Can’t wait to watch in an hour or so

The Anime Dude

“Than that Walther”. Walther is a brand of gun. He’s saying his 8 year old daughter weighs less than the gun he was just holding. Don’t wanna spoil - so will refrain from saying more, but hope that adds some clarity to the scene @ 21:46!

Zen

You can watch the OP and the ED starting from the next episode!

Oscar Medina

Walther is the big rifle that Kiri was looking at before he grabbed his single shot

Fabien

4:44 Yeah you're actually right. It's a detail never explained in the animes though, but it's one part of the lore you can read in the original visual novel Fate/stay night. Also, yes historically Gilgamesh would be middle-eastern (even if he's 99% legends). The creator of Fate once said he just wanted to make his hair look like gold (and his armor too), to reflect how attached he is to his "treasures".

sasha

So about Gilgamesh and his link to snake. Towards the end of his tale he go to the underworld in search of immortality and got a cure to get it but said cure was then eaten by a snake granting them immortality through molting so the artefact that Tokiomi used to summon Gil is the molted skin of said immortal snake

Nguyễn Hữu Minh Tuấn

I brought some information in this episode just in case you did not notice: It's easy to identify a Servant through their Noble Phantasm (abbreviated as NP in Fate World; there are many types of NP, each representing their weapon or ability, etc.). Meanwhile, concealing their identity is extremely important (as lancer just said), which is why masters often refer to servants by their class name instead of their real name. As Saber said on the plane, she has knowledge of this era; which mean if a Servant were to reveal their true identity, it would be easy for her (or other servant) to find out what their NP is, how they used to live, how they fought, like immediately in the fight. Which is explained why Kiritsugu was confused by Tohsaka's decision to reveal the archer's fighting style and also explained why Saber need to conceal her weapon...

bokchoy

It was a short scene so easy to miss, but Waver saw the fight between Gilgamesh and Assassin because he sent a rat familiar to watch the Tohsaka mansion. That's why he says Rider is "more useless than a rat" in their conversation.

Infinite Winds

Nope. The OP has a character that is only first introduced in episode 6 and the ED gives major hints about the true identities of every servant.

Joshua Moore

Since Gilgamesh is the first recorded epic they used the oldest thing they could find to summon him

Nody

you will understand everyone, but seeing my goat getting flamed hurts T_T

Joshua Moore

Hero’s can be summoned into other classes in another fate show Gilgamesh is summoned as a caster

TK

AHHH yes my favorite fate character... JESUS CHRIST

Eika Mikiku

1 ep a week is so painful 😭

eXxCeZz

In a couple of months, when you're done with zero, I'll explain about Caster, just so I don't accidentally spoil anything :)

bokchoy

A small fun fact. Kiritsugu's guns in the show are real-world weapons. The rifle is a Walther WA 2000 and the single-shot pistol is a Thompson G1 Contender with the cougar imprint.

kiki

The snake thing comes directly from the Epic; the old myth goes that after the death of his only friend Enkidu (Wes, you got it right!) Gilgamesh goes on a quest to obtain immortality, and after having traveled through the underworld and having found a herb that supposedly grants it, a regular snake ends up snatching the herb and eating it while he's distracted. It served as an ancient explanation for snakes being able to shed their skin. Also, JJK's author (Gege Akutami) is a Fate fan, and he revealed a couple of years ago that Gilgamesh is his favorite character!

banlungx001

noooo , still a single episodeee

Irongrove

When Kiritsugu said that "Illyasviel weighs less than that Walther even though she is already 8." He mean't that big sniper rifle that he shouldered earlier. Also that Walther WA2000 is a real life sniper rifle which weighs 17 and a half pounds loaded with a scope. Think of that Kiritsugu's sentence what you will. ;)

Gelondil

I wish everybody showed the same restraint! 😊

Kindyh Bordat

If only author had the balls to put him and the big H against each other

Kindyh Bordat

Maaan, One episode a week hurt a lot. I'm watching for the first time basically since it's been years i've read the first few books randomly, and even further that i've watched the first few episodes. I don't remember anything except 50% of the characters.

Raketen Sven

I wonder if we could do a petition for 2 episodes a week, the only upside to 1 episode a week is the comments can give them information they missed or were widely wrong about, that's all.

Klinch

This is my first time watching this series, and I'm getting way too invested. One episode per week is torture :D

Ethereal

31:06 ENKIDU MENTION, LET'S GO The Holy Grail War is a really good premise which is why it has turned into such a successful franchise with multiple entries spanning different mediums. It's a character-focused supernatural battle royale revolving around artistically creative interpretations of historical/mythical figures. What's not to love! Talking about VAs... Waver has Hisoka's voice from HxH. Couldn't be more different.

eXxCeZz

The best part is he is taking bath meanwhile it happens

eXxCeZz

yeah wish they did double episodes, so many episodes go great together

Raketen Sven

I was shocked too when I first saw Kiritsugu's been cheating on his wife with that assistant Maiya, or at least having a wife and a lover (sexual relationship). Its a big contrast to what we've seen from him so far for me

rryutie

Funny episode. Loved the reaction to the cheating/kiss scene especially. Also, itd be incredible for 2 episodes a week. 1 just feels unfairly short.

James Shaw

Walther is the sniper rifle. The Walther 2000 is extremely rare with less than 200 ever made.

Nero

You either missed or didn't quite connect that Waver was spying on the Tohsaka Manor by looking through the eyes of a mouse. As for who wasn't able to catch the fake assassination attempt. I'll assure you that using only the episodes you've seen so far, you have all the tools at your disposal to figure out the answer. If you figure it out, you're very smart.

Tatsuke44

Please let it be 2 episode per week. PLEASEE IM BEGGING YOU 😭

Runhua Tang

I died when wes said "Who's Walther" lol

Infinite Winds

I facepalmed hard but it was very funny

banlungx001

and expensive too , fate is the only thing I watch here , so it s like 5$ for 4 episode per month TT

kinetic98

RIP Walther you'll be missed

Renden

I know it's just because they don't know guns, but it was SO funny

Renden

@banlungx001 I would recommend watching other stuff that W&S have reacted to. Binge watch a show or two that you like, I ensure you that you won't be disappointed. They have great commentary for pretty much everything.

Erik

Walther my beloved

Gelondil

Knowing that it was Gilgamesh that he intended to summon, it's no wonder Tohsaka is so confident to win this war. The OG mythic hero from which all other mythic heroes are but imitations? Summoning him really seems like some kind of cheat code.

Raketen Sven

Americans not knowing guns is a bit ironic lol I expected them to know first

Chels

I was thinking it was the gun, but wasn't sure 😂

Chels

😶 Gods, now you're gonna send my brain into a tailspin lol

Honeybadger

My guess is, it has to be ryuunosuke who didnt spy. He doesnt seem the type to care. probably busy with his hobby. He also didnt seem to be able to use magic. He was surprised his summon actually worked. Had no idea about the grail. So it has got to be him.

Chels

Random correction for educational purposes, but there's no Mythic figures. Only Legends. In Anthropology, "Mythic" refers specifically to creationist folklore. So a "Mythic" figure means "God/Yaweh" "Gaia" "Chronos" "Tartarus" "Ymir" any of the primal deities who created the world. Any people of folklore that either began or got turned into legend such as King Arthur, Lucifer, Jesus, Achilles, Thor, Odin, Gilgamesh.. figures like these would be called legend ☺️👍 That's the actually usage of those classifications. The way "Myth" is colloquially used to say religious, false, untrue is the very first thing we unlearn in Anthropology courses lol so every week my professor would say something was Myth, and watch to see who remembers that Myth doesn't mean false, but means creationist religious content. So not all legends are myth, but some myth are legends. 😊 I do understand what you're trying to say though, and yes I agree that that's a selling point for me too. Having actual figures and icons come to life is SUCH a fun way to do what is essentially pokemon battles 🤣 and the holy grail a gym badge

Chels

My theory for the assassins is they're one of the 2 main shinobi clans who were famous for their bloody battle that ended all shinobi after they were pit against each other by the Japanese government out of fear that they would impact the attempt at unification. I believe one clan was the Koga? But I can't remember the other one.. there's a really good show based on it called Basilisk though. It's a love story between the two heirs of each clan, and the bloody strife itself. 🤔 When he called the one Hassan, I think he's from the clan I can't remember the name of, and that would explain how he got a whole bunch of shinobi. Lancer.. hmm.. he looks very modern so I wonder if he's not quite as old as some of these other character of antiquity. My brain keeps saying Dragoon because of FFXIV, but I dunno if that was ever actually based on anything real. There used to be a game called Legend of the Dragoon, so potentially? The main spearests I know are Spartans, so I'm gonna throw out Achilles' lover-boy Patroclus. Oh and I'm still holding out hope for Kiri. I think he started a mission he no longer wishes to do because he rly fell for his wife. She knew exactly what she was getting into because she even told him "I knew I was going to die when I married you" and she seems perfectly happy to play decoy for him. I think he is torn between love and duty. Also, the other lady kissed him, he didn't reciprocate. It felt like one of those death kisses. A kiss that is more of a goodbye or lament than anything intimate. Maybe it's copium, but I believe! 😭✊️ Saber wouldn't choose someone corrupt of heart (Never seen any of the franchise, but I watched a lot of FMV's and fan content of the show growing up. Don't know anything about the direction of the plot, only that I recognized the little girl and king Arthur, knew there's some trans representation in one of the other seasons, and I love Saber/king Arthur, and rider and assassin from the first fate stay/night and can't wait for that season lol so just know, anything I say is purely my own brain babies. Take it all with a grain of salt. I'll also be making assumptions based on my folklore Anthropology studies

MikiMiki

Just a reminder, this Holy grail's war is in Fuyuki Japan, every master and servant are there. also, you can watch the opening starting from the next episode

Random

Poor lil Illya is malnourished. Get the little thing some steak and potatoes.

Infinite Winds

You're forgetting a character, OP is safe after episode 6

Infinite Winds

For everyone complaining about only 1 episode a week, just do like me and re-watch every reaction once or twice, practically the same effect

banlungx001

i already watch what i like from them , death note/ edgerunner / JJK / brotherhood / geass / hunter , fate is the only thing left for me nowww

REQUIEM

Please give us a double episodes 🙏🏼😭

jom

Please watch the uncensored and uncut version. Also, I legit facepalmed at that Walther bit lmao.

Ale

Lmaoooo
