Yesssss I was waiting to watch something and you just drop this

Ale

MHA day!! 🎉

Gopal

Bakugo made Kaminari go into funny mode so that everyone would be distracted, because he didn't want anyone else to see him paying back Kirishima.

Momo's quirk also requires external input. She uses the fat in her body to create objects. She needs to ingest dramatically more calories than normal

Leonard Martinez

I love hang-out, casual slice of life stuff like the room competition, especially as a breather after the intense fighting. Them walking off showing no interest in seeing whatever Mineta had in his room is hilarious.

The U.A. Beginnings Saga ends and the Rise of Villains Saga begins. The End of the Beginning and the Beginning of the End.

BABY JUMPSCARE!!!! <3<3<3

About Bakugou's mom, it's always interesting to see people's perspectives of her. Personally, I do still think Bakugou's mindset is partially her fault, and whenever I say that people always assume that I mean she doesn't love him, that's not at all what I mean. Bakugou's mom still is part of why Bakugou thinks the way he does, albeit unintentionally, based on what she said and the context she is saying it in. As funny as it is that she acts just like him, she IS still solidifying the idea that needing help is a weakness by immediately hitting and victim blaming her son after he was just kidnapped for 72 hours straight. Bakugou was in a life threatening situation that he REQUIRES help for, and he comes home to a mother that has no problem screaming that it is entirely HIS fault for "causing trouble" whilst hitting him IN FRONT of other adults for seemingly small infractions; that alone, even without outside influence, is enough to explain his instinctual violence and assumptions that anyone who needs help is weak or lesser (although him specifically turning it into a reason to pick on strangers and view himself as the best person ever came from everyone ELSE'S influence)

Jimyree Martin

They never show Bakgou's room, but a funny theory I heard was that it's a tidy and practical room filled with All Might merchandise and gym equipment with a dart board of Deku's face as the bullseye.

Baby!!! 🥺

I know what kinda man you are...

THE BABY IS SO CUTE SLEEPING IN THE BEGINNING MY HEART

Andrea

i agree i think people exageratte bakugous parents to be more melicous than they are though they arn't abusing him in anyway but the "tough love" parenting from his mother definitly plays a key roll into how he goes about problems and how he preceives them though i don't think bakugou really has any emotional attatchments to anyone including his parents so its hard for his parents to know that kind of talk could possibly hurt him cause as far as they know that kind of talk pushes him to do better and go further its kind of like when parents shame their kids for getting bad grades to push them to get As they know their kid is capable of kind of thing for me that would be the best comperison that would fit their dynamic

Andrea

i think it was a mix of both if he truly wanted to do it in secret he wouldve pulled kirishima aside later he saw kirishima and the rest of the class unhappy cause they got scollded for saving him and i think a tiny part of him felt some kind of guilt and wanted to make things even so he made sure to change the mood while paying back him

Shay

The reason I wouldn't say that's the best comparison is purely because of cultural context. Bakugou's mom is unfortunately a very common type of parent in Japan, and it unfortunately IS abuse played for comedy because of the fact that Japanese culture has normalized this kind of behavior. Emotional abuse is still abuse and hitting your kids is never okay; the ONLY reason she gets a pass is because this is fiction, if this was real it would objectively be abuse regardless of intention (so is shaming children for bad grades, that DOES NOT "push them to do better" it pushes them towards depression, horribly low self worth, or dangerously rebellious behavior; I actively watched that deteriorate my older brother's decision making skills and I only a few years ago managed to HAVE self worth) just because the abuse is not malicious does not magically make it not abuse, nor does it mean they don't still love their child, complex situations are complex.

vivaan

these were such a fire two episodes

Shay

Also, as a side note: it doesn't matter if "its hard for his parents to know that kind of talk could possibly hurt him", they are adults and should not be talking to ANY child that way, let alone their own

Renden

We saw this detail at the training camp; both Momo and Sato were eating food and using their quirks.

Amaimon2D

It's funny that they kinda have no patience for foreshadowing at all lol If a character is going through a internal turmoil, they must figure out IMMEDIATELY the source of it all, even though they don't have the character's thoughts nor the context to piece things together.

NoSoupRice

No, it can't be... the reactors are... reacting ?!

VIcK

"Minori" 3 seasons in and they still can't get Mineta's name right 😂

Holy Arathi

I mean considering how he was reacting I wouldn’t go into his room either. :)

Amaimon2D

What i said has nothing to do with reacting though, it's just mental anguish for the sake of mental anguish lmao

KingKuto

Perhaps all might didn't have kids cause he might've accidentally passed on all for one

D B

He told Deku back during the Stain incident that you can only pass OFA on intentionally, so that doesn't seem to be why. Good idea though!

Green Oak

Please stop this bizarre application of real life nuance to anime. If it's played as a joke then it's a joke. Whether you find it funny or not is up to you, but pretending there's severe abuse effects influencing Bakugo is completely wrong. You do not get to assume things and present them as real. In the MHA universe Bakugo's mom is not abusive. End of story.

Shay

Sweetheart, do you not understand anything I said? I never said it wasn't funny, I find it absolutely hilarious, I specifically left the original comment only in response to them saying his behavior wasn't his parents' fault when it is. I then was just giving context as to why this kind of joke is common due to an inaccurate situational comparison, not necessarily saying she is abusive IN the show (even then, it's only in a hypothetical because they just aren't real anyway😅) only IF she was real [heck, I outright SAY she "gets a pass"]. Being able to understand the implications and backgrounds of something without it ruining it for you is a skill you clearly need to learn. Plenty of comedy comes from trauma, it doesn't suddenly make it unfunny nor does it mean that anyone who understands the situations it originates from are suddenly unable to also find it funny. And plenty of the things Bakugou is insecure about are things he clearly got from his mother, she's still not a great mom (she's an *okay* mom, just not a great one). Also: saying application of real life issues to anime is "bizarre" in MHA is wild work given that a good chunk of the villains' plot is based around the societal issues caused by realistic applications of what life would be like if people had powers😂. Applying real life scenarios to fiction makes it MORE intriguing and allows for better writing, it's only a bad thing when people don't know how to do so in regular doses(or are inconsistent) or allow for it to ruin their interest in fictional media altogether

Shay

Also, where did I "assume things"? I'm genuinely asking, btw, because I only ever used canon information in my comment, what part of anything I said is "assumed"?

Chels

Tatami is actually soft depending what we're comparing it to. I slept on it so well. 😊 think of how it would be to walk on grass or a pile of straw without the poky bits. It's not as soft as carpet with cushion underneath, but softer than hard floor or carpet without cushions. Really nice to lay on in summer when you're dying of heat lol

Chels

Thank you! This is what I been hinting at about his character this whole time. I have a parent like her and it really does make you feel like you're not allowed to make mistakes, cry, be soft, and I think she instills in him perfectionism ontop of everyone else who ever praised him for stuff. I didn't like her comment about "they praised him for small stuff" because while it's true they did too much and it did get to his head and fill him with pressure, it also tells him "your value is based on the most you can do" she should be praising her son in a healthy way while teaching that his quirk isn't everything, but even as she was denouncing him and immediately making him bow his head in shame for being a victim, she was also saying "he even has this amazing quirk.." so I know people HATE to hear this, but this is toxic parenting. It doesn't mean she doesn't do things right sometimes, or that she doesn't love him, but I fully believe Bakugo has emotional dysregulation from his mom, doesn't know how to handle weakness/doesn't feel it's ok to be weak, and feels he has to live up to a standard that he shouldn't have to as a child. Who do you think is the first person to tell him what an amazing quirk he has and all that he can do with it..? His mom when he was an infant or toddler. (His father seems like he'd be the type like "look honey, he walked!" And the mom like "that's nice dear... did he explode anything yet?")

Shay

@Chels Glad you understand what I'm saying so well, character analysis is so fun for me😁

Kyo

tbf, he's not a character that most people want to let their mind's linger on, so it's totally fair to get it wrong and never reflect, lmao

CallMeSignal

You know damn well if Satan walked into Mineta's room, he would blush. That boy's got things that human eyes shouldn't see lmao

Nina

yes exactly, and her assumption that he is so great and everyone praises him, so that's why he behaves the way he does implies something sadder to me, because she is so much like him, she probably also never really praises him, and minimizes the value of the praise he gets from other people as just blowing up his ego...but he is her child and a child, so if he doesn't get praised at home and in fact gets judged and lectured for the praise he /does/ get as if it is a fault of his own, then i can also see why he can't even take praise or accept anything besides being the very best...because anything less isn't praiseworthy since it is just assumed to be something he should expect with his good quirk and being pre-determined as the best at everything. if his accomplishments aren't praised by his own parents, then i can see where he doesn't value praise or pity from other people, it seems like a natural reaction to think of praise as something uncomfortable and meaningless if you are constantly being told you have a big head and shouldn't value praise or feel you deserve it unless you actually act like/are 'the best'...then if 'the best' is basically treated like it is an expectation and burden to his parents making him have a bad attitude or big head in their eyes and words...then i can see where he can't really ever feel proud of himself or accept kindness because to him that might seem like having the big head his mom is saying he shouldn't have! she is setting him up to behave that way not only in her own example, but also in how she with-holds praise and looks at the worst sides of him and encourages his resentment of what other people say or thing of him, because for him to accept praise even for the good things he does, it would be too 'proud' of him or embarrassing or shameful, since he should know they praise 'just anything' and he is actually supposed to be better than them all (so nothing can really ever be good enough to feel good with that mindset, because it is actually natural and prosocial for people to be able to accept praise for the good things they can do, especially from your parents while you are forming your sense of self and worldview.) i don't actually see him as 'big-headed' in the way his mom describes, i see him as following her example for how he should think of himself and his accomplishments as never enough and the 'default' he is expected to reach because of how good he is at everything and how above everyone else he's been told he is or needs to be in order to deserve any kind of praise, love, or pride in himself... he isn't really insecure, but what he thinks is practicality, drive and pragmatism, and his huge walls up around trusting or responding normally to how other people treat him, is actually reading to other people as greed, cockiness, being praise-hungry and a problem with his pride...when I think it actually is him having been raised not to accept other peoples pity, love, praise, or assesment of him at face value in order to avoid being the big-headed person his mom is projecting onto him. he can't value his own accomplishments or other people's pride in him or judgment of him without playing into being the type of man his mom is lecturing him as being, but if he doesn't get pride or positive feedback or praise anywhere, then he can't accept it or recognize when he actually does deserve it and nothing can actually feel like enough to 'earn' it either...she's set him up to constantly lose in her eyes, and that gives a kid a huge inferiority complex even though he can't see it that way either because even entertaining the idea that he has that issue would also make him feel like a self-pity he doesn't deserve to feel and he'd then trigger his programing from her that he actually is that ungrateful and big-headed like she says, because he actually /is/ so good at so much, he can't really even face his own inferiority complex without feeling like it is beneath the gifts he's supposed to be given to entertain his emotions that way, and it would make him feel like the exact selfish brat she is judging him as for him to entertain any of his weaknesses OR value his accomplishments....she's made it so that he /constantly/ has something to prove!

Nina

I think even his reaction to Deku shows this a bit, he is constantly having to earn being the 'best' and being told he has a big head for being praised as the best at the same time, so child him can't really figure out Deku being so obviously the 'worst' yet still helping him and still being able to be kind and considerate in ways that he sees as making fun of him for needing something from someone weaker, his compliments make him feel embarrassed and he lashes out for feeling proud when Deku looks up to him in any way, Deku still doesn't stop looking up to and complimenting him, so he reads that as weakness on deku's part, but also a way of mocking him with the attention and compliments, like it is Deku's fault for praising 'just anything' like his mom says the other kids do and punishes him for. He also feels he is the best so he needs to 'be' the best and anything less isn't good enough, since his default in his families eyes is that he has this great quirk and is praised 'too much', he feels a way too intense drive to actually 'earn' the praise and yet he is suspicious of praise at the same time and praise seems weak or insincere or like an admission of defeat or fealty to the person being praised...so he sees Deku worshipping heroes while he has no quirk and has a confusing mix of jealousy for how Deku can be so free with his thoughts and emotions, how he can just be praised and seen for who he is and not what he can do, and also he feels a disgust at himself for needing him or for being praised by him and feeling anything good about it, he feels a disgust in Deku for caring about him when it doesn't serve him and even actually hurts him to do so , and he feels his pride challenged when Deku can so easily be proud of other people and impressed and complimentary when his own parents cant and neither can he without the need for it to be attached to tearing himself down and his whole identity down with it...because if other people are better than him then all he is left with is his own attitude that even his mom hates, because he is being treated like the only good thing about him is his quirk and the ways he uses it or responds to it aren't ever praiseworthy without being reflections of some kind of character flaw....so the only way he can feel good about himself or prove himself is by being the best to at least back that one part of him that gets praised up with action. Deku didn't need to worry about that, since he had no quirk, yet he still was so free with his emotions and praise and care for people and his own values and self esteem even when bakugo himself keeps trying to reject it or lashing out at it...so bakugo doesn't know how to accept him or understand him and his sincerity well without it shaking his own sense of self.

let me make it real simple western: heat the air (fireplace, radiator, heater) eastern: heat the floor (hot water through pipelines under floor) which is why people sleep on the floor, cuz it's warmer/cooler also why shoes off indoors, and floor kept really clean
