for her 😅 kinda seeing she was just basically manipulated by everyone around her pretty much

I would say, if shirley killed that women (name escaping me), then it would totally and absolutely be murder. Extrapolate the situation to the USA, if you pointed a gun at an active US serviceman who was trying to arrest a terrorist, and as a result, they charge you and you fire, killing them, that's murder, self-defence doesn't include shooting at lawful authority who are trying to make an arrest, even if they are trying to arrest you. So, Shirley is rightfully pretty messed up rn, as she could well be a murderer.

Having watched the entire show several times over (it’s my favourite anime) I think Lelouch loved her, maybe not romantically, but I doubt he’d have been able to be with her forever

Pesonally i fell like the girls around lelouch hiligh/foil his diferents facets instead of just potential romance interest(that is why i will satrt the list with...): Lelouch as a kind and caring brother = Nunnally Lelouch as a nomal student with friends and pears= Shyrley Lelouch as the Idealist rebelion leader = Kallen Lelouch machiavelian and result driven side = C.C. And others that i dont what to spoil
