So in the manga, Ace left after taking care of the Baroque Work ships (he still gave the paper to Luffy before). The anime extended his stay into the middle of the desert. Then if I remember correctly, during a filler episode, he discovers a new trail leading to Blackbeard so he leaves. The One Pace version doesn't show filler episodes so it does look like he just follow them to the middle of the desert then suddenly leave for now reason.

Ace Explanation: In the manga he did quickly give that piece of paper & then leave after meeting them in the port town outside the desert - the anime added a bunch of filler in the desert to give him more screen time, y’all are watching a version that takes out that filler… but it still needs to show him saying goodbye, so it is a bit jarring for him to just walk out there into the desert a bit & then leave. 😂😂😂

Im not sure if this counts as a spoiler, but I thought it might be helpful to know least the 3 devil fruit categories: Paramecia (like luffy, buggy or alvida) — The most common type. Grants a wide variety of superhuman abilities that differ from fruit to fruit . Zoan (like Chopper or Dalton) — Allows the user to transform into an animal or hybrid form. Logia (like ace or smoker) — The rarest type. Lets the user become, generate, and control a natural element, making them intangible to most attacks .

Excited to see how the first large arc is handled by the fan edits, it was sorta slow in the original but still interesting enough at all times so hopefully not too much fluff is cut. Also finally getting more bon clay, a fan favorite semi problematic character in current times but hes great.

I think you haven't seen my comment on previous reaction so I repost it here one more time just to be sure. I think you should include the episode numbers from the original anime in the title, or at least mention the name of the arc in the title. It seems to me that people are expecting certain moments and get confused, probably because not many of them have watched One Pace. You can check corresponding orignal episdes and manga chapters in the official spreadsheet of One Pace

Here's the thing, Luffy in the village with Shanks was just a small snapshot of his young childhood. Luffy said Ace left 3 years before Luffy himself set out. Luffy is 17 currently, and it's still the same year he set out. So Luffy was 14 when Ace left, and Luffy at least was aware enough of what his brother was doing 3 years ago. There's plenty of time for stuff that could have happened that you aren't aware of.

You're watching One Pace, aren't you? That's why you have some questions that usually would've been answered by the anime. While One Pace is great in its own way, regular anime, besides time wasting and dragging frames, also adds depth, fun, more character building, and also secondary, smaller plotlines. You're dependent on how One Pace makers cut things, so it might not always be 100% perfect.

I am currently reading manga alongside watching one pace and literally nothing was cut from this version of one piece that was in the manga. So I think you are wrong there. Like it's almost 1 to 1 to manga.

This watch-along with their reactions has been my first time personally watching through One Pace & it’s great so far, no real complaints for me!

The anime added a lot of filler and other fluff on top of the manga and One Pace removes most of that. The people who have only watched the original anime and not read the manga are the ones complaining about One Pace. I think it's the best version to watch.

I disagree. None of their questions would have already been answered in the original anime. While I do like some parts of the added filler, One Pace includes all canon material. They haven't missed any pertinent story details.

I would encourage you to continue with One Pace. I have watched the original anime and read the manga and One Pace is the best way for new viewers to experience the story. Yes, there is enjoyable filler stuff that's added to the original anime (especially the comedy), but there's also an unbearable amount of time spent on worthless padding scenes. To put it into perspective, the total amount of time you've saved from watching One Pace before you got to Arabasta has already exceeded seven hours. And it gets much, much worse in some arcs in the future. In more recent arcs the filler has become one of the best parts of the anime, but that's a lot further into the future and once you get there I would suggest possibly switching back, but that will be a long time from now. Trust me, when you get there the viewers will let you know.

It should be safe to watch the intro now. Ace was the last character shown on the intro that had yet to be introduced, and there's nothing in the way of characters "doing stuff" in the intro that could spoil future events.

Yeah all the anime shit. If you compare the manga to one pace no info is being left out it’s basically a 1:1
